Former President Ronald Reagan's famed top economic advisor Arthur B. Laffer has slammed President Joe Biden's approach to inflation as 'exactly the opposite' of what is needed to tame soaring consumer prices, speaking to DailyMail.com in an exclusive interview. On Wednesday, new federal data showed the consumer price index hit a 7 percent annual gain in December, the fastest increase since June 1982, when Reagan was fighting to rein in soaring inflation.Reagan swept into office in the 1980 election on his vow to contain inflation, which had hit a staggering 14 percent that year under President Jimmy Carter. 'Inflation is as violent as a mugger, as frightening as

Laffer has his own "hockey stick" chart, overlaying the economy's performance over one year to more than three years.
This inflation has its seed in the TRILLIONS appropriated since the beginning of this "pandemic" to stimulate and rescue the economy - as much as 10 TRILLION before January 20, 2021. That doesn't include the effects of suspending rent and student loan paybacks, nor the apparent effect of less spending during the lockdowns, etc. It all adds up to gi-normous amounts of money sloshing around our economy in the midst of a "supply chain crisis"...and that is what creates inflation.
Who appropriated all this? Who signed the bills into law? Don't look at Joe Biden or the Democrats...the UNIPARTY struck while the pandemic iron was hot. They put their "spread it around" machines in high gear. Sure, they put up a dig-dong battle over a few Trillion later for show. But inflation was already baked into our economy...to save it, you see.

Will somebody remind FJB the moron that a fast growing economy and an inflated economy are not the same thing.
This guy's colossal stupidity gives me a headache.

Joey is absolutely incapable and incompetent on doing anything right for the country. He's only interested in bringing demonrat communism into the country.

How do they arrive at the 7%? Groceries have gone up a minimum of 25% and are still rising in price.

Yes, much agree with the other posters. The CPI of 7 percent must assume the average individual has no debts, no kids, and doesn't have to buy food in order to be that low. At a minimum, 15 percent would be a more realistic figure. And depending one's financial situation, an overall annualized inflation rate of 25 percent for 2021 is probable.

Joe and his gang can come out and lie to us everyday but when we buy groceries, gas, clothing, the necessities of life, we know what is going on. They cannot hide the devastation to family budgets. We are spending more and getting less. We all know it. You cannot spin reality away. Unfortunately, this pandemic came as a perfect storm to control us and the economy while giving unelected bureaucrats seemingly unlimited power over every aspect of our lives. We are in such a world of hurt and this administration is determined to hold us down and force us to take the only medicine they are offering. It won’t work, it never has worked and despite what they say, they can’t make it work this time.

#4, they conveniently don’t include the costs of food or fuel in their inflation measures.

Heck, Biden made a big retail chain, Dollar Tree, raise their prices. This store allows a lot of poor people to get by on their low prices for essentials, and Joe forced them to raise their prices by 25%!

Seen through the red lens of the Communist Manifesto, Brandon is doing a wonderful job. His next major step is to take millions of firearms away from the patriotic half of the populace and make sure the parasites and malcontents still have enough to loot, burn and murder. Good luck Joe, you're going to need it.

You are right on the money, #5. Usually a day late and a dollar short throughout my life, the timing worked out perfectly for the missus and I, retirement during Trump's term, house paid off, kids gone and IRA allowing us to pay cash for any major purchase. No need to go anywhere. food and ammo stockpile began during the reign of Obola. I even escaped paying a cent into obolacare when Medicare took over. I wish I could claim good judgement but it was mostly good luck. The only thing we can't do is take cruises or travel to the Shiitehole countries that hate us, no big deal. The kids even managed to keep their jobs when the mandates collapsed at their places of employment. FJB

I drive a car which requires mid-level gas. The price has almost doubled in the last year. The first steps in reducing inflation are to open the pipelines, re-start fracking, allow drilling on public lands and tell OPEC to shove it into their nether regions.

CPI does not include fuel (gasoline) or food. Apparently these items were excluded years ago and the reasoning was that it was volatile, up and down. We don't buy it! So, the cost of living/inflation is probably double the 7% increase and around 14%.

#11 WOW Thank you for the video referral. This doctor is fantastic and knows his stuff. He says the virus is the host of the poison that the vaccine contains. Never thought of it that way. And he said that those who die from the vaccine die different ways and different times so the "vaccine" can't be blamed. We highly recommended everyone to watch this amazing video and an amazing brave doctor explaining what is going on.

Using both Reagan's name and Biden's in the same headline just seems sacrilegious. The greatest president of the 20th Century and the worst president in history.
