The Queen was forced to miss the Remembrance Sunday ceremony today for the first time in 22 years due to a back injury, Buckingham Palace said, adding she is 'disappointed' to miss the event. The palace said the 95-year-old monarch made the decision on Sunday morning 'with great regret' and is 'disappointed' to miss the event. Queen Elizabeth had planned on attending the Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph in London on Sunday and it would have marked her first in-person public engagement since she was advised to rest following a night in hospital last month.

Comments:

Not good. Prayers for her health.

Maybe she feared being attacked by all of the foreign New Britons who were imported into dangerous Londonistan and elsewhere during her reign.

My 95 year old Mom who is in marvelous shape says oh for heavens sake at these dramatic DM articles. Elizabeth has been on a greatly pared down schedule for quite some time now. The Palace statement several years ago said Charles handles much of the day-to-day business. Sometimes our aged simply are not having the sort of day they wish to go out. Its perfectly fine, bless her. The DM I guess need to write something as none of the Royals are really seen all that much.

Residents of a San Francisco condo building where units sell for $1million say they’re living in fear after an adjoining alleyway became the city’s biggest homeless encampment. The massive tent city - occupied by a feces-hurling man and an assortment of other untoward characters - is paces away from The Artani, an eight-story Van Ness Avenue complex where residents say they’re being spooked by a growing number of vagrant neighbors. Condo resident Amber Lusko said the encampment, exacerbated by the COVID pandemic, has drawn rats, thieves, and mentally unstable adults who are turning their neighborhood into a state of bedlam.

China's growing military muscle and its drive to end American predominance in the Asia-Pacific is rattling the U.S. defense establishment. American officials see trouble quickly accumulating on multiple fronts — Beijing's expanding nuclear arsenal, its advances in space, cyber and missile technologies, and threats to Taiwan. 'The pace at which China is moving is stunning,' said General John Hyten, the No. 2-ranking U.S. military officer, who previously commanded U.S. nuclear forces and oversaw Air Force space operations. At stake is a potential shift in the global balance of power that has favored the United States for decades.

An intellectual life where it is no longer a question of deciding between error and truth, but between good and evil ”. Thus, in Le Figaro, the great French historian Georges Bensoussan defines the "hold" of Islamism on public opinion. His "fault" four years ago was declaring on the radio that Muslim immigrants absorb anti-Semitism from an early age like mother's milk. Since then, for the editorial director of the Memorial of the Shoah in Paris the caudine gallows of trials and ad personam attacks have opened.

WASHINGTON — Pete Buttigieg, the transportation secretary who holds the purse strings to much of President Joe Biden’s $1 trillion infrastructure package, was holding forth with reporters on its impact — the promise of more electric cars, intercity train routes, bigger airports — when a pointed question came. How would he go about building racial equity into infrastructure? The 39-year-old former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate laid out his argument that highway design can reflect racism, noting that at least $1 billion in the bill will help reconnect cities and neighborhoods that had been racially segregated or divided by road projects. CORRECTIONS*
