The Department of Justice (DOJ) says it will "vigorously defend" the guidelines laid out by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which seek to enforce vaccine requirements on all businesses with 100 employees or more by Jan. 4, 2022. Following the Friday decision by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals to uphold a stay on the OSHA order a DOJ spokesperson said the Biden administration would fight back. "This decision is just the beginning of the process for review of this important OSHA standard," a spokesperson told Fox News. "The Department will continue to vigorously defend the standard and looks f

The DOJ is the department of something but it sure is hell not justice. They are not going to defend Biden's OSHA covid mandate vigorously because it will do good, they are going to defend until as much bad can come from it as possible. Evil does not begin to describe the inhuman's in Biden's administration.

But within hours there were already vaccines for the new variant. Reuters reported yesterday: Novavax Inc (NVAX.O) said on Friday it had started working on a version of its COVID-19 vaccine to target the variant detected in South Africa and would have the shot ready for testing and manufacturing in the next few weeks. The company’s COVID-19 shot contains an actual version of the virus’ spike protein that cannot cause disease but can trigger the immune system. The vaccine developer said it had started developing a spike protein specifically based on the known genetic sequence of the variant, B.1.1.529. Novavax’s vaccine received its first

I drove over to the Nordstrom in Nashville’s Green Hills neighborhood today, intending to do a little early Hanukkah and Christmas shopping, but there was so much traffic heading into the parking structure that I just gave up. Maybe it was due to those supply-chain fears. And this was only a day after between 50 and 80 looters, according to first-hand reports, invaded a Nordstrom in Walnut Creek, California, pepper spraying and punching people who got in their way before they made off with their booty in waiting cars. Even if those numbers are exaggerated—and we have no reason so far to disbelieve

Back in August, President Joe Biden thought he was being pretty clever when he pretended to forget Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ name when asked his reaction to DeSantis stating that he would be standing in the way of any federal overreach into the state of Florida. “Governor who?” Biden foolishly responded to the reporter’s question. As I noted at the time, for a guy like DeSantis who eats his political enemies for breakfast and then goes on later in the day to dunk the left-wing partisans in the press without breaking a sweat even in the sweltering Florida heat, hearing Biden even jokingly refer to him as “Governor who?” was

On Wednesday, jurors in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse were dismissed for the evening having still not reached a verdict after two days of deliberations and reviewing of video evidence. The latter interruption in deliberations came as the defense filed a motion for a mistrial – in separate instances both with and without prejudice – when it was discovered that prosecutors withheld higher resolution footage of the night in question from the defense that might have altered their approach in the case, had they been able to view it. That is the state of affairs as of Wednesday night, but as deliberations among the jury continue, tensions have

As of Thursday, this tale of a magic castle in Colombia (or something) is expected to gross just $26 million over three days and an anemic $38.6 million over the full five-day holiday. First off, no one can blame streaming. This is a theatrical-only release. Secondly, no one can blame the pandemic. Plenty of movies are opening just fine. How bad is this? Oh, it’s bad. Democrats have long wanted the government to parent or co-parent your children, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that President Joe Biden said the quiet part out loud Monday night. Is the administration upset that you might be spending too much time with your family? The statement is also rather vague. The “nearly 2 million” number, I assume, represents the 1.8 million-woman reduction in our labor force during the COVID-19 pandemic. But it’s untrue to claim this loss is only due to women leaving work to care for a family member. There are myriad reasons why the pandemic and government-induced shutdowns could have diminished the female workforce.

We saw the Dow take a huge plunge immediately after, likely in part because of thinking that this news could lead back to more government restrictions and problems. The Biden administration reacted in a chaotic fashion. First, Dr. Anthony Fauci said

I reported earlier today on the announcement about the new COVID variant out of South Africa that immediately had some freaking out because it was supposedly “heavily mutated” and that the spike protein was “dramatically different.” That raised questions about whether immunity and the vaccines would be protective against it. There were also suggestions that it was “highly contagious among young people.” So, it seemed obvious they were gearing up to go crazy over this again. Then we reported on Dr. Anthony Fauci claiming they needed more time and information to decide on whether they needed to be talking about travel bans, that they wouldn’t be implementing a travel ban yet.

In early August Gideon Schreiber and a team of virologists at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel began playing around with the spike protein of the Sars-CoV-2 virus–the protein that allows the virus to enter our cells–to see if they could predict future mutations that could yield dangerous new variants of Covid-19. At the time, Schreiber noted with concern that there were a variety of ways in which the spike protein could evolve. If all of these mutations occurred at once, it could yield a variant that was both extremely transmissible and potentially capable of evading some of the body’s immune defences
