A comet that was discovered earlier this year is expected to fly by Earth next week on its journey through the solar system, and it will be the only chance youâll ever get to observe the celestial object.
Comet Leonard, also known as C/2021, will make its closest approach to Earth on Dec. 12, according to NASA. The comet was discovered earlier this year by astronomer Gregory Leonard, hence its name.
EarthSky describes C/2021 A as âlikely to be 2021âs best comet, and its brightest comet by yearâs end.â

A former college professor was indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday for allegedly starting four wildfires in Northern California earlier this year, near the deadly Dixie Fire.
Gary Stephen Maynard, 47, faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count of arson to federal property, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of California said in a statement.
The blazes threatened to trap firefighters as they battled the massive Dixie blaze - the second-largest wildfire in California history - nearby, prosecutors said.

After Kenosha County Circuit Court Judge Bruce Schroeder read through nearly 40 pages of jury instructions on Monday, Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger began the prosecution's closing argument in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse.
Stretching on for more than two hours, Binger's closing argument meandered through a selectively chosen set of facts that defied logic, ignored reality, and seemed at times unbelievable.
1. At one point in his argument, Binger sounded like a CNN reporter when he characterized the violent rioters that were laying siege to Kenosha as a "crowd full of heroes."

The holiday season has long been a source of contention for many families, but this year families may be even more divided with almost two-thirds of fully jabbed Americans reportedly planning to ban their unvaccinated relatives from holiday festivities. The November 2 study by OnePoll analyzed the responses of 2,000 U.S. residents about how the COVID-19 vaccine has influenced relationships with loved ones. Fully vaccinated individuals accounted for 65 percent of respondents and nearly six out of 10 of those respondents had already severed ties with unvaccinated family members. CORRECTION*

Banker Guillermo Lasso unexpectedly won Ecuador's presidency on promises to revive an economy battered by the coronavirus while his rival's vows of a return to socialist largesse failed to win over a skeptical electorate.
Lasso took 52% of the vote in the runoff following a campaign that pitted free market economics against the social welfare plans of economist Andres Arauz, a win likely helped by a ballot spoiling campaign that left one in six ballots void.
Markets welcomed the news following months of concerns that Arauz's social spending plans would upset the government's delicate finances.

Bobby Piton, the mathematician who testified at the Arizona voter fraud hearing dropped a bombshell this weekend.
Mr. Piton has done extraordinary work crunching data and his testimony pointed out blatant voter fraud through incontrovertible evidence, at one point claiming heâd stake his life on the factual nature of his testimony.
Piton revealed this weekend that he examined just over 9 million records in Pennsylvania and has identified 521,879 unique last names.
In other words, these people have no parents, siblings, aunts, uncles or cousins who share the same last name (phantom voters).

Two Republican members of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers in Michigan rescinded their votes to certify the election results, saying Wednesday they were bullied into changing their original votes, and state authorities had refused to conduct an audit.
As Breitbart News reported Tuesday, the board originally deadlocked 2-2 along partisan lines and failed to certify the results because of discrepancies between ballots and voter rolls. But after public abuse and threats, and with the video stream down, the two Republicans agreed to change their votes, saying that theyâre promised state authorities would audit the results.

In most elections, the majority of votes are cast "down the ticket" - meaning, a voter supports both party's presidential nominee and state Congressional candidates. In fact, according to Pew Research, "overwhelming shares of voters who are supporting Trump and Biden say they are also supporting the same-party candidate for Senate."
(skip)Twitter user "US Rebel" (@USRebellion1776), however, found that the number of votes cast for Joe Biden far exceeds those cast for that state's Senate candidates in swing states, while those cast for Trump and GOP Senators remains far closer.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) owes President Trump an apology.
The FBI announced on Thursday during a press conference that it thwarted a plot by a so-called âright-wing militiaâ to kidnap and kill Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and overthrow the state government.
Early Thursday morning, federal agencies raided a house in Hartland, Michigan and arrested six men: Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, and Brandon Caserta.
Whitmer immediately blamed the plot on President Trump telling the Proud Boys to âstand back and stand by.â

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pondered out loud whether President Trumpâs use of an anti-inflammatory drug âwas impacting his thinkingâ after the abrupt halt of negotiations over the next coronavirus stimulus bill, according to reports.
Pelosi questioned whether dexamethasone, a steroid used for treating some COVID-19 patients, had affected the presidentâs thought process as he recovers from his illness, during a Democratic call Tuesday, according to CNNâs Manu Raju, who cited two people on the line.
The drugâs potential side effects can include vertigo, psychic disorders and mood swings, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
