Alaska Republican Gov. Mike Dunleavy needs allies. Within 10 months, D.C. Democrats have obstructed logging activity in the Alaska’s southeast Tongasss National Forest, stalled progress on a life-saving road for remote residents to reach an all-weather airport in Cold Bay, cancelled oil and gas leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), and suspended new drilling activity in a state home to 60 percent of federal land. (snip) “They view Alaska as their own national park to save for mankind,” Dunleavy said(snip)Passage of the Democrats’ latest colossal reconciliation bill would make reinstated protections for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) permanent.

It could work if so many Republican governors weren’t wimpy RINOs. IMO it’s really the only way to push back, the states have enough power, individuals don’t.

We have a document that combats federal overreach , we don't have politicians with the balls to exercise their sworn obligation.

Yes, a state coalition could work. In the meantime Alaska has a senator that is not working on the state's behalf. They should consider a change.

The Federal Government is limited to enumerated powers in the Constitution--if it is not stated as a Federal power they don't have that power in DC. Case in point the Vaccine Mandate--nowhere in the Constitution is it an enumerated Federal power for vaccines . The Constitution doesn't give that power to the Federal Government. The States have the real power within their state. The courts over the years have degraded the rights of states in court decisions in cooperation with the Congress adding to the problem. States need to reassert their power now as a state when the Feds try to grab power beyond their enumerated powers and tell the Feds to pound sand.

In the fullness of time, the past year may be looked upon as the year the future of America was decided in courtrooms. The Rittenhouse trial is the latest big court case to expose the massive cultural rift in the country. (snip) What all of these cases and some others have in common is they are tests of the civic nationalist theory of politics. Civic nationalism is the argument that a country can be organized around a set of ideas, rather than people and land. The citizens, rather than connected by blood and history, are connected by ideas. Perhaps there is a rule book somewhere that says you must not point out that all of the San Francisco looters who hit Nordstrom and Louis Vuitton are black. There are hundreds of media reports talking about the brazen nature of the ongoing mob and rob situations, but no one seems to point out what they all have in common. All of the people doing the robbing are black. Here’s an example of CBS outlining a massive mob-n-rob of Nordstroms(snip)Look at how this media report shared the news: …”Just before 9 p.m. dozens of cars pulled up to 1200 Broadway Plaza to block off the street and rush into store.”

“No worst, there is none,” wrote the poet Gerard Manley Hopkins, about human states of mind. If he were alive today, he might write, “No most absurd, there is none,” about our current contortions of language. In a publication aimed at dermatologists, the Dermatology Times, we read in an article devoted to the treatment of the skin in transgender patients the following: Patients of reproductive potential who are not…abstinent with penis-containing partners, 2 forms of contraception are required. In other words, women who would like to be men but still have their ovaries and wombs can become pregnant by sexual intercourse with fertile men, the latter now being known as “penis-containing” persons.

A difficult political atmosphere for President Joe Biden may have become even more treacherous with the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse. Biden was already facing sliding poll numbers with an electorate worn down by the coronavirus pandemic and increasing inflation. Now, the president finds himself caught between outraged Democrats — some of whom were already stewing over Biden’s inability to land police reform and voting rights legislation — and Republicans looking to use the Rittenhouse case to exploit the national divide over matters of grievance and race. “This is one of the last things Biden wants to be engaging in at this moment as he tries to finish up the big Build Back

Barack Obama and Eric Holder did not create a weaponized DOJ and FBI; the institutions were already weaponized by the Patriot Act. Instead, what Obama and Holder did was to take the preexisting system and retool it so the weapons of government only targeted one side of the political continuum. This point is where many people understandably get confused. In the era shortly after 9/11, the DC national security apparatus was constructed to preserve continuity of government and simultaneously view all Americans as potential threats. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) were created specifically for this purpose. What Barack Obama and Eric Holder
