Russia has warned it can obliterate Nato satellites with its new 'Star Warrior' technology to render the West's GPS-guided missiles useless in the latest provocation in its stand-off with Ukraine.
State TV last night claimed Moscow's anti-satellite (ASAT) missiles could destroy 32 Nato satellites and 'blind all their missiles, planes and ships, not to mention the ground forces.' The ASAT technology was tested on a defunct Soviet satellite last week, sending shrapnel flying towards the International Space Station (ISS), and provoking outrage from NASA and Washington. This was a warning shot to the West, state TV claimed.(Snip)The White House on Monday said it had 'serious concerns'

Remember when President Trump established Space Force? Remember how Dems laughed at him...made fun of the uniforms? Remember how everything was fine... we had nothing to worry about??? Wonder if they feel like a bunch of asshats now.

To answer OP's question. Some of the money went to put urinals in the lady's rooms and tampon machines in the gents. Then changed the signs on the doors to say...whatever.

Yes, but does the Russian military have the "proper" bathroom colors for the transgender group? The US military will come to a standstill when deciding the proper eating utensils for the tri-sexual recruits.

The Russians will not need to blind satelittes or any other NATO sensors. The resident in the White House has already been paid off. He and our woke generals will roll over and let Putin take Ukraine - problem solved for any further investigations in 2022 or 24. Watch for a Russian then Chinese move, maybe throw the NorKs in and Mullahs too. Simply overwhelm lunch bucket Joe with more than one crisis and our advesaries will paralyze our ability to react. I am more convinced than ever it will happen before the mid-terms - the commies (both internal and external) know the clock is ticking and they need to grab all they can before it is too late.

And THAT is why I still have a land line phone. It doesn't get used much, but when the Russians or (more likely) the Chinese take out our communications satellites, it may come in handy. At least for local calls.

Don’t worry Biden’s “woke” LGBTQ mess kit repair battalions will head off any attempt by the Russian military to successfully invade Ukraine. Once the Russian military observes Biden’s battalions raising up their “Rainbow” flags the Russian military will retreat back into the hills as they will fear being “corn-holed” by Biden’s LGBTQ commandos.

I began worrying years ago that we're putting way too much faith in our satellites. In a quiet world they work great at everything from locating Starbucks for the soccer moms to landing precision-guided munitions onto third-world targets in the desert. That's in a quiet world when no one is interfering with them. Would really like to know the back-up strategy when the Chinese deny us the capability through either hard kills or electronic interference. Although, with no long-range communications it would take control of the battle away from the Pentagon and return it to the on-scene commanders - and that wouldn't be a bad thing.

Recognizing the threat to America posed by Russia, etc, Biden immediately takes oil from the USA's strategic reserves which are secured aside for national emergencies such as an enemy attack against our country?! Put in smiles. Biden created the oil shortage for the USA when he started importing oil from the Middle East since he is shutting down production here?! ...Dem pols ALWAYS create problems where none exist so that when the inevitable negative result occurs they can then get to address the situation in a lefty political way advantageous to them and their socialist agenda of power. It is becoming questionable to assume dem pols have America's best interests at heart when their policies only do harm!

I might remind Russia that the GPS birds are 12000 miles up, not some low orbit like they tested 250 miles up. Also new ones will be able to avoid ASAT, also some will be 25000 miles up.
Might also remind them if you blind us like that we would have to assume we are being attacked by nukes and respond in kind.

There are several errors or misrepresentations in this article:
1. GPS satellites are designed, launched, operated and paid for by the US military, NOT NATO.
2. The Russian anti-satellite missile was successfully tested against a Russian satellite (Tselina-D #38). Tselina satellites are typically deployed an an orbit of less than 600 km while GPS satellites are deployed in an orbit of approximately 20,000 km, or over three times the orbital distance of Tselina satellites. No successful Russian anti-satellite tests at GPS altitudes have been reported.
3. Interception and destruction of orbiting GPS satellites requires the launch of multiple anti-satellite weapons. These launches are (a) expensive, (b) easily detected and identified and (3) initiated from a few launch sites whose positions are well known and vulnerable. Although technically possible, interception and destruction of all 32 GPS satellites is not practical compared to alternative methods such as jamming GPS signals.
4. Although GPS pioneered continuous, world-wide, precision, satellite-based navigation, other countries have developed and deployed similar navigation satellite systems, including Russia (GLONASS), China (BIDOU), Eropean Union (Galileo), etc.
America must remain vigilant and prepared, but the situation is not as dire as implied in this article.

Correction:
GPS satellite orbital altitudes are over THIRTY (not three) times the orbital altitudes of Tselina satellites.

President Reagan wanted a missle defense system which the media lampooned as "Star Wars"
Reagan's plan was to either get them in the silos, after launch but before going into space, destroy them before the warheas "mirved" to create multiple warheads, and as a final result attempt to blow up the mirved warhead with space shrapnel .... The Russkies wanted to have something in Space to knock them out.
Reagan offered to share the tecnology with Gorbachev to protect BOTH nations from some crackpot over riding the system to launch.
In October 1962, there were over 60 missles in Cuba of which we latter learned had about 1/3 of them OPERATIONAL. Had General LeMay NOT been reeled in by JFK, there would have been nuclear war. He had already on his own authority taken us to Defcon 2 without authorization from the President.
In testing their anti-missle missle, they have so much "space junk" out there the ISS Astronauts and Cosmonauts had to take shelter in their return vehicles.
And we have work imbecils who are not loyal to their call like General Milleyque toast... yeegods!

Might not hurt to have some old CB radios on hand just in case. Also, 5 watt handheld radios that can be programmed for any VHF frequency can be had dirt cheap. Not exactly legal, but could be very useful.

The Russian critics always criticized the United States. They would call the USA decadent. Beginning to think they might be right. Ever try fighting a modern war with 20–30-year-old technology? You lose.

Every country had better remind themselves that it really doesn't matter who has the most efficient systems. If anyone starts a nuclear war, there are so many missiles that the whole world will be drastically affected an no one wins.
