Republican Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy grilled one of President Joe Biden’s judicial nominees with the same question nine times in a row over the course of five minutes. Anne Traum was nominated by Biden to be the United States District Judge for the District of Nevada. During Thursday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Kennedy questioned Traum’s beliefs on criminal justice. “Do you think we should forgive criminal misbehavior in the name of social justice?” Kennedy asked. “Senator, thank you for that question. I recognize that all issues of crime and all responses to crime are fundamentally policy issues.

Comments:

Senator Kennedy is my favorite. He's funny, but he's also a bulldog. Love this guy.

Further down in the article is this: (Love it; Sen. Kennedy is GREAT!!) "“I can’t vote for you, not if you’re not going to answer the questions,” Kennedy said. “I mean that was embarrassing.”

This is how ALL of FJB’s nominees should be treated. Keep asking the question; if they don’t answer it, tell them you won’t vote for them.

It was a very straightforward question and she kept fillibustering and talking nonsense. Kennedy called her out and demonstrated why she shouldn't be confirmed. She'll get confirmed anyway.

She too dumb to be a judge on any court. It's an easy question: "Do you think we should forgive criminal misbehavior in the name of social justice?” The answer is "yes, but not by judges. State Governors and the President of the United States can grant pardons based on social justice as I believe President Trump my have done when he pardoned Alice Marie Jackson, the 63-year old black grandmother who served 21 years of a life sentence for conspiracy to possess cocaine and attempted possession of cocaine. She was a first-time non-violent drug offender." Almost every Biden nominee, while being questioned by a Republican U.S. Senator. starts his or her answer with: "Senator, thank you for the question." It's cringe worthy and the height of insincerity. It's a ploy to have those few seconds to try to conjure up their best BS, non-responsive, answer. What they are thinking to themselves is: "You SOB!"

So, the law regarding murder, theft, and assault is just a policy issue. The law might condemn, might approve, depends on the policy maker, not on the nature of the act. Don't make this idiot a judge.

Following and enforcing THE RULE OF LAW is not a "policy decision" Kennedy is good for "down home quotes" in the media, but he is STILL a RINO who back stabs conservatives.... this is reminiscent of fellow backstabbing RINO Lindsey Grahamnesty saying in his Presidential campaign that we could solve massive and controversial issues if we "just sat down and had a beer" together

This chick has the worst Valley Girl affectation I've EVER heard. She not only )uses the question affectation at the end of a sentence but sprinkles it through the entirety of her comments ( not to be confused with answers, by the way. So, I hope no one is offended by my use of the word "chick". No WAIT! I don't either................

California Democrats are toughening their stance on crime amid increasing violence and homicides, with many politicians pledging to invest in law enforcement. Crime in California has skyrocketed over the past two years, with homicides in San Francisco jumping 15% in 2021 compared to 2020, and over 50% compared to 2019. Statewide, homicides, property crime, violent crime and larcenies have all risen since before the pandemic. Retail thefts in particular have plagued the state, most notably in Los Angeles and San Francisco, where organized gangs of criminals will break into and loot storefronts of their merchandise.

I admit, I am fired up about this story. It strikes a nerve on so many levels – paternal, cultural, political – that a review of the intentional, race-motivated, and horrific murder could do no less. Though one need not be a parent to emotionally connect to the murder of 14-year-old Ryan Rogers, as a father I can’t help but have the idea reinforced that there are much better and stronger individuals than myself. I am not sure how any parent could restrain themselves against the monster that repeatedly stabbed my child in the face and head with a knife until their life was mutilated out of them.

And that’s not all so far this month: An NBC Sports crew working on assignment in Oakland, California was robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning, according to a report from The Mercury News, and the robbers got away with a camera from the crew’s vehicle.

While the court could overturn its landmark decision in Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion, observers have suggested the justices could take more complicated paths to allowing states the power to impose greater restrictions on abortion. The case – Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health – is based on Mississippi's 15-week abortion ban, and could help craft a new standard for restrictions.
