As Ed has already pointed out this morning, you can’t always tell from oral arguments what Supreme Court Justices are thinking, much less where they will land in a final decision. But that doesn’t stop media outlets of all stripes from doing their best to read the room. And there seems to be general agreement from those who listened to the arguments this morning that there’s not a lot of good news here for abortion supporters. First up is Nina Totenberg at NPR:
The right to an abortion in the United States appeared to be on shaky ground as a divided Supreme Court

I pray John Roberts finds his balls. Same for Amy Coney Barrett. They should go with Clarence Thomas on this one.

If true the hysteria and teeth gnashing on the left, especially among the marxicrat media collective, will be a sight to behold….it’ll be epic.

John Roberts doesn't have any balls, nor a spine to hang them on.

They have whiffed on any decision involving a little intestinal fortitude. Roberts is gutless. Right now I'm thinking roe is safe, unllke the babies in question.

I'll wager that they aren't going to end Roe V Wade. Because the Supremes seem to be more concerned with not appearing to be political than doing the right thing. Other than that, I'm not making predictions.

Abortion is the left’s most sacred sacrament. It defines who they are. They ultimately want the right to decide who lives and who dies. If we keep going down this road our future is bleak because they will have legislated God out of every aspect of society. We do not want to live in that world. I pray that the decision comes down on the side of life because humans do not have the authority to make these decisions. 66M innocent babies have been sacrificed on the Democrat’s altar of abortion. Enough. Could this decision be the catalyst for restoring our nation? I certainly hope so. No nation can commit such genocide and expect to be blessed by God. I pray for this country. We need to get this right.

This would be epic, and possibly change the course of things, but it's hard for me to imagine after the cowardice they displayed when the Marxists stole the presidency.

I, frankly don't think so. It will be too wrenching and unsettling. The SCOTUS does not like that. IMO, CJ Roberts will go for a middle of the road solution that loosens the absolute stranglehold that Roe has enjoyed over State laws. Giving them more 'wiggle room' to test the waters.

Roberts, Barrett and Kavanaugh are all Catholics. I wonder if they are willing to risk their mortal souls to appease the left.

It is about time some restraints were put on abortion. At the very least, when you pass the point when the fetus (AKA, baby) can survive outside the womb, you have crossed the line from abortion to murder. The attempts in recent years to include killing a baby several days after birth as abortion are truly deplorable.

Sotomayor is concerned about the reputation of the Court, not the Constitution. There is precedent for the Court to overturn previous decisions - else blacks would still be considered property.
Not so wise this Latina - purely political.

It should not be up to the Courts (or the government) to decide what constitutes a viable pregnancy. They are not qualified to judge that. Their job is to rule on the constitutionality of the law. There is not nor has there ever been a constitutional right to get an abortion. That is the real point. Let the people rule on this in each State.

Radical lefty women are already wringing their hands in horror. Sheila Jackson Lee just gave another one of her heart-wrenching slavery speeches. Between abortion and the streets of our inner cities one would think that they want to be free to kill their young in very large numbers. Doing it while they are babies does save ammunition but it's still just as immoral and wrong.

#3, Robert's balls have been in somebody's vise since Trump was elected. Kavanaugh and Barrett turned out like the new candidate, Ho, say one thing and do another, just like Biden and all good democrats do. How can you claim to be a good, honest person and not condone the killing of babies? How about people who do not want any more children have their reproductive organs permanently disabled?

There are 3 fake Catholics on the Court: Roberts, Kavanaugh, and Barrett. They will uphold Roe v Wade and Pope Libtard the First will tell them they can take Holy Communion.

Roe/Casey will be retained by at least Roberts, Bryer, Kagan. Sotomayor, and Barrett.
Thomas, Alito and Kavanaugh will vote to overrule.
Gorsuch is too close to call.

As one who thinks Marbury v Madison should be reversed first: this should not be the court's business.
SCOTUS has a legitimate role as the final court of appeal - IN INDIVIDUAL CASES. But legislation (which overturning existing law) is the job of the Federal (God help us) and state legislatures. Period.
Courts should properly remand Constitutional issues back to the appropriate legislatures with recommendations to reconsider, detailing the court's concerns. Those legislatures should be given a time limit to change the law - or the law will STAND and the court must rule accordingly. (No filibustering.) This, of course, will require a Constitutional amendment via the "normal" process or a Convention of States.
Hamilton was right: the judicial oligarchy must be curtailed.

For all intents and purposes, this won't outlaw abortion in the nation. Overturning Roe will toss it back into the laps of the 50 states, which is where it should have stayed in the first place back in the day. But there are too many conservative states out there that will immediately outlaw abortion in their individual state, and that is what is going to cause the liberal protests and meltdowns. Nothing like forcing people to grow up and take personal responsibility for their own behavior, right?

The only downside to overturning R v W is it will add fuel to the dim's fire for packing the court. But first things first. Let's advocate for the unborn.
