China has built mock-ups of US ships on what appears to be a military firing range, adding to fears that the country is gearing up for a confrontation with America. Satellite images captured by Colorado-based satellite imagery company Maxar Technologies on Sunday show China has built targets shaped like a US Ford-class aircraft carrier and Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. The mock-ups are located in Ruoqiang, in China's northwestern desert region of Xinjiang, on what US analysts believe is a military firing range - suggesting they will be used for target practice. It comes amid a massive military build-up by Beijing that has seen it develop new nukes, battleships, jet fighters, tanks and missiles

The ChiComs have been preparing for a military confrontation for years. We haven't even yet decided we're in trouble. It will take YEARS to rebuild our forces to meet them head on. We are likely too late. Start learning Mandarin, people.

I try very hard, as does my wife, to buy NOTHING made China. In some kinds of goods, this is difficult. I often pay more, sometimes twice as much, but $6 for a plumbing valve made in USA vs $3 for a made in China is WAY worth it to me. Life is about choices....choose to buy American, or if that isn't possible, at least NOT Chinese. We will buy from Thailand or Mexico if we cannot get USA made, by preference to China.

Just a guess but..."Targets for the new hypersonic missiles"? The last one missed by 25 miles, putting targets in a remote desert makes sense until they can dial in accuracy. The Chi-coms are not "Crazy" much of their war fighting capabilities will be focused upon our "Force Projection" assets, not the mainland USA. They already know that Domestic "poutrage" will instantly occur over even the contemplation of distant combat ops. An attack on us within our borders will trigger the opposite. Biden and the left will "Write off/Allow" the destruction of a ship...or even a fleet, rather than risk an "Escalation". They already have with the Cole, and several other US Assets attacked by Iran and others.

WASHINGTON — Pete Buttigieg, the transportation secretary who holds the purse strings to much of President Joe Biden’s $1 trillion infrastructure package, was holding forth with reporters on its impact — the promise of more electric cars, intercity train routes, bigger airports — when a pointed question came. How would he go about building racial equity into infrastructure? The 39-year-old former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate laid out his argument that highway design can reflect racism, noting that at least $1 billion in the bill will help reconnect cities and neighborhoods that had been racially segregated or divided by road projects. CORRECTIONS*
