A new experimental system shows exposure of coronavirus to a very high temperature, even if applied for less than a second, can be sufficient to neutralize the virus so that it can no longer infect another human host.
Applying heat to neutralize COVID-19 has been demonstrated before, but in previous studies researchers applied temperatures from one to 20 minutes. This length of time is not a practical solution, as applying heat for a long period of time is both difficult and costly.
Arum Han, professor in the electrical and computer engineering department at Texas A&M University, and his team have now demonstrated that heat treatment for less than a second completely inactivates

That’s why I don’t worry about Covid at my Mojave Desert home. It grates me to see all those mask dummies in the town who are recent arrivals from wetter climes.

My peak sauna temp ought kill the virus in my nose, sinus and throat assuming there is a time at temperature relationship. Maybe for me easier than dr. Mucullough's iodine flush and gargle.

Yeah. Reminds me of a story about a company who was trying to show the failings of their competitor's bullet-proof vests.
They put a mannequin in a booth and set the competitor's vest on fire. Once the temperature hit 300 degrees, the vest exploded. But, you know, if I were wearing a bullet-proof vest at 300 degrees, the fac that the vest exploded would not be among my concerns. Meeting my creator might be a little more pressing at the moment.

I jumped in the sauna last year after coming down with the rona, and the infection became a nothingburger shortly thereafter. My wife, a regular sauna user, never has had rona. Anecdotal? Yes, of course, but perhaps there is something to this high heat virus neutralization theory…?

161F.....so cooked food is safe, as I have suspected. It could be used to disinfect air. All air passing through a conventional furnace are likely heated to temps too low to reach this temp, so a normal home furnace wouldn't kill viruses by heat. A system could be designed to do this, though.

I read this in the early days of 2020. The article said that the virus was enclosed in a layer of fat and if that layer was penetrated it would kill the virus. For people they recommended using a vaporizer with a towel over the head the way your mother's had you do with a bad cold or bronchitis. Good old Mom.
Lately I read that the use of a nasal spray containing a combination of Xylitol and saline twice a day knocks it out in the nasal passages. There were studies done at the University of Utah and Northwestern University that claim that it does work. The spray XClear is sold in most drug stores. It can't hurt.

Keep in mind that most home water heaters are set at 140F and that is too high for most people to shower under without lowering the temperature with cold water so be careful with any home remedy. Saunas would not transfer heat as quickly as water so there is probably less danger of burning yourself.

Just lighting my home on fire! Will stay with it as long as possible! 3rd degree burns are surely better than getting the virus! No? Will keep everyone poste…………..

Re #6, the nasal spray recommended by Dr. McCullough is either 1 to 10 dilution of povidone-iodine (Betadine is a major brand) or 1 to 3 dilution of normal drug store hydrogen peroxide. Either kills the virus almost instantly.
I have been using the povidone-iodine for a week or so, every time I leave any place where there are people, I spray my nose. I bought a small nasal spray with a "holostic" nasal spray, dumped the original and filled with the povodine-iodine. Total cost maybe $10 for two sprayers and a big bottle of povidone-iodine (generic) from drug store. The spray doesn't sting or anything, just coats nasal area with a virus killer.
A good friend works in a hospital daily with COVID patients, uses the nasal spray every day after work. Staying safe.

I have a facial sauna that I need to use more frequently. Plus it also has a nasal attachment.

My guess is that temps even lower, such as are found in a hot sauna, may do the trick as well. It's one reason viral infections tend to drop in the summer. I always found it ironic and irritating that my health center immediately closed down the sauna when the Wuhan first appeared on the scene.

Hmmm, then if they take Fauxie and put him in an oven at 500 degrees for 5 minutes, it will end ALL COVID across the Planet? Count me in, when do I turn on the Heat?
