Alec Baldwin “intentionally” fired a gun toward cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the “Rust” movie set, disregarding set protocol in the deadly shooting, according to a 30-page lawsuit filed on Wednesday by the film’s script supervisor. Mamie Mitchell, the script supervisor on set when Baldwin shot and killed Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza on Oct. 21, is suing the actor, the movie production company and others for assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress and deliberate infliction of harm.(Snip)“Alec Baldwin intentionally, without just cause or excuse, cocked and fired and loaded gun even though the upcoming scene to be filmed did not call for the cocking and firing

If the scene being filmed didn't involve firing a shot, why were there any rounds in it, blank or otherwise?

What is her standing? What injuries did she suffer? She doesn’t say.
After $$$$.

Intent is for the jury to decide, but regardless of that, Baldwin fired the fatal shot. He took the action. He ccked the hammer, he pointed the muzzle at the victim, and he pulled the trigger. Period.
He did not follow any sort of basic gun safety, choosing instead to put his own life and freedom in the hands of a hack director that was already well known to be very soft on safety. He could have checked the weapon himself, and chose not to. He could have not pulled back the hammer, but did. He could have not pointed the weapon in an unsafe direction, but did. He could have not pulled the trigger, but did.
The responsibility is his.

So he fired the gun.
My question was what standing does this woman have for a civil lawsuit claiming injury, etc., etc…? I couldn’t find any injury.
She could be a prosecution witness, but this is about her personal lawsuit for damages.. I’m not seeing that.

Her attorney is Gloria Allred! Big trouble for little Alec. The scene did not call for the firing of a gun.
I find it interesting the incident took place inside a church. Images of the scene inside and outside of the building will shown all over the world. God works in mysterious ways...and He has a great PR department!

Normally, I don't root for anyone who hires Gloria Allred as their attorney.
But in this case, I'll make an exception. You go, girl!

I wish someone would mention how she was injured. The basis for her claim of personal injury.

Emotional distress - the ambulance chaser's wet dream. Gloria the Red smells money. Not sure that its going to be that easy to prove that he intended to inflict emotional distress on this person. That may have been the result, but proving intent is a whole other animal. I don't think she's got that good of a case for that, but maybe there's more than we are being told about how he acted right up until the time the gun discharged.

#1 - Perhaps because it was a revolver, "ammo" needed to be visible for the camera shot.

Why were there any live rounds on the set of a movie?
The only need for a live rounds is target practice (and the make special cheaper bullets for that) or shoot and kill whatever is endangering your life.
If there is any other reason let me know.

Baldwin is a Communist/Democrat and has been outspoken against guns, yet he was the producer of a film where people working on the movie were allowed to have real guns and used them to shoot at tins cans between takes. He was making a movie in which the He is guilty on so many levels. He needs some jail time for sure.

#2, I have not been able to find a copy of the suit to read exactly what her injuries are, but perhaps she is suffering from emotional trauma or distress, which damages are recoverable in a civil suit if she can prove it. I think that if I had witnessed what she supposedly did, I would have extreme distress from it.

Un mentioned in this article...she was the person who called 911, then was booted from the building, couldn't even tell the 911 operator what was going on with the victims. In the background of the 911 call she can be heard berating the AD and Baldwin, who had just come into the lunch room and screamed at her about rewrites...then went straight back and grabbed a gun and shot someone.

It has been a while since the last celebrity murder case. Too bad Baldwin will not be tried with all the hoopla trimmings in Los Angeles. It is always fun to see familiar faces, streets and buidings.

#1, in a revolver, the bullets in the end of the cartridge case are very close to the front of the cylinder, and are visible in any sort of a reasonably close shot. It's obvious that the gun is unloaded if the cylinders are empty holes, same for blanks which have no bullets. For some shots, for movies, they use 'dummy rounds', which are cartridges with a case and a bullet, but no powder or primer (which ignites the powder). These dummy rounds are usually very obviously marked so that live cartridges are not mistaken for dummy cartridges. Often subtantial holes drilled through the cartridge case, or a different colored case, or intentional indentations on the sides of the cases to physically distinguish them from live cartridges.
In semi-auto pistols, the cartridges, live or blank, are inside a magazine, not visible, so this is not a factor. Semi-autos were nonexistent in the 1880s, and when they did appear, so rare as to be essentially non-existent on the frontier until well after 1900.

Re: #11, occasionally, there is a shot of a person firing a gun, and the actual impact on the target. MOST of the time these are tiny 'squib' charges embedded in the target, and detonated to simulate a bullet impact. A classic example of this is the 'shooting a paper target' seen on modern TV shows....where the paper target literally explodes a 1" hole, paper torn TOWARDS the shooter.
Some movies clearly show a bullet striking a target....bottle, etc and apparently use live ammo. I recently saw a Glenn Ford movie where a shot at a cockroach was shown....and the shot was clearly a real bullet based on the bullet hole that instantly appeared and looked precisely like tens of thousands of them that I have created myself.
A rare need, to be sure, and no doubt all live ammo on a movie set should be extremely tightly controlled, under literal lock and key at all times. This was clearly not the case, but sabotage has not been ruled out, from what I know. But incompetents and incompetence are probably more likely than intentional malfeasance.

Go get him. He's an idiot. Live ammo on a movie set? Jeez!
I hope he is convicted of manslaughter, the producers are bankrupted, and that dippy woman armorer never works with anything other than cold, wet spaghetti ever again.

Joe kewl! Hates guns and anyone who is pro second amendment. I never doubted he was showing off with the gun and pulled the trigger. Desperate to be a man and condemned forever to be a murdering mental midget instead.
I have ZERO sympathy for any of them, most especially him. If you're that vocal about your hatred if guns then DON'T EVER TOUCH ONE.
Classic Hollywood. Ever bleating on about violence, guns etc. And then glorifying it to make money and get attention.
Meat puppets, the lot of them.

As soon as I saw that Gloria Allred was involved with it, I quit reading.
Any association with her automatically makes the case is a complete farce.

Gloria Allred and her dreary daughter, have to keep their names out in public. It is part of their business model.

double dittos on #11 - no idea why live ammo is anywhere near a movie set - suspect there is a ton of shucking and jiving as to just where it came from
