It’s a farmers’ market for the stoner set! Manhattan’s troubled Washington Square Park has reached a new low—with brazen drug dealers illegally selling weed from tables laden with pre-rolled joints and jars of pot conveniently labeled so choosy customers can select their favorite strains. Five separate groups of weed vendors offered their wares in broad daylight around the fountain across from the park’s famed arch as tourists, families and New York University students packed the plaza in Greenwich Village on Sunday afternoon.(Snip)Business is briskest on Fridays and Saturdays, he said, “especially at night, up until the park closes.(Snip)“Of those, there are 10 or 15 marijuana

The best part is that no one has to be vaccinated, not even partially. No taxes or permits or fees either, which is where the city will start to care.

Pretty much legal most everywhere apparently. I'm a bit surprised that in NYC they don't have Fentanyl stands.

The Biden administration is reportedly in talks to appoint Kim Wyman, a Republican secretary of state who challenged former President Trump's false claims of fraud, to lead efforts to protect elections from interference. It would make Wyman, 59, one of the most senior GOP appointments in the administration. And it would propel her into a prominent position working with election officials around the country at a time when much of her own party has sown doubt about voting integrity. Federal officials have spent weeks in talks with Wyman, Washington state's secretary of state, to become the election security lead for the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency

President Biden’s decision to halt border wall construction has left parts of Arizona so dangerous that the U.S. Forest Service has banned its employees from going there, according to a border rancher who grazes cattle on those lands. Jim Chilton, whose ranch covers 5.5 miles of the border, was thrilled when the government began replacing the four-strand barbed wire fence with a Trump-style border wall. Five miles were completed by the end of the last administration. But after Mr. Biden’s construction halt, Mr. Chilton now has a half-mile gap, and people are pouring through like a funnel. “Actually, the border danger is far worse than it has ever

President Joe Biden on Monday pushed to get a deal done on his multi-trillion social spending plan before he heads for Europe later this week by repeating his debunked claim it costs nothing and painting the child tax credit as a 'tax cut' for the middle class. 'We need to get this done,' Biden said in remarks at the NJ Transit Meadowlands Maintenance Complex in Kearny, New Jersey.(Snip)'Under my plan, no middle class family will spend more than 7% of their income on childcare,' he said. Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers’ criticism that the Federal Reserve and other central banks are too focused on “woke” social issues reflects a growing concern that policymakers aren’t paying enough attention to inflation. the argument from Mr. Summers, a Democrat, also comes as Senate Republicans are trying to prevent congressional Democrats and President Biden from pressuring the Fed to install regional directors who would devote some of their duties to climate change and racial equity. They describe it as a dangerous case of “mission creep” from the central bank’s traditional role of ensuring maximum employment and price stability. Once upon a time it was simple. Children went to sleep on a diet of bedtime stories that grew out of folklore, depended on magic or were just enchantingly simple: Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and Goodnight Moon. Exciting news for people who believe in science enough to want mass vaccination, but not enough to think horoscopes are made up: Utah’s Salt Lake county health department says there’s a big difference in vaccination rates depending on your Zodiac sign. At least, that’s what officials found when they analysed anonymised data on 1.2million residents, providing a table of the least and most vaccinated star signs. The results showed that Leos–apparently the most compassionate–were the most vaccinated, at 70%, closely followed by people with the Aquarius sign (67%). Scorpios (the most evil star sign, clearly) came last–only 46% were vaccinated, with Virgos (50%) coming in a close

The highly contagious delta variant of the coronavirus did not appear to cause more “severe outcomes” in hospitalized patients, a new federal report says. An analysis by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention looked at data from 14 states and “found no significant increases in the proportion of hospitalized COVID-19 patients with severe outcomes during the delta period.” The report delves into one of the burning questions about the delta variant that dominated the U.K. and the rest of the globe, including the U.S., over the mid-summer. While the variant can be fast-moving and spread widely, the report suggests it doesn’t cause more severe disease, as suspected.

Evil is a very strong word, when used properly. Merriam-Webster defines it many ways, the most relevant to what I’m talking about being “morally reprehensible” and “arising from actual or imputed bad character or conduct.” That is the modern left, the “progressive movement,” the “Democratic” Party. And to fight evil, to stop it, is the most important thing anyone can do.What justifies the use of “evil” as a descriptor? It’s a dangerous word to use, one that has been abused throughout history to demonize innocent people as well as condemn the guilty. But there is no other word for what these people are doing, both in tactic and objective.
