Makes perfect sense. COVID can't infect you in dorms, only in classrooms. Or, maybe, they're just kowtowing to their faculty.

Fear! Keep everyone in fear. Irrational, foolish, non-sensical fear.
How many people in the college age group have gotten seriously ill from this virus? IIRC survival rate in that age group is 99.9998% or so.

Note to parents: tell the kid that he or she is taking a leave from Georgetown and enrolling in a trade school. Learn plumbing, electrical wiring, welding, bookkeeping, or coding. Meet other people, learn a marketable skill. The kid may resent you, but thank you in 10 years.

Georgetown is supposedly a "Christian" college. But like most of our so-called "Christian" churches, they have shown that they cower in fear rather than persevere in faith. This is a powerful message (in the most negative and destructive way) for these students.
I have noticed that at my church (Southern Baptist), since we reopened the church, we are at about half our pre-Covid attendance most Sudays. But what is really scariest is that there are a few young families (though not nearly as many as a couple of years ago), and a lot of people 50+ in age. But the teens, young adults, and even people in their 30's and 40's just aren't coming back. Friends from other denominations are telling me that they have noticed the same at their churches.
We live in a society that blatantly degrades and distains Christianity and has removed it from so many aspects of our public lives. For our churches to have shown such weakness and impotence the last couple of years was, I fear, the final blow for so many people.

What a waste of money. How many kids have dropped out of school rather than pay or go into debt when they can only go to college "virtually"?

Or send Junior to a state university, one that will teach students in person. Nothing illustrates the topsy-turvy price-over-value state of American higher indoctrination than this parable.

I have a friend whose daughter recently graduated from Georgetown. She teaches at the local middle school earning the same salary as her colleagues who graduated from the local state university. What a waste of money for her and her family.

Drop out of Georgetown.
If they want to be the University of Phoenix, go to the University of Phoenix... that is... enroll there.

Georgetown is the starship of Jesuit universities in the U.S.
Universities realize that tuition increases are quickly noticed by students, but those same students are blissfully unaware of price gouging when it comes to housing.
It makes zero sense to keep the dorms open, (except for the money) but simultaneously, to shut down in-class attendance to fight Kung Flu.
Some courses can be taught on line - Math, for example, and those courses will be just about identical, no matter which university is offering them.
Southern New Hampshire University has an aggressive on-line set of offerings, at about 900 dollars per course. Youngest son will be taking Calculus there, as opposed to taking the same course, same textbook, from, say, Georgetown at 6000 dollars.
Kung Flu may change colleges and universities forever!

How the mighty have fallen. What a darn shame. Everyday we get more and more news of our demise. It's heartbreaking that a nation as great as ours is falling due to foolishness. The enemies within are worse than any trash talking enemy. Where's Saddam?

For Law School, School of Medicine, and School of Nursing and Health Services it's a wasted semester.

$60,000/year for that Georgetown label on your diploma. A ticket to an elite government job.

$60,000 a year for online teaching. What a rip off. The Chancellor or whatever they call him needs to go to confession and ask forgiveness for stealing.

Tuition remains the same, but teachers do less work and students are in lock down mode. Fast forward four years. Unemployed graduates are whining about having to pay back their student loans.
