Florida Governor Calls for Special Session

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Oct. 21 called for a special legislative session to consider measures to counter vaccine and mask mandates. The move follows a series of COVID-19 vaccine mandates imposed by the administration of President Joe Biden. That doesn’t sit well with the Florida governor, who has “had enough” of federal interference into state business, press secretary Christina Pushaw told The Epoch Times. The legislative proposals include the provision of reemployment assistance to people who are fired due to failure to comply with an employer’s vaccine mandate. Under another proposal, Floridians who have an adverse reaction to a vaccine would be eligible for workers’ compensation.

Leaving NJ for Florida almost 2 decades ago seemed like a good idea. Now, Wifey & I feel like we won the lottery.

It’s almost a toss-up! Texas, where I came of age, and my kids were born, or Florida, where I vacation. At least both states are trying to be free…

But is it not disconcerting, # 1, that so many other red states are lagging in this critical regard?

Good on Florida. Read the article and you can see the very practical measures they are proposing to stop the mdness and help those people who have lost their jobs etc. There is even a proposal to help those who have been injured by the 'vaccine'. What is scary is how quickly private companies bowed to this immoral, unethical and illegal EO of Biden's. OSHA is now writing up the details and they have the leverage. We are screwed. And yes, both anti-mandate bills in the Ohio House are on the rocks. The Ohio Dems are against and the Ohio GOP is split. A "No Mandates Rule" should be a slam dunk and so obvious to a free people who have a moral compass. Sadly our country has sunk to a new low. The ideas of the communist Gramsci are making great headway. The values of a moral & just society are no longer considered legitimate. And we are being urged to accept as valid the hegemony of the degenerates (the so called marginalized groups) who have no real principles.

#5, I live in FL and am a huge fan of our governor. But don't count your chickens - Ron D. faces a re-election contest in 2022 and it is going to be a tough one. As you can imagine, the entire Deep State machine with all its tentacles is going to be focused on destroying him. The Dems may have come up with a goo-goo, superficially appealing lady candidate to oppose him. And if he gets past that and does run in '24 (doubtful) a Democrat License to Cheat (the "Freedom to Vote" travesty, if passed) will sink him or any other promising GOPer. Pray for our republic.

Alec Baldwin got to play his dream role last week, and unfortunately for an innocent woman, it was a method-acting version of Ted Kennedy. Now, you note that I am mocking a guy whose probable gross negligence killed a lady and maimed a man, and this raises an important question – do we really want to live in a world where our reaction to a tragedy caused by an enemy is not sorrow and compassion but mockery? It doesn’t matter what we want. We do live in such a world, in large part due to the likes of Alec Baldwin.

With civic guidance and political leadership absent on the heels of multiple national crises, the entire country is now roiled in an era of massive civilian disobedience campaigns as thousands of American workers seek protection from President Biden’s flawed vaccine dictates. If you listen to Biden’s recent incoherent statement on vaccine mandates or you are an incurable aficionado of what used to be called mainstream media, you may think there is reason to believe that a formal Presidential Executive Order mandating national Covid vaccinations had been issued. As with many Democratic initiatives, the truth and reality of Biden’s September 9th announcement are frequently at odds.

The voluntary goals finalized Wednesday for 163 foods are intended to help lower the amount of salt people eat. A majority of the sodium in U.S. diets comes from packaged or restaurant foods — not the salt added to meals at home — making it hard for people to make changes on their own. Merriam-Webster defines it many ways, the most relevant to what I’m talking about being “morally reprehensible” and “arising from actual or imputed bad character or conduct.” That is the modern left, the “progressive movement,” the “Democratic” Party. And to fight evil, to stop it, is the most important thing anyone can do.What justifies the use of “evil” as a descriptor? It’s a dangerous word to use, one that has been abused throughout history to demonize innocent people as well as condemn the guilty.
