Last month I’d never heard of Dave Chappelle. Now I hear only of him. So, I watched his Netflix show, “The Closer.” What I saw was a clever, crude and funny entertainer. But George Carlin, he’s not. He’s not even Steve Martin or Jerry Seinfeld. He might not even be Don Rickles. Like most standup comedians, Chappelle is at his best when he lampoons the accepted wisdom – when he illustrates with a humorous reductio ad absurdum that such wisdom can only be laughable foolishness. He does this particularly well in the topic that has gotten him into lucrative hot water – transsexuals. He wittily observes that you don’t get to

I identify as Napoleon Bonaparte. Was there anything which in the past said “crazy” than to believe you are something that you’re not. Clearly the wokejokes would not agree with glenn. But if everything is good- no judgments about anything or anyone- then how can you make fun of something? It’s all the same.

His act is nothing but vulgar filth. Since I find it objectionable I simply will not purchase it or watch it. I have no compulsion to prevent others from purchasing it or watching it. It is a little thing called ''freedom''. The tranny wokesters should check it out, sometime.

I find it amazing that the writer had never heard of Dave Chapelle before last month! And I would suggest that his credibility about any other topic might need to be examined. In the future I'll read anything else he writes with skepticism. This tells me he is not very informed about the popular culture of our time. DC has been around and wildly popular for quite some time. Decades perhaps. Furthermore, to say his humor is nothing but shock jock stuff is ludicrous. He is creative, and uses much of what he has experienced ... to an extent, to lampoon. He has taken stands against the Entertainment Industry and other Black performers who urged him to stand down relative to controversial topics. Confusing article

Well, Glenn got to vent. But in doing so he showed that he knows nothing about Chapppelle in particular or comedy in general.

The words “motherhood” and “mother” are now cancelled. The proper woke term is now “birthing person.” That’s because “mother” means a woman who has birthed a child, and allegedly we now also have men who birth a child. Never mind that these “men” have no Y chromosome and were born female with female genitalia and female chromosomes. They are now “men” because, well, because they say so. According to their science – which you’d damn well better follow — whatever they say they are, they are. To contend that science says anything different is hateful and unscientific because it hurts their feelings. Then there’s the flag of the United States of America.

Joe Biden’s enterprising son, Hunter, has a creative side. He’s an artist. It’s not unusual for people in the public eye to have an artsy side. Winston Churchill comes to mind. Angelina Jolie recently parted with an original Churchill for about $11 million, which is probably more than she got when she parted with her last husband. But, of course, the last husband probably wasn’t as original as Churchill. And besides, Churchill won WWII, while I’m guessing Jolie’s last husband lost WWIII.

A majority of Americans now think that Joe Biden is not up to the job of being president and that his administration is incompetent. But that’s not the worst of it. The worst of it for the Democrats is that they’re now accurately perceived as bullies. The latest from the Department of (Social) Justice is that they are unleashing the FBI on parents who object to school boards teaching false, woke and politically correct tripe that America was founded on slavery. For opposing this anti-American propaganda that school boards force-feed to our children, the parents are labeled domestic terrorists. Long-time readers will recall that your correspondent was a conservative columnist for the uber-liberal Aspen Times for seven years. In that time, I became the most-read columnist in the Aspen area. My columns frequently generated more clicks than front page news. That was not acceptable to the Aspen Times. After all, I was hired to be a token, not to be a success. On Christmas Eve in 2019, they fired me. By email. As for their reasons, they stated that my “values” were incompatible with theirs. The story was widely published, including on national sites.

In the midst of the Afghanistan surrender debacle last month, Joe Biden went for a softball interview with a Democrat partisan news reporter. As always, the President struggled to put words together. Finally, the reporter asked Biden point blank a leading question he could answer with a simple yes or no: “So no one told — your military advisers did not tell you, “No, we should just keep 2,500 troops. It’s been a stable situation for the last several years. We can do that. We can continue to do that”? Biden answered: “No. No one said that to me that I can recall.”

Joe Biden’s border policy would be comical if it weren’t so destructive and tragic. He in effect tells would-be immigrants, “Please don’t come but, if you do, we’ll let you in and let you stay.” Predictably, they do come, they do get let in, and they do stay. Put another way, they come, they see and they conquer — all at the implicit invitation of the president. How long before they get dinner at the White House? Millions come. Border towns are overrun. Sanitation is bad. Conditions are horrendous, filthy and unprecedented.

A Hillary Clinton lawyer has been indicted for lying to the FBI in the Clinton campaign’s 2016 smear of Donald Trump. The lawyer fed bogus information to the FBI to fuel the false allegation that Trump was colluding with Russia. The lawyer lied to the FBI by stating that he was acting purely as a private citizen, while his own firm’s billing records prove he was actually working for Hillary’s campaign. As the current occupant of the office for which Hillary was campaigning might say in a rare lucid moment, “This is a big f*cking deal.”

Cats like AOC sleeping with dogs like Bill Clinton (OK, that’s not odd, but it’s sure icky). Locusts. Hillary’s persistent pestilent pantsuits. The first midterm elections during a presidential term are a test that he/she/they/it usually fails. Democrats do particularly badly, since most Democrat voters are not aware of midterm elections of their House and Senate representatives. Heck, they don’t even know who their representatives are.

Harvard actively and obviously discriminates against Asians. To get admitted, Asians need an SAT score 140 points higher than whites and 450 points higher than blacks. Harvard’s justification for this discrimination is almost as painful as the discrimination itself. Harvard says that the Asian applicants have poor personalities. The way Harvard evaluates an applicant’s personality is not with any standardized test, but with an in-person interview by a bureaucrat – where it just so happens that the bureaucrat can take note of the applicant’s skin color. Asian applicants sued. The suit was in Boston before a federal judge appointed by President Obama. The judge sided with Harvard.

Back in your correspondent’s Version 2.3 or thereabouts, he was an engineer for Boeing. This was back in 1978-79. My starting salary was $15,400. When I left Boeing to start my personal Version 3.0, my salary was still less than $17,000. My parents thought I was crazy to give that up and take on debt to go to law school. Boeing was booming. Airlines were being de-regulated, airline travel was becoming less expensive while still being slightly sexy, and everyone wanted to go to Europe for the first time.

Some of them do admit that — when they’re cornered. I’m thinking of Dan Crenshaw being confronted by an election truther at a fundraiser in August and telling the guy that he was kidding himself if he believed there was such widespread fraud that it flipped the result in multiple states. There’s a cohort of hardcore populists within the House GOP whose loyalty to Trump is such that they’ll eagerly parrot any conspiracy theory he likes but most GOP reps who are asked about this tend to mumble something noncommittal about “election integrity” and “unanswered questions” before changing the subject.

The adjacent port of Long Beach came in even lower, at 333, behind Turkey's Nemrut Bay and Kenya's Mombasa, the groups said in their inaugural Container Port Performance Index published in May. The
