The impact the Omicron variant has had on the nation's skyrocketing Covid infections may have been overblown by as much as 50 percentage points after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention slashed its estimate for the prevalence of the strain in COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. The agency released a revised chart on Tuesday showing that the new variant accounted for 23 percent of all cases for the week ending on December 18, as opposed to the 73 percent it originally reported. The CDC corrected its error, to the confusion of many...

Comments:

Omicron is petering out too quickly, so now we are back to Delta to ramp up the fear. At this point, only a fool believes anything that CDC says publicly. They have destroyed all credibility they once had over the last two years.

The “all time high” is because the cdc instructed all hospitals to test all patients for Covid. I went in to have a mole removed and they tried to test me for Covid.

I agree with OP -- Delta was basically done...cases were going down and the Omicron hit and they ramped UP the fear until they realized it was super mild, so now they have to ramp DOWN Omicron and claim that Delta is still prevalent so they can continue to scare everyone to death. It'd be hilarious except for the fact that so many sheeple have invested in the fear that they can't let it go now.

According to a friend in the medical gene business, they have no way to distinguishing the variants and never have. He says it’s just mutating like any normal virus and going out of business as herd immunity sets in. The shot never worked. I wish I could say it’s intent was a mystery, but as more and more people, especially young people, continue to drop, it’s pretty apparent. Oh… did you notice John Madden’s death was unexpected? But they declined details? Uh huh.

I asked my doctor the same question, #8. He said that they would have to sequence every single sample taken to determine the strain which takes several days, and there is absolutely no way they have the resources to do that. Another gigantic lie, happily regurgitated by our fawning press. PCR isn't even that accurate at distinguishing between COVID and the flu, despite being called the 'gold-standard' in testing. Wouldn't antibody tests make more sense?

The initial excuse for the shots not working was that this is a sneaky new variant, but now people are catching the variant they claimed the shots worked against very well. The obvious solution is that we all need "booster" doses of the same drug that does not work.

Dec 31 the PCR test goes away. CDC says it could never differentiate between the flu and Covid using PCR. So, now we see why the rush to test and run up the numbers before Dec 31st! After that the flu will make a comeback and I wonder how many deaths attributed to Covid were just pneumonia and the flu? How many were intubated to death due to false PCR results. Somebody has lots to explain.

They are doing this so they can tell everyone to get the booster. Look for Biden to enact a booster mandate. Biden's Buffoons know it won't work. They will always be behind. If they mandate the booster, instead of 200 million vaccinated, it will probably be only 100 million vaccinated. Maybe even less. They would be going backwards, and their plan would be a failure (just like Biden said). When will the pharmaceuticals step up and admit their plan is a failure? The sooner they do, the faster they can get to work on something that works.

China, under fire for approving new coal power stations as other countries try to curb greenhouse gases, has completed the first 1,000-megawatt unit of the Shanghaimiao plant, the biggest of its kind under construction in the country. Located in Ordos in the coal-rich northwestern region of Inner Mongolia, the plant will eventually have four generating units, and is designed to deliver power to the eastern coastal Shandong province via a long-distance ultra-high voltage grid. China is responsible for more than half of global coal-fired power generation and is expected to see a 9% year-on-year increase in 2021, an International Energy Agency report published this month said.  CORRECTION*

Inflation is surging out of control due to ongoing reckless federal fiscal and monetary policy. This month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that consumer prices rose by 6.8% over the past year, a near 40-year high. Last week, it reported that producer prices rose by a record 9.6%. This high inflation has resulted in falling real wages for ordinary Americans and declining living standards. A new analysis by the Penn Wharton Budget Model concludes surging inflation will cost ordinary American households $3,500 this year. Call it “the Biden pay cut.”
