Remington Firearms announced Monday that it will invest $100 million in a factory and research operations in Georgia, the Associated Press reported. Remington's headquarters will be moved from New York to LaGrange, Georgia, which is southwest of Atlanta. The country's oldest gun maker is one of many corporations to leave the Northeast in favor of the politically gun-welcoming South. "We are very excited to come to Georgia, a state that not only welcomes business but enthusiastically supports and welcomes companies in the firearms industry," Remington CEO Ken D'Arcy said in a statement. Good for them. They (and other gun companies) started in great American states but over time they became communist bloc countries, hostile to anything involving freedom. I'm glad they have the resources to escape. I own several Remingtons and they are all good guns. Even found a Tac-14 for a pre-corona price a while back. Painful to shoot but very portable. Still would like to get a full size 870 one of these days.

After the way things went down in Huntsville, AL with Remington, Georgia better have contracts in place to recover the tax abatements if things go bad. I the state of Alabama ended up settling for about $12 million towards the tax abatements when Remington filed bankruptcy, but I don't think that covered the whole bill.

This is LONG overdue. Remington should have left New York 30 years ago. It would have saved them millions, and a lot of trouble. Nicer people, no snow days, better food, newer workplaces - what’s not to like?

Sadly, they may seriously regret that they didn't even go further south in a few years. Right now, Georgia has 2 lie-beral Demon-Rat Senators, and were just a breath away from electing a hose beast lie-beral woman as governor not too long ago. The Demon-Rats are slowly mastering election theft in Georgia, and once they do master it and take over state government, gun manufacturers are probably not going to be too welcome. Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma, or Texas, would all have been much better choices in the long term!!! But, at this point, anywhere is so much better than the Soviet Socialist Republikkk of New York!!!

If you own a Remington 700 in 30.06, the best rifle, dollar for dollar, in the world, you can hunt any big game animal in the world. If you own a Remington 870 or 100, same deal with small game. Remington is consistent in good quality.

Remington when bankrupt recently was sold off. Looks like the new owners are smarter than the old owners. My bet is that the guns made in Georgia will be great guns. And they will discover the joys of having a work force that loves your products. And likely a very business friendly state, too.

President Joe Biden's climate envoy John Kerry said the United States won’t have coal plants by 2030. “By 2030 in the United States, we won’t have coal,” Kerry said Tuesday during an interview with Bloomberg at the United Nations's COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, Scotland. “We will not have coal plants.” The U.S., the world’s largest economy, generates nearly 25% of its electricity from coal despite the rapid retirements of coal plants in recent years that have struggled to compete with cheaper and cleaner natural gas and renewable energy. Kerry’s comment is among the most explicit to-date of a Biden

New York - Amid an array of discouraging election results for Democrats last week, there was one under-the-radar outcome that was especially perplexing. In New York, one of the country’s most progressive states, voters overwhelmingly rejected initiatives that would have expanded voting access in future elections. The vote, which came in a year when Republican-led states have passed dozens of laws to restrict voting access, left voting rights advocates stunned. (Snip) None of the measures came anywhere close to passing. Republicans waged a well-funded and aggressive campaign to oppose the amendments, a move that caught supporters of the proposal off
