Makes perfect sense. COVID can't infect you in dorms, only in classrooms. Or, maybe, they're just kowtowing to their faculty.

Fear! Keep everyone in fear. Irrational, foolish, non-sensical fear. How many people in the college age group have gotten seriously ill from this virus? IIRC survival rate in that age group is 99.9998% or so.

Note to parents: tell the kid that he or she is taking a leave from Georgetown and enrolling in a trade school. Learn plumbing, electrical wiring, welding, bookkeeping, or coding. Meet other people, learn a marketable skill. The kid may resent you, but thank you in 10 years.

Georgetown is supposedly a "Christian" college. But like most of our so-called "Christian" churches, they have shown that they cower in fear rather than persevere in faith. This is a powerful message (in the most negative and destructive way) for these students. I have noticed that at my church (Southern Baptist), since we reopened the church, we are at about half our pre-Covid attendance most Sudays. But what is really scariest is that there are a few young families (though not nearly as many as a couple of years ago), and a lot of people 50+ in age. But the teens, young adults, and even people in their 30's and 40's just aren't coming back. Friends from other denominations are telling me that they have noticed the same at their churches. We live in a society that blatantly degrades and distains Christianity and has removed it from so many aspects of our public lives. For our churches to have shown such weakness and impotence the last couple of years was, I fear, the final blow for so many people.

Georgetown is the starship of Jesuit universities in the U.S. Universities realize that tuition increases are quickly noticed by students, but those same students are blissfully unaware of price gouging when it comes to housing. It makes zero sense to keep the dorms open, (except for the money) but simultaneously, to shut down in-class attendance to fight Kung Flu. Some courses can be taught on line - Math, for example, and those courses will be just about identical, no matter which university is offering them. Southern New Hampshire University has an aggressive on-line set of offerings, at about 900 dollars per course. Youngest son will be taking Calculus there, as opposed to taking the same course, same textbook, from, say, Georgetown at 6000 dollars. Kung Flu may change colleges and universities forever!

Most observers considered it a beautiful memorial and an attractive use of an otherwise nondescript wall. The owner of the business commissioned a local artist to create the tasteful and fetching display of patriotism. The Salem City Council has ordered him to remove it, or face fines of up to $200 per day. The artist, Mario De Leon, raised the alarm in a Facebook post: What’s up everybody. The cruise ship industry has been hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, much of their pain and suffering has been self-inflicted, driven by their mindless following of pointless federal dictates. That has most noticeably manifested itself in the implementation of so-called “vaccine passports.” Of course, vaccine passports do not actually accomplish anything. New York City not only has a vaccine passport system, but they also have a vaccine mandate. Still, they lead the nation in new coronavirus cases as of this writing. But the fact that everyone spreads COVID — and that vaccine passports made no sense — is not new information. And when Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida
