The Corporate Media Freakout Over The
Omicron Variant Isn’t Normal, It’s Psychotic

Original Article

Omicron is here, and with it comes death and destruction — unless, that is, you cancel Christmas, hide in your homes, get all the boosters, double mask, and demand to see negative Covid tests and proof of vaccination for anyone who darkens your doorstep. Any precautions, no matter how seemingly outlandish, are seen as justifiable to protect yourself from this new and terrifying variant. So it is, anyway, with a disturbingly large number of reporters and commentators in the corporate press, whose coverage and individual responses to Covid have become increasingly divorced from that of the rest of America.

Comments:

We should be cheering Omicron. It's far less deadly and is snuffing out Delta and other variants. Bring it on, Omicron.

How many times must we remind ourselves of HL Mencken’s: The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.

You have not seen anything yet. Just wait until the run up to the next election gets here! There is little doubt that the Democrats will shut the country down, and will try to only allow mass mail in voting without any legitimate verification.

If you watch 24/7 news all day, then you deserve anything that they throw at you. Turn off your television on the 24/7. If you must watch something on your TV, then watch reruns or who done it shows. Read only trustworthy cites. Then you will be like the rest of us and know that the Omicron is nothing more than a head or chest cold.

It's not psychotic if there is a goal in mind. COVID-19 was either a serendipitous event that took all by surprise and unprepared, or it was something else, perhaps a release with delayed public health response to "spread it around" from China to Milan to France...and eventually worldwide. Either way, there are many, many hands in this morass intending to keep the populace riled up, on both sides of the question.

Interesting that they are reporting declining cases of Omicron in South Africa (not high rate of vaccinated) for the past 5 or so days, and Fauci stated it was doubling in cases every 2 days. They are certainly pushing people to get vaccinated though. And, they vax companies are pressing for a 50 year lock/seal on the documents related to their vaccine programs. Why would they need such secrecy?

I was half-listening to LSM reporting on omicron responses. They had cellphone video of some 20-something reporting in hushed voice that she had sequestered herself in her home for "six days, or is it seven?" You would think the Walking Dead were at her door. The should have named this variant "Omega", representing the End of Days.

In contrast to the national news, real life here in south Mississippi is pretty much back to normal. Workers in a few stores wearing masks is about the only sign that anything 'Covid' is still going on. What the future brings, no one knows.

Have you ever wondered what disgraced former deputy FBI directors do after trying to stage a coup and lying under oath? Apparently, they give talks about “protecting democracy” at top-rated institutions of higher learning. Indeed, this last Thursday the University of Chicago invited former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe to join a panel of partisans to discuss the Jan 6 “insurrection.” McCabe was fired as the deputy FBI director for leaking sensitive information about an investigation into the Clinton Foundation and then lying about it under oath.

Self-absorbed congressional Democrats held a group therapy session on Capitol Hill on Thursday as they work tirelessly to immortalize Jan. 6 as an annual day of doom, but the rest of us are old enough to remember a few more times when riots and protests overwhelmed government buildings with no such theatrical response. More than a few times, actually. The 2020 summer of rage was more or less “incited” by these same top Democrats, who race-baited as if their lives depended on it, and even our vice president,

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) has been the one to pretty much deliver the bad news to Democrats concerning their plan to nuke the filibuster. He’s already seen as public enemy number one on Build Back Better after he went on national television to announce he’s killing it because it’s an expensive communist venture. It’s a 50-50 Senate. I don’t get what Chuck is trying to do here. Is it to ward off a potential primary challenge from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? Maybe—but she’ll be coming after you no matter what, Chuck. ndiana is among the numerous Republican-led states to consider bills this spring legislative session to protect kids in public schools from pornographic, racist, and anti-American materials. Parent activists in the state say they’re concerned the strongest bills on such issues will be kept from public hearings and open votes to protect Republican lawmakers from primaries and angry constituents. In an era in which critical race theory and anti-American curriculum are shifting elections, that could be a fool’s move. Indiana’s legislative session opens today, Jan. 4, with the first hearing on hot-topic education bills slated for Jan. 5. Two bills, Senate Bill 167

The Federal Aviation Administration on Friday warned that even more flights could be canceled as its air traffic control staff are hit by COVID, even as airlines themselves nix thousands of flights because of staff felled by the Omicron variant. In a statement, the FAA said an increasing number of its employees are testing positive for the virus, CNN reports, which could force it to implement health and cleaning procedures that will reduce the number of available flights. 'To maintain safety, traffic and volume at some facilities could be reduced, which might result in delays during busy periods,' the administration warned. The FAA doesn't actually schedule flights

One sign of success in a sport: When you have the highest winning percentage of any long-tenured coach — but your coaching career becomes almost an afterthought in your biography. That description applies to John Madden, the former Oakland Raiders coach who transformed himself into one of the best-known, and most-loved, broadcasters in sports — and the namesake of a multi-billion dollar video game franchise. Madden died suddenly on Tuesday at age 85, according to a statement released by the NFL, in which Commissioner Roger Goodell said that “there will never be another John Madden,

Many on the political right oppose so-called “Big Government” due primarily to the tyranny it inevitably inflicts on its citizens, and we’re seeing scary examples of the phenomenon in real-time. Examples of such autocracy include vaccine and mask mandates, jury intimidation (see the Derek Chauvin trial), and unapologetic assaults on our First Amendment right to free speech. But there are other aspects of Big Government that are both infuriating and repulsive, one of which is its inexcusable waste; and we saw a ridiculous example of such waste last week.

The world seemed to get closer to spinning out of its orbit in 2021. If you’d told me five years ago that men would be treated as women, criminals would not be prosecuted, and censorship would be widespread, I wouldn’t have believed you. What were once considered the most basic, scientific truths (such as that you’re born with your sex and can’t change it) have broken down. Governments are no longer serving their primary function of providing security and protecting borders. There are many more. As I reflected on the past year, here are just some of the many things that happened in 2021 that I never would have believed possible.

Texas scientists rolled out a new COVID-19 vaccine, saying it’s patent-free and can be produced by any manufacturer in any country. The vaccine, called Corbevax, was developed by the Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine. It has successfully passed human trials as safe and effective. The new treatment is based off protein-based technology that has been used in other vaccines for decades and it does not use MRNA. India has already authorized production of 100 million doses per month of the new vaccine. Meanwhile, Texas scientists say not-for-profit vaccines will help defeat COVID-19 quicker.

The slogan began to circulate in September, when a Nascar reporter misheard the chants of 'F*** Joe Biden', and it has since become an anti-Biden rallying cry. Morrison tweeted to American Airlines, saying: 'Y'all cool with your pilots displaying this kind of cowardly rhetoric on their crew luggage when they're in uniform, about to board a plane?

Most Americans today have a romanticized (and extraordinarily narrow) historical understanding of the conflict that we call the Civil War. In their imaginations, it goes something like this: With passions inflamed by a moral renaissance in the North regarding the institution of slavery in the South, the two sides decided to go to war over the issue. In the end, the evil South was righteously razed by the armies of the North, and thus, slavery was ended, and the former slaves made American citizens, as Abraham Lincoln intended.
