Did you ever have a dream that was fun and entertaining and made perfect sense in the moment? Then you woke up and said, What the hell was that about? That’s what has so intrigued me so long about dreams. They occur suspended in a world of unconsciousness untethered by reason and logic, unpredictable and therefore intriguing. And mostly delightful, at least for me. I’ve had dreams that were

This Biden-Pelosi-Obama crowd is a tricky cast of characters that likes to tuck surprise goodies into immense legislation, hoping no one spots them until it’s too late. [Snip] Now, what’s just come out is a Joe Biden plan to abolish cash bail for violent suspects. No, seriously. Because, you know, why would any accused murderer skip town? Some of you reactionaries may miss the equity issue here. Accused violent

As often seems to happen, Joe Biden lost his train of thought the other night.
He was on international TV, trying to explain why the supply-chain crisis is not his fault. He got the Port of Los Angeles part down all right, but couldn’t remember the other, huge California port. Then he asked, “What am I doing here?” Cooper Anderson helped Biden remember. Americans themselves, however, are no longer helping Joe Biden out by propping him up in vain hopes that he was the right choice over

Joe Biden will demonstrate his determination to fight climate change by flying more than a dozen Cabinet members across the Atlantic next week — in several passenger jets consuming tons of fossil fuels at high altitudes. Plus, of course, Biden’s own customized 747 Air Force One. [Snip] All this for the Democrat to show participants in the U.N.’s Climate Change Conference in Glasgow how all-in he is to save the global environment from the terrible things that other wanton humans are doing to cause and worsen global warming for their own ends.

According to a recent major online news story, “Gas prices are at 7-year highs, and Biden can’t do much about it.” OK, stop laughing. I said, Stop! This was not a Babylon Bee post. This was an actual CNN Business story and an atrociously prime example of the mainstream media playing defense for Joe Biden and his clumsy administration of radical nincompoops who put ideology ahead of common sense and practicality. There’s actually a ton of things Joe Biden could do to restore the nation’s energy independence that

There they go again, federal experts changing their minds on more health guidelines. Masks, no masks, two weeks of lock-down, well, no, maybe two months, yada yada yada. How can anyone keep up, especially if they’re old and feeble like our current president? This time the new federal advice is about aspirin, the world’s most widely-used drug. You know how since 2016 you should take one aspirin tablet a day to prevent heart disease, the nation’s and even the world’s top killer? Around 30 million Americans pop one of them daily, me included. Well, forget it. A government-backed advisory board just

It’s that time again, time to find a new 007 as Daniel Craig retires from the iconic role after five tries. [Snip] So who will be Eon Productions No. 7 007? Diversity seems to be the big catchphrase these days. Is it time for a change? A black man? A black woman? Hispanic? Transgender? Would audiences put up with a radical departure like a female secret agent who orders a Chardonnay spritzer? Not shaken. Not stirred? She’d have to be very good to

In an unexpected and pointed statement, the Reagan Foundation and Institute, which oversees the late president’s library and promotes his legacy, has objected to the impending unconditional release of Ronald Reagan’s would-be assassin, John Hinckley Jr. [Snip] But now, signaling the start of what could be a prolonged controversy like everything else these days, the Reagan Institute has commented with this reasoning

oe Biden and his media coterie are intensely focused these days on the soap opera playing out on Capitol Hill. Will Joe Manchin stand firm in the face of presidential pressures? Will Nancy Pelosi sound drunk again? What’s all the shouting in the ladies’ room? And what will happen in the perennial staged fight over raising the debt limit? Yawn! [Snip] But simmering some 8,000 miles to the west is a potentially major crisis that could pit two nuclear superpowers against each other—a resurgent China and a chastened United States coming off Biden’s Afghan debacles with an embarrassed military half the size of China’s.

Americans’ economic confidence, which surged on the hopeful arrival of a new president in January, has now fallen sharply back, given the stark realities of Joe Biden’s new administration. Gallup’s Economic Confidence Index started to dip in August, and then fell further this month. [Snip], A number of factors have combined to drive down economic confidence from the optimistic days surrounding Biden’s inauguration in January. A resurgent virus causes concerns. Among other major reasons are

It was a Monday many years ago, a regular office writing day for me in my newspaper’s San Francisco office. Wally Turner, the veteran bureau chief who had sources planted all over his city, suddenly appeared in my door. “Another woman tried to shoot President Ford,” he said. “Here’s her address.” The modest apartment building was nearby. I knocked on the superintendent’s door. “Hello,” I said in my most innocent voice. “I’d like to see Sara Jane Moore’s apartment.” He asked why. I said I’d heard it might be available soon. The superintendent had not heard that, but

Many of us remember the big stink that Joe Biden made last year when he bothered to campaign about how the Democrat would treat America’s allies so much better than that loudmouth Donald Trump who was always talking about America First. [Snip] when the president of a long-time democratic ally and an economic powerhouse, especially one from Asia where signs of respect are so revered and expected, personally gets involved in the return of soldiers’ remains, it’s a pretty big deal. Or should be. The Biden administration, however, sent no one to the ceremony, which
