An MSNBC host has sparked outrage after she claimed that Americans saved money during lockdown so should be able to afford expensive groceries—even as the Labor Department reports biggest increase in the cost of living in three decades. 'The dirty little secret here, Willie, while nobody likes to pay more, on average, we have the money to do so,' MSNBC business correspondent Stephanie Ruhel told anchor Willie Geist on NBC. 'Household savings hit a record high over the pandemic, we didn't really have anywhere to go out and spend,' she added.(Snip)Rahul argued that retail prices and market values going up are proof that while the current inflation is
She really knows how to start a fight doesn't she? What an insulting host she is, but then this is MSNBC. Heavy on the NBC. You think they aren't wishing they could say the same stuff she does?

Saved money during the pandemic? People have been suffering. Now this woman thinks it is okay for people to suffer more. What the hell?! She is out of touch. Does she have children to feed, clothe, and put through college? Is she on a fixed income as senior citizens are? This woman is an insensitive idiot.
TV shock jock is all this woman is.

Typical elitist democrat. If the price of gas went to $20 a gallon she wouldn't have to worry.

We're dreading our next trip to the grocery store. Every single item is costing more. And I've noticed the 'day old bread' section is getting bought up really fast anymore.

Did she get her economics degree from the same university where AOC got hers?

I'm going to put down my rocks and wait until Gutfeld rips her. If she can still walk after that we can go get her. What a new name Snarli B. MSNBC could probably save half her salary, if they did some creative investigation.

Let them eat cake! It worked real well for Marie Antoinette. If Democrats think this will work for them, they better think again. Household savings are high so prices can go up? Bet the Biden Bunch adopted that as actual policy.
People like this are so far out of touch with reality its not even funny. It really shows. She's suppose to be a 'social influencer'? She wouldn't be the last person I listen to because I would never listen to her at all.

Her net worth (not counting her husband's) is over $5 million. Nothing is a problem for her to purchase. The interest she collects monthly is probably more than most of us make in a year. I do not begrudge her wealth I begrudge that she thinks we are really this stupid. I don't know how much she "saved" during the pandemic but I assume it's a bit more than the peasants she believes we are.

So the empty shelves at stores during the lockdowns were actually a cost-savings for households? Stephanie's such a tool for the Bolsheviks.

I think anchor Willie Geist knew Ruhle’s remarks were tone deaf. In the video, his closing comment was “. . . . in the meantime it is brutal to fill up your tank of gas.”
Ruhle might think she was helping Biden with her editorial, but this is damaging. As referenced above, Gutfeld is going to rip her, as will other Fox hosts.

Remember, they hate you, and they want you poorer and with limited capacity for enjoying life, travel and freedom. One way to make sure that only the 'elites' can afford the pleasant things in life is to increase the costs until we can't afford any of it.
They hate Americans living well and freely.

Clearly, Ms. Ruhle is unaware that about 58% of Americans don’t have $600 in savings. She lives in a bubble.

From a 1978 Saturday Night Live skit with Dan Aykroyd as Jimmy Carter:
"Inflation is our friend.
For example, consider this: in the year 2000, if current trends continue, the average blue-collar annual wage in this country will be $568,000. Think what this inflated world of the future will mean – most Americans will be millionaires. Everyone will feel like a bigshot. Wouldn’t you like to own a $4,000 suit, and smoke a $75 cigar, drive a $600,000 car? I know I would!
But what about people on fixed incomes? They have always been the true victims of inflation. That’s why I will present to Congress the “Inflation Maintenance Program”, whereby the U.S. Treasury will make up any inflation-caused losses to direct tax rebates to the public in cash.
Then you may say, “Won’t that cost a lot of money? Won’t that increase the deficit?”
Sure it will! But so what? We’ll just print more money! We have the papers, we have the mints..
I can just call up the Bureau of Engraving and say, “Hi! This is Jimmy. Roll out some of them twenties! Print up a couple thousand sheets of those Century Notes!”
Sure, all these dollars will cause even more inflation, but who cares? Everyone will be a millionaire!"

A recent story disclosed that military families in which the soldier/sailor/airman was in the lower four pay grades, deal with food insecurity. Yes, they might not have enough to eat—their earnings are too low.
Even worse, for government rule reasons, they were not eligible for SNAP benefits. This gormless twit is so self-absorbed, she’ll never know, or care.

If your restaurant closed, you did not save money. If the gym that employed you as a trainer closed, you did not save money. If you were a landlord who could not evict non-paying tenants, you did not save money. Is a lobotomy required to work at MSNBC?

In the type of full communist system she desires, this worthless entertainer would be paid very little. But she, and Janet, and Jerome, and others like them say, we can afford whatever we like, and it's your own fault if you cannot. "Let them eat cake" being the subtext, but we're too stupid to grasp it.
