Energy costs for electric customers are going up by as much as 50% across Pennsylvania next week, the latest manifestation of across-the-board energy price increases impacting gasoline, heating oil, propane, and natural gas. Eight Pennsylvania electric utilities are set to increase their energy prices on Dec. 1, reflecting the higher cost to produce electricity. Peco Energy, which serves Philadelphia and its suburbs, will boost its energy charge by 6.4% on Dec. 1, from 6.6 cents per kilowatt hour to about 7 cents per kWh. Energy charges account for about half of a residential bill.

The electric power rate increase of 0.4 per kWh is 5.1%, quite a stretch from 50 percent. 7 cents per kWh is a bargain if the number is accurate.

It looks like 2021 is shaping up to be a crappy year. Energy costs are going to skyrocket across the country in the next few weeks and food prices are set to increase as well. The democrats have no plan except to increase spending. Biden is incapable of anything and Harris is worse. You are going to see and hear complete outrage across the country and things could become very unstable and violent. That is just on the domestic side. On the international side, the winds of war are beginning to pick up speed and would serve as a great distraction while at the same time justifying rationing. We are in for a dark winter!

I've used PA power switch for years, and have saved significantly over PECO...until now. I received my renewal notice from AEP due to take place on 12/2 and they are 2 cents per KWH over PECO for the renewal. Of course I tried calling AEP to discuss the situation and they are "closed for the Holidays". Bottom line, if you live in a state that allows competition by suppliers, by all means do some shopping around. Let's go Brandon.

The gas comes from western Penn. Marcellus fracked fields, but the power generated goes right back that way, through Penn. to replace shut down coal plants in Conn./Maryland/and delaware, sold through the PJM grid. Stage 2 is even larger and being built right next door. PJM RKO also ships electricity to parts of illinois, though most of that state is hooked to the Midwest ISO grid.

The Central Planners are offended by middle class folks living a comfortable, pleasant, warm-in-winter, cool-in-summer, drive wherever you want to, lifestyle. The surest way to get rid of all that "waste" on the middle class is to price all energy so high that we are reduced to poorly heated and poorly cooled smaller homes, smaller cars, or short range EVs. And no fancy food like, for example. a steak......for the middle classes. This is no accident. This is their plan.

President Biden on Tuesday addressed the nation on what his handlers billed as “Remarks on Ending the War in Afghanistan.” Biden, who was careful to read the words someone else wrote for him and uploaded to the teleprompter, celebrated the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan as a huge success, touting the number of Americans airlifted out of the country and claiming that only a handful remain. His tone was almost jubilant as he defended the decisions of his administration while claiming that everyone from the military brass to the State Department was in full agreement about the botched withdrawal.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost sued the Biden administration Wednesday, saying the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package signed last week forces states to choose between receiving funding and lowering taxes. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, seeks a preliminary injunction against part of the American Rescue Plan Act. Yost said Congress exceeded its authority when it added the so-called tax mandate to the stimulus plan "at the last minute." Advertisement "The federal government should be encouraging states to innovate and grow business, not holding vital relief funding hostage to its preferred pro-tax policies," Yost said.

Democrats have long wanted the government to parent or co-parent your children, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that President Joe Biden said the quiet part out loud Monday night. Is the administration upset that you might be spending too much time with your family? The statement is also rather vague. The “nearly 2 million” number, I assume, represents the 1.8 million-woman reduction in our labor force during the COVID-19 pandemic. But it’s untrue to claim this loss is only due to women leaving work to care for a family member. There are myriad reasons why the pandemic and government-induced shutdowns could have diminished the female workforce.
