Liberals press feds to pursue criminal
prosecutions for Big Tech executives

Original Article

Liberal anti-monopoly activists and Democrats are pressing for the government to prosecute Big Tech CEOs and top executives for monopolistic behavior and illegal activity that they say has gone egregiously unchecked. The liberal antitrust activists are calling on the Justice Department, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Federal Trade Commission to criminally investigate and prosecute prominent tech leaders for hurting advertisers, investors, and some users by flouting the law while enriching themselves.

Comments:

Something tells me the leftist elites aren't onboard with this effort. This isn't going anywhere.

In line with previous posters, my first thought was "why would they be doing this to their ideological allies"? Then it occurred to me that this is a pretty transparent attempt to extort campaign funds from their deep pockets, the old Democrat party protection racket.

Wow, talk about eating your own! Of course so called big tech( I personally don’t find social media technical other that it involves writhing software) deserves to be reined in. For a hundred years our sources of news and information came under control of the people. Now the internet came along and that let a few west coast weenies start to give our youth their version of the way to run a society. It hit the west coast and demonstrated just how stupid the left wing ideas are my destroying all of the west coast cities. Let’s just hope the left that supports reining in social media catches traction.

As guilty as these companies/CEOs are, this sure smells like fake news. Warren and all liberals are pretty stupid they might be convinced to support this in the name of their anti-business bias. This might be an issue we can all come together.

Although I'm sure their motives are different than those of conservatives, these anti-American, elitist, pencil-necked geeks need to be knocked off their high horses and pay for their crimes against our Constitution. They helped dirty democrats to win a stolen election and are helping far leftists further damage the country. Zuckerberg sucks and FJB.

Big tech ? The S.E.C. itself is hurting individual investors by blocking them from trading products that they have traded for YEARS; WE are the ones being denied our freedoms. We can decide on our own whether to invest in a 'big tech' company, OR, those that the S>E>C is only allowing BIG INVESTORS to trade. The Gov't bureaucracies themselves implement what should be illegal activities. They are mandating who can or cannot trade certain stocks.

The Green Party will appear on the ballot in North Carolina’s upcoming Senate contest this November, a federal judge has ruled — despite a coordinated Democratic effort to prevent it. After the Green Party submitted thousands of signatures for its candidate to appear on the ballot in North Carolina, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) — represented by Russia Hoax lawyer Marc Elias’s law firm — began contacting the people who signed the petition for ballot access and asked them to remove their signatures. Even the Green Party’s candidate himself, Matthew Hoh, received text messages from the DSCC asking

Let’s try a thought exercise with a question to consider: What occupation, particularly in the current decade, has become increasingly difficult to perform and endure? During the COVID pandemic, our doctors and nurses were stretched thin, stressed out, and overwhelmed. But healthcare professionals were widely regarded as heroes during COVID – true heroes – and they received heaping appreciation. There are teachers, no doubt, who would consider their vocation as a candidate for this discussion, claiming they are under-appreciated and unfairly targeted, and some may have a point. And, of course, firefighters have always faced major challenges.

In a win for election integrity advocates, the United States Western District Court of Michigan denied Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s attempt at dismissing Public Interest Legal Foundation’s (PILF) lawsuit pertaining to the failure to remove dead registrants from the state’s voter rolls. The court also dismissed motions to intervene from leftist groups, such as the A. Philip Randolph Institute, the Michigan Alliance for Retired Americans, and Rise, Inc. In 2020, PILF had notified the Secretary of State’s office about dead registrants remaining on Michigan’s voter rolls,

President Joe Biden is looking north for critical mineral supplies to meet government-inflated demand for clean-energy initiatives while the administration shuts down major mining projects on American soil. In March, the president invoked the Defense Production Act to expedite the expansion of U.S. mining operations behind lithium, nickel, cobalt, graphite, and manganese as demand rises for the raw materials. Not only are the critical minerals central to the administration’s subsidized wind and solar farms, but they are essential for defense technologies and popular products from cell phones to laptops.

For our friends on the left, attitudes toward race have apparently come full circle. It wasn’t that long ago, less than a decade perhaps, that the mere suggestion of a major corporation openly discriminating against prospective candidates for scholarships and fellowships based on their race would have been denounced from every angle of the political spectrum. If those being excluded from consideration were to have been limited to only white folks, there would have certainly been sympathizers with the idea from various leftists, but they wouldn’t have been brazen enough to put forth the notion publicly. And if it wasn’t only white folks whose candidacies were being barred, if non-white

There are certain images and names that, when viewed or imagined, immediately scream “America!” Brands such as Coca-Cola and Levi’s certainly fit this bill, as do McDonald’s and Major League Baseball. But there is arguably no brand that is more iconic of America and our culture than that of the Walt Disney Company. Whether it’s images of characters such as Donald Duck, or the mere silhouette of Mickey Mouse’s ears, or even old photos of the great Walt Disney himself, people around the globe immediately associate Disney and its brand with us: America. It is for this reason that the hideous transformation of the Disney Company

