Joe Biden has given the strongest indication yet that he is willing to end or whittle down the Senate filibuster as a means of overcoming Republican intransigence and moving ahead with reforms to voting rights, the debt ceiling and possibly more.
Speaking in Baltimore a day after Senate Republicans yet again blocked major legislation designed to secure access to the ballot box for all Americans, Biden expressed mounting frustration at the filibuster which effectively gives the conservative minority a stranglehold over large swathes of policy.
Too bad it isn't up to Comrade Potato Head. He isn't in the Senate anymore.

Flip flop is expected, but the bizarre thing is that he would even go there at all; because he simply CAN'T. No possible way he has the 51 votes to pass it in the Senate and he isn't an emperor. This doesn't work as red-meat for his base, because it will only tick them off when Democrats stop this from happening. Best guess, since it was a hand picked 'town hall-fraud' audience, he left his ear piece in the residence. His handlers were unable to whisper in his ear.

Note to the Leftist British Guardian 'news'paper:

The HairSniffer has not say in the matter.

We don't have a government anymore. We have a dictatorship. A tyranny. And at least 70 million people voted for it.

Try it...if even ONE dem considers it "abridged too far"....and caucuses with the Repubs, the entire leadership of the Senate changes hands, Kamalas vote means nothing, even Angus King making that decision flips the Senate, both Manchin and Senema could join in as well. I am quite sure that Repubs would offer them "continued Seniority", committee assignments of their choosing and future Votes on legislation they consider their "Prime Objectives".(Maybe even a 'hands off' from the Senate campaign committee during their next run for office, RCCC/RNC likely wouldn't go that far, but...).

Potential Caucus switchers ALL live in states where saying "Socialists creating Gridlock was stopping ANY important Legislation from progressing, we need to all work together for the entire country, not socialist special interests holding us all hostage" would stand them on solid ground for re-election, not hurt them.
The ONLY reason Dems have a "Majority" is because Socialists caucus with them...and Kamala breaks the tie.
Repubs actually have 50 seats, Dems only 48.

Where does the Guardian get off saying that the Republican backed voting bill is intended to block voting. The whole premise of the bill is to ensure that only people who can prove they are eligible can vote and only once at that,

Keep in mind it has already happened over 20 times, Repups Jeffords and Spectre the most recent...but Ben Knighthorse Cambell and other dems jumped right when Dems overplayed their leftist hand back in the middle 90's.

a voting rights bill to "secure access to the ballot box for all Americans".
THAT is a pure lie. But, this is the UK Communist Guardian, and lies are normal.
The bill would 'secure access to the ballot box' for multiple voting, and non-citizen
voting, and voting multiple times.

In January 2023, they will be screaming for the return of the filibuster, which will then become the greatest thing in human history, when they are in the minority. They will claim the Republicans of hindering democracy by not restoring it to them.

With Joe's approval ratings nearing the freezing point what he "signals" means diddly. He has zero political capital to spend.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have the votes. Someone needs to clue in the British Guardian that 2 Democrats, at least, do not favor ending the filibuster.

Yup, change the rule to suit their agenda. Senator Dirty Harry Reid pulled the same stunt several years ago.
Democrat can Lie and Cheat at WILL. The concept of playing by the rule is not their style.

The Dems would be smart to remember the Harry Reid Theorem: Whatever the Dems can do today, the Republcians can do tomorrow.
