10 Christmas Songs That Must Be Cancelled
By The End Of 2021

The song “Baby It’s Cold Outside” has certainly had its fair share of controversy in recent years. In 2018, the infamous Christmas classic made headlines when numerous radio stations moved to scrap the song after its lyrics were deemed controversial. Although many conservatives may see this as another example of cancel culture plaguing our society, I view it as a necessary development for a more progressive civilization. Such grotesque and misogynistic rhetoric should not be tolerated, especially in supposed family-oriented music. While the attempted canceling of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” is a step in the right direction, it didn’t go nearly far enough.

Comments:

Or, we could just cancel "Cancel Culture."

At the very top, it is marked satire. Had me going for a while. Seriously though, the godless left would cancel Christmas entirely. The author has the left defined perfectly.

Christmas is a nice holiday, but holds no spiritual significance for me. The origin of Yuletide is Druidic, not Christian. That being said, I would leave the songs as they are and let people enjoy them.

The James Taylor version of Baby It’s Cold Outside is absolutely creepy. I would never want my daughter around a character like that. I’ve never liked the song. If you have to get a woman drunk to take interest in you you have problems.

I like most of those. I first heard Baby Its Cold Outside just a few years ago and loved it, especially if the girl singer has a sweet, innocent voice. There are a million versions of it out there. John Boy and Billy (A redneck radio show) has a version with an Ike Turner imitator that is an absolute riot.

Sadly, I have too many brain-dead lie-beral relatives that would read this and agree with every word!!! Some of them announced that they were no longer going to celebrate "Christmas" because of it's a white Christian holiday (even though they are white and Presbyterian). Last year, I didn't invite them to our family Christmas dinner, and they were totally confused. So I threw their words right back in their smug faces, and we thoroughly enjoyed Christmas dinner without them. This year, I got Christmas cards from all of them, and they all expressed that they hoped we would be doing Christmas dinner together again. Being Christian, I have invited them again (that whole turn-the-other-cheek thing). But I swear if they start with the brain-dead lie-beral garbage, I will ask them to leave!!!

I realize that this is satire, but I actually have my own list of holiday songs that desperately need to be cancelled. They include: My Favorite Things - This is not and has NEVER been a Christmas song!! Nothing commemorates the birth of our Lord like singing about bee stings and dog bites!! Step into Christmas by Elton John - Just BLECH!! I turn the station as soon as this little ego stroker comes on!! The Christmas Shoes - Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy and happiness. This song makes you want to drink yourself into a stupor and sleep until after the new year!! Depressing dreck!! Same Old Lang Syne by Dan Fogelburg - Nothing says "Welcome to the world, Baby Jesus" like plowing through a six-pack in your car with someone else's wife and moaning about how your life has turned out!! I know that there are more and that these listed have their defenders, but these are the ones that irritate me most.

Yes, far too many liberals will not get that this is satire and take it seriously. Youtube has the full clip of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" with Esther Williams, Ricardo Montalban, Betty Garrett and Red Skelton - if complainers would watch that, they might change their tune. I'm just glad the local stations have stopped playing that godawful "The Christmas Shoes." Kid is out alone shopping for shoes instead of spending it with his dying mother because Jesus judges people on their wardrobe. Oh, that's a good song for the holiday. Last year, the big song to play was "Hallelujah" by Pentatonix - obviously, no one listened to the lyrics beyond the title, because it ain't a Christmas song. Luckily, it's not getting anywhere as much playtime this year.

Re: "Jingle Bell Rock". In 2010 I was with 3 family members in a small restaurant in Prague. It was noon. Suddenly the music changed to Brenda Lee's version of Jingle Bell Rock. Nothing is as humorous as 'rocking around the Christmas Tree' being sung in June in a Czech restaurant. We laughed and discussed whether the owner and patrons realized it was a Christmas song.

It also marks the second year in a row that I’m making such an assessment. We’re in a rut. Last week the corrupt media’s penchant for spinning all things conservative caused a near-fatal case of whiplash. The left began by chastising conservatives for supposedly building “its own echo chamber,” but by the next day, when news broke that Devin Nunes was resigning from Congress to serve as the CEO of Donald Trump’s new media company, the complained-of conservative ecosystem merely represented grift. Both narratives are false, however, which is precisely why leftists peddled them so hard. Axios launched the “echo chamber” accusation with its article titled, “Right wing builds its own echo chamber.”

In a great and free country like these United States, these companies enjoy our freedom of speech, and they have every right to say and act how they see fit; within reason.
