Free falling: A quarter of Dems strongly
disapprove of Biden performance in new poll

Original Article

An outlier? Perhaps, as Republican-leaning Trafalgar has been one of the tougher polling series for Joe Biden ever since his bug-out from Afghanistan. On the other hand, this is still the worst result yet from this series, and that direction mirrors most of the rest of the polling over the last three-plus months. In yesterday’s results, Biden hit 36% job approval and still appears to be searching for a floor. More problematic is that most voters who don’t approve are passionate about it; Biden gets a disapproval rating of 59%, with 52.2% strongly disapproving. Biden doesn’t inspire much middle ground

Even in the Soviet Union millions of Russians hated their communist rulers. Same thing in Cuba, millions would flee if given the chance. So, lots of Democrats are upset with Biden. That's a switch but a welcome one.

Therefore three quarters of the Democrats can't admit they made a huge mistake, hate the country, are mentally incompetent, don't care and are not paying attention, or some combination of the preceding.

On Tuesday, November 30, a 15-year-old boy allegedly used a firearm belonging to his father to open fire on classmates, killing four students. The morning of the attack, school administrators met with the boy’s parents and showed them disturbing notes found that day indicating the boy was willing to do harm to himself and others. The boy also was caught searching for ammo on his phone just days before the shooting. But, rather than disciplining the child, the school simply gave the parents the option of pulling him out of class or leaving him in school following a meeting with school officials.

Governor Ron DeSantis proposed reinstating Florida’s State Guard—and the entire leftist establishment went mad. So mad, indeed, that Sarah Silverman, of all people, issued a “calm down” warning to MSNBC’s professional hysteric, Joy Reid. State guard forces are nothing new and nothing exciting. Indeed, even Wikipedia has an honest and temperate description of them. It explains that they are military units that operate under the aegis of the given state’s governor. Unlike a state’s national guard forces, they cannot be federalized. (You may recall how the Democrats called national guard forces to D.C. in January so there’d be someone there to witness the inauguration of our current (p)resident.)

According to a document obtained by the New York Post, the answer is yes … at least in the past tense. A legal services contract revealed that the Department of Justice under Merrick Garland had opened a civil-rights probe relating to multiple allegations of sexual harassment by Andrew Cuomo. Is the investigation still underway, though? The feds are following state and legislative authorities in probing the sexual harassment claims against former Gov. Andrew Cuomo that forced him from office, The Post has learned. The stunning revelation of a separate Department of Justice investigation

The Bidens were on Biden time last night as they arrived at their designated spot for the National Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. They were late. They were late enough that the host of the ceremony held on The Ellipse in President’s Park south of the White House had to ask the audience to re-do their applause after the First Couple’s introduction. Last night was the 99th annual National Christmas Tree lighting. Is it too much to ask that Biden’s keepers get him outside on time to flip a switch? Apparently so, and it turned out to be a moment more awkward than usual for Sleepy Joe.

The bad news about the Omicron variant is that it’s spreading quite rapidly in South Africa and has already appeared in other countries, including the U.S. In South Africa, new reported cases of the coronavirus have spiked from about 250 per day a month ago, to about 2,500 per day a week ago, to 11,500 yesterday. In three days, new coronavirus cases have nearly tripled, due to the emergence of the new variant. The tentative good news about this variant is that so far it doesn’t seem to be causing highly serious illness.

I used to think that Australians are a freedom-loving people, but that has turned out not to be true. Crocodile Dundee is dead; Pajama Boy now rules. For many months, Australia has labored under one of the world’s most extreme, and most destructive, shutdown regimes. Its national and state governments have pursued the irrational dream of banning a virus from their shores. Good luck with that: it isn’t going to happen. So, for the last year and more, Australia has been home to demonstrations, protests, and often extreme state responses to those demonstrations. Vaccine hysteria and masks are bad enough, but Australia actually has camps

Senate lawmakers voted Thursday night to approve a bill that funds the government through Feb. 18, avoiding a government shutdown with roughly 24 hours to spare despite a partisan clash regarding President Biden's federal vaccine mandate. The Senate voted 69-28 in favor of the continuing resolution, which approves government funding at the prior year’s levels until a new bipartisan agreement is reached. The resolution includes $7 billion in new funding to support Afghan refugees. The bill now proceeds to Biden’s desk for final approval.

There are self-owns and then there are glorious self-owns, and the cast and crew in the Biden administration have gotten unquestionably good at committing the “glorious” varieties of such things over the last 11 months. For instance, there was the one over the summer where the White House Twitter account actually bragged about the price of BBQs going down a whole 16 cents from the year prior. For those who missed it, take a look: I mean assuming it was even true, is that something anyone would want to strut on social media over? The new iteration of MPP will include several key changes, including that court proceedings would "generally" conclude after six months, increased transparency for migrants enrolled in MPP, improved asylum proceedings and greater access to legal counsel before and during
