A national education group that implied some parental activism is tantamount to "domestic terrorism" owes nearly $20 million to the IRS, according to tax forms reviewed by Just the News. Most of that comes from "accrued pension liability," as disclosed by the National School Boards Association's 2017 and 2018 Form 990 filings. Unlike those two, the 2019 form — the most recently filed — does not include an itemized list under the federal income taxes subheading for "other liabilities."

Sounds like a cushy job for retired teachers, already collecting their teachers' union pension at age 50, to suck more money out of the school system and doing what they love best, ruining children's lives.

Isn't that special. Until very recently those supporting the rule of constitutional law and sanity almost never punched back. It is becoming the norm. We are a long way from restoring the republic but what might that restoration look like? I do believe we have begun the process, perhaps too little too late but at least I believe things have begun.

We lived in N Minnysoda when our first child was born. I walked onto a construction site and asked where I could find the job superintendent. I introduced myself and told him I was a carpenter looking for work. The super told me that the union hall was supposed to send him a carpenter that morning and he never showed up. The union hall promised to send him one that afternoon and same story. I told him that I would take both of their places. I was hired immediately.

An accrued pension liability is not owed to the IRS, so this article is misleading. They have a defined benefit pension plan that probably somewhat underfunded, at least on a plan termination basis. Looks like the plan has about $40 million in it. You can look up the Form 5500 filings on the DOL EFAST website.

After months of criticizing Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema for balking at the original $3.5 trillion price tag, congressional Democrats are finally accepting reality and paring President Biden’s social welfare package to between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion over the decade. Does this mean they are responsibly removing the bill’s worst provisions and crafting fiscally sustainable legislation? Of course not!

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY., said that she will vote against her party's infrastructure bill if it comes to a vote Thursday because Democrats have not provided enough details on what will be in the larger social spending bill. "I don't see how ethically I can vote to increase U.S. climate emissions," Ocasio-Cortez said Wednesday, noting that a "framework" of President Biden's "Build Back Better" plan isn't enough detail to sway her vote on infrastructure. "We have had a framework for six months. We need text."

Homeland Security has expanded its list of locations off-limits for ICE enforcement to include anywhere near graveyards, community organization offices and any area where children “gather” — effectively blocking officers from making arrests across many urban areas. The new rules issued Wednesday are designed to give illegal immigrants and others associated with them access to essential services without having to fear arrest, said Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. “This principle is fundamental,” Mr. Mayorkas said in a memo to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Democrats have already nixed a contentious plan to tax the wealth of roughly 700 billionaires, Rep. Richard Neal (D-Mass.) confirmed Wednesday, after moderate Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) voiced concerns earlier in the day over the proposed provision in President Joe Biden’s spending package. At a press conference Wednesday, Neal, chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, said the proposal was “out of the Biden plan” after Manchin, whose support is crucial for Democrats to pass legislation in the evenly split Senate, told reporters he didn't like the billionaire tax.

As Democrats face a self-imposed deadline to pass a sweeping reconciliation spending bill and a bipartisan infrastructure plan they appear in danger of doing neither – again. President Biden is leaving the United States Thursday for an international trip that will include, among other things, a climate summit. The president made clear he wanted have an agreement among Democrats about what the reconciliation deal will look like, and to sign the infrastructure bill, so that he can tout the climate provisions in both.
