Biden administration unveils oil and gas
rules to cut methane emissions

The Biden administration presented sweeping regulations targeting the oil and gas industry Tuesday in an effort to cut back on the emission of methane, a greenhouse gas more harmful than carbon dioxide in the short term. The proposals, announced at the United Nations climate summit in Glasgow, Scotland, known as COP26, mark the first time the federal government has offered a comprehensive rules package to limit the release of methane. Speaking in Scotland, Mr. Biden said the initiatives are critical to meet world leaders’ goal of keeping global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius.(Snip)Christopher Guith, senior vice president at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Energy Institute, hailed the proposed

This should do wonders to lower fuel prices. How about a proposal to limit Xiden's emissions of methane?

There was a story here last week that stated nearly half(maybe more than half) of USA's methane was from rotting excess/leftover/thrown away food products...mainly in larger cities. Methane bubbles up from pond bottoms, ditches, lakes, the oceans... "naturally"... everywhere, in amounts that dwarf any man caused/released amounts. He wants to stop the burning/flaring of it...which reduces it to c02 and h20... in a sentence immediately following him stating how much WORSE it is for the atmosphere than c02. https://www.google.com/search?q=methane+gas+under+ice&rlz=1C1MSIM_enUS528US528&oq=Methane+under+ice&aqs=chrome.6.0i512l2j0i22i30l8.13173j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

He seems to think "Chief Administrator= Dictator" There are already SC cases waiting to be heard over similar "over reach regulations" applied to the Coal/Gas Powerplant industries.

To add to Birddog's mention of the insanity of methane control, globull warming fanatics want to do away with cattle and other livestock that eat grass so the grass can die and release even more methane. As far as CO2 is concerned, I would really like to see these idiots do without any of the benefits we get from CO2 for even just a few days. No food may change a mind or too.

No doubt that they will cause prices to increase - which is their intent. Methane is just the scientific name for the main constituent of natural gas. It also contains small amounts of butane and propane....which are stripped out and sold separately. And they actually dilute the NG with non-flammable carbon dioxide, too. Kinda like putting sawdust in bread flour. There was a federal law passed which mandated that the MINIMUM energy content of natural gas in the interstate pipelines was 1,000 BTU/cu ft. So....smart guys who had really good gas with 1100 or more BTUs....dilute it with cheap, inflammable, worthless-tor-energy CO2 to get DOWN to the "mandated minimum". Cheating pukes are not going to give you one extra BTU beyond what is required by law.

Methane is released in the process of decomposition. Everything that dies, animal or vegetable, is a potential methane generator. As usual, the democommies are focusing on their uber villains the oil and gas producers as they have no way to cancel nature. There are a myriad of other sources of atmospheric methane as well from landfills to wastewater treatment plants to termites to ruminant flatulence. Good luck getting rid of them all.

as Proud Texan mentioned...Europe just recently faced a "World without" C02, they had to shut down brewery, soda bottlers, food production and FERTILIZER production plants because there was not enough C02 available. The Nat Gas they needed to use to obtain it was being diverted to lights/heat instead when their wind solar grid fell short.

Advisors to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended on Wednesday that all U.S. adults younger than age 60 get vaccinated against hepatitis B. Under the new policy, tens of millions of adults in the 30-to-59 age range could get their shots, protecting them against this potentially chronic liver disease. The new recommendation aims to prevent infection among middle-aged adults with hepatitis B increasingly impacting people in their 40s and 50s in recent years. 'We cannot eliminate hepatitis B in the U.S. without a new approach,' said CDC scientist Dr Mark Weng.(Snip)Adults commonly catch the disease through sexual contact and needle sharing,

Nearly 100 congressional Republicans demanded Thursday that the Department of Homeland Security detail its plan for dealing with a caravan of migrants making its way through southern Mexico toward the US border. In a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas obtained exclusively by The Post, the lawmakers said they were “deeply concerned” about the situation and warned that border agents “are already overworked, undermanned, and under-supplied as a result of the influx of migrants this year.” The letter, led by House GOP Conference chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), also raised the specter of migrants attempting to force their way into the US

Making Covid vaccines compulsory for care home workers had little effect on boosting uptake, industry insiders say amid fears forcing the jabs on NHS workers will also be futile. Ministers have made it a legal requirement for all care home staff to get their second jab by November 11 or face losing their job, with the hope of boosting uptake and protecting vulnerable residents. But care bosses told MailOnline today the policy failed in its main objective of boosting uptake and was enforced 'without considering' the consequences. Figures from San Francisco's official COVID tracker show that out of the 664 citizens that have succumbed to the disease since it surfaced in the states nearly two years ago, none have been aged 21 or younger. What's more, only 1,529 kids in the city have come down with the virus in that span. The Biden administration published a rule Thursday that requires workers at large companies and institutions to get fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by Jan. 4 or face weekly testing. Persons who refuse to get vaccinated would also have to wear masks while on the job under the long-awaited regulation from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration that applies to 84 million workers. Employers must start providing paid time off to employees who want to get vaccinated and recover from any side effects by Dec. 5. Unvaccinated workers should also start wearing masks by that date, the rule says. Senior administration officials said employers could face fines of up to $14,000

On November 3, 1957, the little part-husky dog–who was also known as Curly–became the first animal to orbit Earth when she flew out of the atmosphere in the Soviet Union's Sputnik 2 spacecraft. At the time, the Russians told the world that, until her air supply ran out, the dog had survived for six days inside a capsule which provided her with food, water and oxygen. Offering a path to citizenship to illegal immigrants and opening the doors to more legal immigrants will cost the federal government more than $500 billion over the next few decades, the Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday. The costs would come chiefly to Social Security, Medicare and other social safety net programs that the new, and newly legalized, immigrants would be able to access, the budget analysts said. The nonpartisan budget agency analyzed House Democrats’ plan to update the window of eligibility for illegal immigrants to adjust their status to legal immigrants, and to expand availability of green cards, or legal immigrant visas, to more foreign citizens.
