Between Joe Biden’s poor poll numbers and his party being increasingly out of touch with the American public, the Democratic Party is widely expected to suffer devastating losses in the 2022 midterms.
But prominent Democrat lawyer Marc Elias is predicting that Democrats will try to use litigation to prevent some duly elected Republicans from serving.
“My prediction for 2022: Before the midterm election, we will have a serious discussion about whether individual Republican House Members are disqualified by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment from serving in Congress,” Elias tweeted last week. “We may even see litigation.” [Tweet]
Dan Gainor of the Media Research Center scoffed at Elias’s absurd idea.

Despite President Biden's assurances to the contrary, inflationary pressure is apparently here to stay as his administration looks toward the start of his second year in office and may hope for some relief from the negative "Democrats in disarray" narrative swirling around the White House.
However badly Biden may want the economy to improve, Americans surely wish so more fervently. With the most expensive Thanksgiving and Christmas in memory in the rear-view mirror, there are unfortunately more price hikes to come as manufacturers and producers pass the costs of lasting inflation on to consumers. White House chief of staff Ron Klain was slammed on Twitter Sunday after sharing an opinion piece arguing that 2021 “wasn’t all bad.”
The article, written by Albert Hunt — a former Wall Street Journal reporter and former executive editor of Bloomberg News — was published by The Hill Sunday morning with the headline: “Let’s Be Honest: 2021 Wasn’t All Bad.”
Klain, known for drawing ire on social media for various hot takes, tweeted a link to the article Sunday evening, adding: “A look back at 2021!”

In Houston, I went into an H.E.B. and was talking about California to someone who was giving away free samples of beef – having conversations with random people is a huge difference from LA – and I had to reassure the guy I was going home. Historically, factors such as overcrowding, cancellations, and narrow seats cause in-flight incidents. However, this year, the mask mandate, which the FAA instituted on February 1, has been the major factor causing the massive increase in incidents.
Despite a multitude of studies showing the ineffectiveness of masks and the potential negative health effects, some airlines are now increasing their restrictions and forcing passengers to wear masks while eating and drinking.

A Texas doctor said his practice has seen a nearly 15% increase in vasectomies as men try to push back against the state’s abortion law, The Washington Post (WaPo) reported Sunday.
Koushik Shaw, a doctor who practices at the Austin Urology Institute, told WaPo his practice saw a roughly 15% increase in scheduled vasectomies following the state’s Sept. 1 abortion ban.