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was asked yesterday about Republican prospects for the November elections. “I think there’s probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate. Senate races are just different, they’re statewide, candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome,” McConnell replied. The media and others on the left were of course thrilled with the Republican leader’s “notable quotable” disparagement of Republican candidates and the voters who chose them, which somehow came off even worse on video. What was McConnell thinking? What in the world was he thinking? Unnecessarily ceding an incredibly winnable Senate to Democrats three months before an election is a great example of the leadership choices

Following years of bureaucratic malfeasance in the name of science, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its Covid guidelines on Thursday to now recommend and acknowledge long overdue truths regarding transmission of the respiratory virus and Covid vaccines. Among the new provisions included in the guidelines are recommendations to largely end mass asymptomatic testing of individuals with no known exposure to the virus, as well as calls for those “exposed to COVID-19” to wear a “mask for 10 days and get tested on day 5” rather than quarantine.

For those of us who have never been behind bars, one of the more fascinating aspects of prison life is the convicts’ code of moral conduct. They have their own internal justice system, according to scores of accounts, and the standards they apply seem to be fairly consistent across all jurisdictions. Whether you’re a federal, state, or local prisoner, there are certain crimes which are tolerated by other inmates, some that are even celebrated, but there are others that are completely taboo. And if you’re one who’s been convicted of an off-limits crime, you could have a big problem.

Jennifer thought it was a mistake. The teacher must have accidentally emailed the wrong parent. But then, Jennifer went to her daughter’s room and found a yellow Post-It note stuck to her dresser with that same name, along with the pronouns “they/them.” “Do you have a new nickname?” Jennifer asked. During the runup to his 2016 presidential election victory, former President Donald Trump made illegal immigration and border security one of the primary aspects of his campaign’s platform. He would frequently encourage chants of “Build the Wall” at his rallies, and he wasn’t shy about calling out the problems America was facing due to the border crisis. Put simply: Donald Trump was the face of the “Tighten Immigration” movement. That is… until now. Though Arizona’s Republican Governor Doug Ducey has also been vocal in addressing the out-of-control influx of immigrants over our southern border,

The headlines were stark and specific. Reuters claimed, “World registers hottest day ever recorded on July 3.” Well, “ever recorded” is misleading since the records have only been “recorded” since 1979. But what kind of a headline would that have been? At least the BBC was honest about their scare headline: “World’s hottest day since records began.” The bottom line: We’re all going to burn up and we’re all going to die unless we throw an hysterical climate change tantrum and demand that our government take panicky steps to save us from the climate change demons. There’s no doubt that this Independence Day was hot. It was very hot. It was uncomfortably hot

An archbishop in the Church of England said the opening of the “Lord’s Prayer” is considered “problematic” to some people because the 2,000-year-old prayer starts by addressing God as “Our Father.” Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell told the General Synod, the legislating and ruling body of the Church of England, that referring to God as “father” might be offensive to some people because of the negative connotations of patriarchy. “I know the word ‘father’ is problematic for those whose experience of earthly fathers has been destructive and abusive, and for all of us who have labored rather too much from an oppressively patriarchal grip on life,” Cottrell said,

Stein’s Law holds that “If something cannot go on forever, it will stop.” The late Herbert Stein made the observation about economic trends, but his axiom perfectly describes Joe Biden’s shaky dance with political death. The president is trying to navigate a narrow path between two potential disasters. Each one could prove fatal to his tenure, but if the twain shall meet, he doesn’t have a prayer. And it’s a near certainty they will meet because the facts we already know are overwhelmingly stacked against him and more damaging information is coming soon. One track of his predicament stems from general public unhappiness with his performance.

Major legal rulings that dismantled the use of race in college admissions, undermined protections for LGBTQ people and tossed out President Joe Biden’s student debt relief program marked the end of a Supreme Court term in which the conservative supermajority continued to exert its dominance. The majority also doubled down on a controversial legal theory that limits the power of federal agencies to take unilateral action. Meanwhile, the justices rejected a far-fetched argument that would have limited the role of state courts in election disputes and turned away an aggressive attempt to challenge Biden administration immigration policy – both areas in which lawyers on the right might have overreached in their arguments.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was slammed for bowing multiple times when she met with China's vice premier He Lifeng, as some critics say the protocol error is a sign of American weakness. Yellen, who served as chair of the Federal Reserve before becoming Joe Biden's top financial official, wrapped up her first visit to China as treasury secretary on Sunday. Moments after bowing at least three times, Yellen then stumbled over He's name, calling him 'Vice Premier Hu.' Both Washington and Beijing said the meetings during her four-day trip were fruitful, although the visit - designed to help smooth a rocky relationship - did not generate any concrete agreements.
