China fires up giant coal power plant
in face of calls for cuts

China, under fire for approving new coal power stations as other countries try to curb greenhouse gases, has completed the first 1,000-megawatt unit of the Shanghaimiao plant, the biggest of its kind under construction in the country. Located in Ordos in the coal-rich northwestern region of Inner Mongolia, the plant will eventually have four generating units, and is designed to deliver power to the eastern coastal Shandong province via a long-distance ultra-high voltage grid. China is responsible for more than half of global coal-fired power generation and is expected to see a 9% year-on-year increase in 2021, an International Energy Agency report published this month said.  CORRECTION*

Comments:

They have reliable coal. We have unicorn farts. China already accounts for 50% of all coal generation emissions, and are going to build even more.

Aint it awful, Aint it awful, Aint it awful. Can't we play another game? I live in Nevada. there is a coal-fired plant about 17 miles west of my house. I drove past the plant daily for 20 years and never saw or smelled any smoke or coal.

China has been building dozens of new coal plants every year for many years. China, unlike the fools that are currently pushing this MMGW scam on the USA and Europe, knows that this is a scam, and is having no part of it.

The agency released a revised chart on Tuesday showing that the new variant accounted for 23 percent of all cases for the week ending on December 18, as opposed to the 73 percent it originally reported. A poll released Monday shows powerful Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell hemorrhaging GOP support, less than a year until the 2022 midterm elections. McConnell came in dead last in Gallup's new survey ranking 11 federal officials by their job approval ratings. His 34 percent public approval is lower than that of President Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. But while the three top Democrats in government found majority support among their own party's voters, the Kentucky Republican is trailing in the GOP sphere. Just 46 percent of McConnell's fellow Republicans approve of his job in the Senate, while a decisive 52-point majority disapprove.

Inflation is surging out of control due to ongoing reckless federal fiscal and monetary policy. This month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics announced that consumer prices rose by 6.8% over the past year, a near 40-year high. Last week, it reported that producer prices rose by a record 9.6%. This high inflation has resulted in falling real wages for ordinary Americans and declining living standards. A new analysis by the Penn Wharton Budget Model concludes surging inflation will cost ordinary American households $3,500 this year. Call it “the Biden pay cut.”

The House of Representatives has passed a bill that seeks to eradicate blasphemy against Islam. The bill, H.R. 5665, is truly remarkable as it amounts to Congress making a law respecting the establishment of Islam and reducing the United States government into a tool of the world’s ayatollahs. The actual text of the bill not only seeks to eradicate blasphemy against Islam around the world – and solely against Islam at that – but even requires the federal government to reorganize some portions of the State Department along the lines of an Islamic religious institution which will be responsible for interpreting the Quran.
