Initial results are in and the western monarch butterfly is making a comeback. In California, researchers are seeing 50 times more monarchs at overwintering sites this year compared to last. "To have this many this year, is just, I'm jumping out of my skin excited," said Craig Corwin of Arroyo Grande. (skip) There are more than 22,445 monarchs at the Pismo State Beach Butterfly Grove. "Last season, we saw just around 200 at our peak," (skip) In 2013-2014, there were 34,000 butterflies in Pismo Beach. In 2016-2017, it dipped to 20,000 and in 2018-2019, there were a little over 4,300.

It is good news. We used to see them by the thousands on the east coast and they are slowly making a comeback. I have planted milkweed in my yard in South Carolina and have seen a few in the last couple of years.

Basically, the resources Monarch Butterflies use down in Mexico were NOT accessed by the Eastern populations dye to the wind farm in the midwest, on their migration route, turned the prairies orange with chopped up butterflies. A small number of environmentalists were fairly concerned because the common Monarch became quite rare, for 'Woke' policies. They are so relieved their fantasies haven't exterminated this butterfly - never mind that it exterminates every bird, bat, and insect that does still go through that area in seasonal migration. Liberal policies and creations are always 'good', even when they are murderously destructive.

A comet that was discovered earlier this year is expected to fly by Earth next week on its journey through the solar system, and it will be the only chance you’ll ever get to observe the celestial object. Comet Leonard, also known as C/2021, will make its closest approach to Earth on Dec. 12, according to NASA. The comet was discovered earlier this year by astronomer Gregory Leonard, hence its name. EarthSky describes C/2021 A as “likely to be 2021’s best comet, and its brightest comet by year’s end.”

Gary Stephen Maynard, 47, faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count of arson to federal property, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of California said in a statement. After Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Bruce Schroeder read through nearly 40 pages of jury instructions on Monday, Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger began the prosecution's closing argument in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse. Stretching on for more than two hours, Binger's closing argument meandered through a selectively chosen set of facts that defied logic, ignored reality, and seemed at times unbelievable. 1. At one point in his argument, Binger sounded like a CNN reporter when he characterized the violent rioters that were laying siege to Kenosha as a "crowd full of heroes."

The holiday season has long been a source of contention for many families, but this year families may be even more divided with almost two-thirds of fully jabbed Americans reportedly planning to ban their unvaccinated relatives from holiday festivities. The November 2 study by OnePoll analyzed the responses of 2,000 U.S. residents about how the COVID-19 vaccine has influenced relationships with loved ones. Fully vaccinated individuals accounted for 65 percent of respondents and nearly six out of 10 of those respondents had already severed ties with unvaccinated family members. CORRECTION*

Banker Guillermo Lasso unexpectedly won Ecuador's presidency on promises to revive an economy battered by the coronavirus while his rival's vows of a return to socialist largesse failed to win over a skeptical electorate. Lasso took 52% of the vote in the runoff following a campaign that pitted free market economics against the social welfare plans of economist Andres Arauz, a win likely helped by a ballot spoiling campaign that left one in six ballots void. Markets welcomed the news following months of concerns that Arauz's social spending plans would upset the government's delicate finances.

Two Republican members of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers in Michigan rescinded their votes to certify the election results, saying Wednesday they were bullied into changing their original votes, and state authorities had refused to conduct an audit. As Breitbart News reported Tuesday, the board originally deadlocked 2-2 along partisan lines and failed to certify the results because of discrepancies between ballots and voter rolls. But after public abuse and threats, and with the video stream down, the two Republicans agreed to change their votes, saying that they’re promised state authorities would audit the results.

(skip)Twitter user "US Rebel" (@USRebellion1776), however, found that the number of votes cast for Joe Biden far exceeds those cast for that state's Senate candidates in swing states, while those cast for Trump and GOP Senators remains far closer.

Cuomo was suspended after text messages released by the New York attorney general’s office showed Cuomo was actively assisting with his brother’s response to the allegations of sexual misconduct against him and exploiting his media connections to dig up dirt on Andrew’s accusers. Surprisingly, there is real hope. That hope lies in two stubborn centers of resistance that remain: nearly 50% of the American electorate, judging by the 2016 and 2020 elections; and the Republican Party.
