During a rambling speech in Scranton on Wednesday, Joe Biden accidentally said he was Vice President for 36 years. Not 8 years, but 36 years.“I’d ride every day, I commuted every day for 36 years as Vice President,” Biden said without noticing his error. Watch: (Tweet/Video) During the same speech, Biden also told a debunked story about an Amtrak worker, which he has repeated 4 different times during his presidency. Biden says the conversation took place “7 years into” his vice presidency, which would be 2015.The Amtrak worker retired in 1993 and passed away in 2014.Watch:

Dementia sufferers have a hard time with numbers. In fact, one of the screening tests for the affliction is to have the person count backwards. Yesterday's sad outing in Scranton gave enough evidence of dementia almost for legal purposes.

I am so tired of him milking his "blue collar roots" in Scranton. How long ago was it that he lived there? He has been a career politician and has no clue of what life is like for the average American today that has higher gasoline and food prices, supply chain problems and a botched response to the virus. Habitual liars learn that fleshing out their lies with details, tends to lend some credibility. But when you add dementia into the mix, that skill turns into a trap door. The sad thing is that he is oblivious to the fact that people are catching his mistakes.

Biden's obvious dementia sets up a Constitutional crisis of sorts...what exactly is the process by which he is declared unfit for office, and by what measure is his condition deemed to be serious enough to be removed? Diagnosis of dementia is much more subjective and difficult, and for observers to reach consensus, than, say, gunshots, the usual method of incapacitating a sitting POTUS. I'm no doc, and videos like this one certainly convince me...but a clever lawyer will claim it was a slip of the tongue, an honest mistake, etc...

Biden said that he is going to take millions of current automobiles off the streets of America and replace them with electric powered vehicles. But he never said how those millions of Americans who use those automobiles to get to and from work daily are going to afford to purchase new electric powered automobiles, that are generally much more expensive than gasoline powered automobiles? Are the so-called 1% of Americans who Biden says all the time don’t pay their fair share of taxes going to have their federal taxes raised to pay for new electric powered automobiles for the other 99% of Americans and of course whatever millions of illegal aliens who are in the country?

Samuel Goodman, writing on Bari Weiss' Common Sense Substack newsletter, made the case in a piece titled 'What We Lose When We Lose Thomas Jefferson.'The statue had resided in the City Hall's Council chambers since 1834 after it was gifted by Uriah Phillips Levy, a naval officer and an admirer of Jefferson's. 'Yes,' he responded when asked in a CNN town hall about defending Taiwan. Somehow, someone made the decision to let Joe Biden out and to go to a CNN town hall. I’m not sure who thought this was a good idea. But even within the friendly confines of CNN, it was a complete train wreck — even by Biden standards. Naturally, most of the questions from folks in the audience were Democrats or softball questions. But there were some highlights and it was disastrous. Let’s start with the creepiness and the incoherence. Here’s Joe Biden claiming that top corporations “don’t pay a cent” in taxes with that creepy stage whisper voice.

As Lowry sees it, it’s a fool’s game to overestimate Trump’s dominance of the Republican Party this far in advance of the 2024 election. Lowry writes, in an op-ed posted by The New York Post on Friday, that Republican politicians who think the Republican Party belongs to Trump can be forgiven, given that he not only survived two impeachments and the January 6 attack against the U.S. Capitol; he has since continued to thrive.
