In this country, it’s your right to own a gun if you so choose.
If you are a gun owner, just know that any action you take with that weapon will be scrutinized, so it is in the best interest of all for you to behave with the utmost care — something we believe a vast majority of gun owners in this country do.
However, road rages can be tricky!
And in a video that we received this morning, we have another example of why the second amendment saves lives even on a heat-up road rage!
I was wondering why he was so calm…all makes sense now

The man with the sword was an immature, incompetent boob.
The man with the gun showed great poise and sincerity.
Pretty typical of Left vs. Right.

Wow! Mr. flannel shirt stood his ground and scattered his assailant BEFORE he reached for his rifle. Now that is standing tall.

A gun in the trunk doesn't do you much good. Keep it on you whenever possible.

So, the idiot with the sword who, BTW, committed assault, called the police because his victim took a firearm out of his trunk in self-defense??
Am I missing something?

Unfortunately our hero would have been a Shish Kabob long before he got his trunk open had the attacker been better at attacking. I would have done exactly as he did. I hope, and still retrieved the rifle. I would however, expect legal "experts" to point out that the attacker had gone back to his car and no longer posed a deadly threat. That's far too trusting for my taste.
That's why concealed carry is so important. Sometimes you need a pistol to shoot your way to your rifle.

An unloaded gun locked in a car trunk is a useless stick when you're threatened by a lunatic waving a sword. This guy was lucky. Could have ended badly.

Flannel shirt guy is lucky he was a challenged by a dweeb because fumbling for your weapon is not an option. Ninja boob with the sword didn't have the intent but what if he did and ran Mr. Flannel shirt through in the first attack. Things could have been different the gun owner should have had his firearm on him when he exited his car.

Tough to follow because it wasn't proof-read. What good is a gun in the trunk, although the article states that's the only place it's legal.

Agree with other posters. That was the most pathetic display of swordsmanship I have ever seen. Against a kid with a stick he would have been toast. The empty gun in the trunk is about useless. If there is time to get to it and load it, there probably wasn't any emergency.

Try that with me and you will be instantly looking into a .45 caliber muzzle. No need to work my way to the trunk.
Oregon has a perfectly straightforward Shall Issue CCW law, and this guy should be carrying a handgun that is more readily accessible than a rifle in the trunk. Leave the rifle in the trunk....might come in handy some day, but a handgun on your person is a LOT more immediately available to defend against dangerous fools like this one.

Carrying a loaded gun in your car, or not, must be a state thing. "One common question among gun owners and potential gun buyers in Texas is whether or not it is legal to carry a loaded gun in a vehicle. The short answer is yes, it is legal to keep a firearm loaded and within reach of the driver in a vehicle under the Motorist Protection Act. Drivers must conceal handguns, but long guns like rifles and shotguns do not require concealment."

I carry. That's why I avoid states like Kalifornia and Oregon. They don't recognize my LA CCW and there are way to many crazy liberals in those 2 states. If I visit my older sister in Yakima, WA, I find a route around those 2 states. I'm not going to stop somewhere, unload and hide my handgun in the trunk, where it's useless, until I get into a state with sane gun laws, and I can retrieve it. If this had happened to me, samurai sad sack would have probably ended up in a bodybag, and it would be a shame, because he was just acting out, apparently, in hopes of scaring someone into his way of thinking. If he were serious, he'd have cut someone, or tried too.

Was pulled over for speeding ( 7 over) in Michigan a few years ago. When the State Trooper came to my window, I had my concealed/carry license between my fingers, while gripping the wheel with both hands; as is the custom/requirement. The trooper was very professional and polite. I advised him that I had a pistol in the console and slowly opened the door to reveal my Keltec PF-9 . He asked if it was loaded and I replied that , like him, I realized that they aren't much use ,otherwise. He nodded, smiled and wished me a safe and happy trip.

#21, with all due respect, I suggest that you trade in that Keltec 9, which is known to jam frequently, and buy a Ruger semiautomatic, which is more expensive than the Keltec, but far superior.
