California Sued Over Law Forcing Appointment

A conservative think tank filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against California to halt a law that will force quotas on publicly held corporations headquartered in the state, requiring them to appoint board members based solely on their race and sexual orientation. The legislation at issue is the fruit of last year’s race riots that caused more than $2 billion in property damage and were organized nationwide by Black Lives Matter and Antifa. The lawsuit, National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR) v. Weber, was filed on Nov. 22 (snip) Defendant Shirley Weber, a radical left-wing academic before entering politics, is being sued in her official capacity as California secretary of state.

In the early 70's I worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield. It was a good first job and I learned a lot. But there was one problem and I am afraid certain idiots are bringing it back. We had to meet a quota for black employees in each department. Didn't make any difference if they were qualified for the job, or had seniority. If a black person left a black had to be hired. For whatever reason some bean counter believed that being qualified for a certain position was unnecessary. It did not go well. A lot of qualified, talented people left because it was impossible for them to move up with those parameters in place. Diversity in and of itself means nothing. If I need brain surgery I do not care about the diversity of the team, I want the best no matter what they look like. Be them all black, Asian women, or the local homosexual brain surgery team. The best. We have lost our minds once again. There are no prizes for being the most stupid but I have to put CA in the lead.

Someone needs to dig up MLK and hook a generator to his body, because you know he is spinning in his grave about 1,000 miles per hour!!! So everyone who applies needs to say they are a minority and homosexual. If they ask you to prove it, scream racism and homophobia.

#8 -- But that will take months or even years to get to the SCOTUS. How many much higher qualified people will not get jobs under this most grievous of "affirmative action" plans? And how much will society as a whole in Cuba-fornia suffer from all the incompetent people that get jobs just because they have the right color skin or like to have things shoved up exit orifices?!?!?!? Lie-berals know this. That's why they do it. They don't care if it's right or moral or legal. They know once they do it, the chances of it ever getting changed (except maybe to be even worse) are slim to none.

Amid uncertainties around the Omicron variant of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins said it will take weeks before scientists understand how effective the vaccines are at protecting against it. NEW DELHI—The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been building up a new kind of presence in the hotly disputed border region with India via a civilian resettlement strategy, according to Indian experts. The CCP’s “well-off society” strategy involves building well-off villages in the name of elevating people from poverty and revitalizing rural communities. Experts say, however, that these villages play an additional role in the Tibet Autonomous Region that shares thousands of miles of disputed border with India. They say the villages act as tools for the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) surveillance, border defense, and border domination, and, along with the the regime’s new land border law, are attempts at legitimizing the

We’ve all heard the line about winning the “hearts and minds” of the population being the key to winning a war. Over the past several generations the Left has been busy doing exactly that. They’re organized and they’ve taken over virtually every societal institution that has the ability to influence hearts and minds—especially government run education at every level. They’ve also taken over far too much of the government and, when they have the ability, they use government money—your money—to fund themselves through myriad “community action” organizations. They’ve largely taken control over the permanent government bureaucracy, thanks to decades old court rulings that ban “religious” tests—or, in effect, common decency

First off, no one can blame streaming. This is a theatrical-only release. Secondly, no one can blame the pandemic. Plenty of movies are opening just fine. How bad is this? Oh, it’s bad. By comparison, one of Disney’s biggest bombs, The Good Dinosaur, grossed $55.4 million over the five-day Thanksgiving weekend.
