Adam Schiff, Steele dossier and the death
of shame in American politics

Original Article

The famous philosopher and mathematician Blaise Pascal once declared that "the only shame is to have none." The problem with shame is it assumes a sense of guilt over one's actions. In the age of rage, there appear fewer and fewer actions that are beyond the pale for politics. Take Adam Schiff and the Steele dossier. While even the Washington Post has admitted that it got the Russian collusion story wrong in light of the findings of Special Counsel John Durham, House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff, D-Calif., is still insisting that he was absolutely right to promote the discredited Steele dossier.

Schiff knew the dossier was fake from the start, and was in on the Democrat plot to get Trump. Criminals never regret their acts, only getting caught.

Isn't the ability not to have a sense of shame a requirement for Democrat leadership and their media lackeys?

Many Democrats have NO shame … count Schiff among those. But it goes further than that. Long-term insistence on a supposed reality that has no proof behind it, and then is actually disproven, seems to indicate a mental problem if that person will not recognize that he was wrong and that his party’s activists engineered the hoax.

Honor among thieves went extinct decades ago, about the time asshats like Alinsky became prominent. I'm surprised any shred of shame lasted in politics THIS long.

White House doctor is hiding Joe Biden’s

President Biden went for a colonoscopy Friday and his doctor pronounced his brain is fine. So now he and his inner sanctum have let it be known he plans to run again in 2024, when he would be 82. No one really believes any of it. For one thing, where is his cognitive test? That’s the question increasingly on American minds. It’s clear, from his often bizarre or befuddled behavior, that something is not quite right with the president, which is why 59 percent of voters want him to take a cognitive test and release the results, according to a new McLaughlin & Associates survey

Less than 24 hours after the Congressional Budget Office announced that the “Build Back Better” (BBB) bill will increase the federal deficit by $367 billion, House Democrats passed the $1.75 trillion legislation with no GOP votes. This bill, essentially a far left wish list of climate and social spending boondoggles, will certainly exacerbate inflation if passed by the Senate. Thus the absence of public support for BBB. A new Harvard/Harris poll asked registered voters, “Do you think a $1.5 to $2 trillion dollar social spending bill will lead to more inflation, less inflation, or would it have no effect on inflation?” A majority (56%) answered, “More.”

Roughly 12 months ago President Joe Biden became the first Democratic nominee to win Arizona’s Electoral College votes since 1996. Today, his job approval rating in the state is cratering. In a fresh poll from Arizona polling firm OH Predictive Insights, Biden garnered a 42% job approval rating. The president is doing even worse — 35% — with independents, a key voting bloc in a Southwestern battleground that has evolved into a bona fide swing state. Overall, 55% of Arizona voters disapprove of the job Biden is doing as commander in chief. Biden’s political troubles have not translated into an improvement in the standing of former President Donald Trump.

The full acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse is now in. The result was hardly a surprise to many of us who watched the trial rather than the media coverage. The jury spent days carefully considering the evidence and could not find a single count that was supported beyond a reasonable doubt. In rendering its verdict, the jury fulfilled its core function in our legal system. The jury was designed to protect an individual from becoming the grist of a criminal justice system. As the Supreme Court noted in Duncan v. Louisiana (1968): "Providing an accused with the right to be tried by a jury of his peers gave him an inestimable safeguard

Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia has become a purveyor of political wisdom these days, simply for speaking out for the sensible center. Earlier this month, he drove progressives crazy with another aphorism of common sense: “We can't go too far left. This is not a center-left or a left country. We are a center, if anything, center-right country." Denying that political reality is at the heart of the Democrats’ political problems these days. Party leaders seem genuinely to believe that they can win swing-state elections by mobilizing their base and tying every Republican to former President Trump. The strategy backfired badly in Virginia (and nearly in New Jersey)

During his closing argument on Monday, Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger called the crowd that had been rioting on the night of August 25, 2020, a crowd that "was full of heroes" because they were trying to stop an "active shooter," that shooter being Kyle Rittenhouse. "You know, we’ve had several police officers testify that in an active shooter situation, their first instinct, their first training is to go in and stop the threat. They don’t sit there and wonder, well, maybe it was self-defense. I don’t know, I’m going to, you know, wait and see. And every day we read about heroes that stop active shooters.
Biden’s Moribund Vaccine Mandate 11 replies

The Biden administration will inevitably ask the Supreme Court to review last Friday’s decision by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals to halt its vaccine mandate. The effort is likely to be futile, however. Writing for the appeals court, Judge Kurt Engelhardt confidently predicted that the mandate’s challengers “are likely to succeed on the merits” under judicial review. Engelhardt took particular exception to the attempt to impose the mandate through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), pointing out that the Constitution’s Commerce Clause and the nondelegation doctrine preclude OSHA from making such “sweeping pronouncements on matters of public health affecting every member of society in the profoundest of ways.”

As the 2022 midterms approach, the Democrats face what may well be an insurmountable obstacle blocking their attempt to retain their thin congressional majorities. The support they once enjoyed among nonwhite voters is softening. This phenomenon has been most obvious among Hispanics, but it is also true to a lesser extent among Black voters. It was the source of considerable comment after the 2020 election, when Trump made unexpected gains with minorities, and the trend was again evident in the recent Virginia elections. This unnerved the Democrats and their media allies who have reflexively resorted to scare tactics involving white supremacy.

It was hard to watch Kyle Rittenhouse break down during almost five hours in the witness box Wednesday. Over and over, he was forced to relive the traumatic evening of August 25, 2020, when he was chased by a murderous antifa mob and ended up shooting dead two of his attackers and wounding a third in riot-plagued Kenosha, Wis. He was 17 at the time. Taking a life bears heavily on any normal person, and the baby-faced teen was overcome with emotion as he recounted the moment when he found himself cornered, an angry mob in front of him, and an aggressive Joseph Rosenbaum lunging for his rifle.

It feeds into the ongoing narrative that white supremacy was the reason for the Democratic Party’s drumming, not that the party has gone way off the deep end on—everything. We all know that it’s about the narrative, not the facts. We know this from past false liberal narratives that have been torched to death. On this, Democrats have known for years that they need to reach out better to rural voters. They can’t ignore small-town America. It’s the parents, stupid. A week ago tonight, as I watched the returns in Virginia from my home in North Carolina, snippets of my reporting from around the country over the course of this past year began to feel more and more like a trail of so many predictive cookie crumbs: The centrality of schools already back in the spring in the uber-political battlefield of Ron DeSantis’ Florida. The nonstop drumbeat of the talk about school boards every time I went to Ohio. Even just the consternation about masks or no masks in schools within the chatter of the crowd at a Senate campaign event in late August

Whatever the jury decides, I’m afraid, will fail to address a damming question that the tragic incident symbolizes: How can Black people ever be secure in America? Executed by three strangers while jogging in a white neighborhood, Arbery’s killing reflects the mindset of domination in the culture of white supremacy: the belief that any random white person has the right to accost and detain a Black person with impunity.
