LOS ANGELES — President Joe Biden announced a deal last month to establish around-the-clock operations at the Port of Los Angeles, the nation’s largest, to break an unprecedented container ship traffic jam blamed for driving up consumer prices. But that hasn’t happened yet. Port of Los Angeles Executive Director Gene Seroka said in an online briefing Tuesday that the sprawling complex has “24/7 capability,” but a shortage of truck drivers and nighttime warehouse workers pose problems in establishing a nonstop schedule, along with getting importers to embrace expanded hours. “It’s an effort to try to get this entire orchestra of

Joe and Pete do not understand supply chains. The results are there for all to see. They are feckless.

I seem to recall demonrats clamoring to have trump to order companies to produce ventilators through the defense production act even though companies were producing more ventilators than they could. Where is that clamor now for biden to order 24/7 unloading through the defense production act; the rats must have wanted some negative talking point against trump if he did.

Biden is a sick and cruel joke that has been forced on this country and it’s citizens. He’s a disgusting, vile little “ man”, incapable of honesty, morality or ethics. His goal, and those truly directing this foul administration is destruction of America. They are doing a bang up job so far.

A lot of trucks are not allowed in California because of environmental restrictions. This affects about 50% of all trucks. These truck are allowed in other states.

Was at a port event today, and one of the terminal operators said they only had 39 containers picked up after 10pm.
The port is chocking on empty containers, and they're trying to find places to put them since they aren't being evacuated by the carriers who brought them in, partly due to the pressure to maintain some U.S. export shipments which are all heavy, and reduces the operational capacity due to dead weight concerns for the vessel.
Yes, they have a trucker issue too but more due to the AB5 law that restricts independent contractors - this law is pending court challenge, but has not been ruled on with SCOTUS yet. No one will waive that law until an actual ruling. Long-time goal of the unions to organize the port trucking.
Harbor Trucking Association reports roughly 9000 containers still sitting on chassis in their truck yards, and that does not count those out at warehouses or big-box retailers.
24/7 is not a solution and there are no quick fixes.

It's a California problem. They killed the trucking industry with the stupid regulations. It doesn't matter how fast you unload the ships if there is no place to put the cargo.

Biden you cheater, how ignorant can you be, pal. There is a reason why there are not enought semi truck tractors available to haul goods from port to their destination. You might, in a moment of coherance, review the lawsuit that EPA filed against California's air quality control board and the trucking companies mandating that only newer so-called cleaner tractors could be used to haul goods. Consequently, there are thousands of older tractors parked in a field that can't be used. You understand? Got it, pal?

Dementia Jo simply displayed his inability to understand complex problems.
Peter the Homosexual is not much better, but perhaps a problem can be worded so that he can relate to it.
Let's try.
Peter, imagine this.
You go to Man's World bath house in Chicago, and want to have random sex with 27 men. But 19 of the 27 men can't find parking spaces, because a former president and his convoy are filling up the parking lot.
How would you solve the logjam?

a serious solution would be to temporarily waive all epa and kalifornika air pollution restrictions. Of course sane legislaors and bureaucrats would have never passed the egregious measures

Good idea, #14....but make it permanent. And remove Crazyfornia's special rule to permit it's own lunatic air regulations. All of that should be 50 states, identical, and not chosen by the looney tunes in Cali.

The plan was never intended to work because the fix wasn't allowed to occur. California is banning trucks from operating within it's border because of a green climate law put in place by the demosluts in California. So trucks that don't meet California's new emission standards aren't allowed to cross state lines and come into California. This is clearly an interstate commerce issue that buttboy and Biteme could solve at any time.

Biden wants shortages. He has no intentions to run the LA port 24/7. This is part of his plan.

Not to mention the growing icejam of empty containers. If somebody with the authority doesn't soon decide that operating the supply chain is more important than California's clean air pipe dream, it's all going to come crashing down. The big question is whether Chasten and Pete's baby will be getting enough attention during the crash. The timely arrival of baby formula will be critical given that either daddy doesn't have the equipment to provide alternate nourishment.
