A judge on Friday denied a last-ditch effort to dismiss a criminal case against actor Jussie Smollett, who is accused of lying to police when he reported that he was the victim of a racist, anti-gay attack in downtown Chicago in January 2019.
An attorney for the former "Empire" actor said Smollett's rights were being violated since he had already performed community service and given up a $10,000 bond under a previous deal with Cook County prosecutors to drop charges.
"A deal is a deal. That’s ancient principle," attorney Nenye Uche said.

Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx gets caught lying.............
August, 2020
"But in a 12-page investigation report published Monday, he found that Foxx and her staff made false statements to the public about the case and called the way charges were dismissed a “major failure.”
"The report also details several false or misleading comments made by Foxx and her office after the charges were dropped, including a statement made that same day in which Foxx’s office said it had “referred more than 5,700 cases for alternative prosecution. This is not a new or unusual practice.”"
"Foxx also made false statements about her contact with Smollett’s sister, actress Jurnee Smollett, following Foxx’s recusal from the case."
Kim "False" Foxx, yet the "community" treats her like a goddess.

Kim Foxx (D-Soros) is the stupid communist that pulled the mutual combatant crap a couple of weeks ago, refusing to charge two factions of the Four Corner Hustlers that decided to have a gunfight. 1 dead, 2 wounded, dozens of shots fired. She actually makes Lori Lightgroot look competent by comparison.

Ha-ha-ha-ha! I'm laughing at this idiot Smollett, but even more at his affirmative action dumbbell lawyer, who said, from the article:
"A deal is a deal. That’s ancient principle," attorney Nenye Uche said.
Are we sure Smollett's attorney isn't Jackie Chiles, Cosmo Kramer's lawyer?
If I tried making an argument like that in any court of law, I'd be laughed out of the courthouse. "That's ancient principle," he said. The courts don't make decisions based upon "ancient principle." They make decisions based on the written statutory law, relevant historical case law if any, and principles of equity (fairness), as determined by the judge. Where did the ancient principle of "a deal is a deal" originate, counsel? In some Turkish bazaar between a couple of incense peddlers?

The law needs to be changed so that if you make a false accusation against a person (rape, assault, or whatever) you get the same penalty (including prison time) that a person would have gotten if they actually did that thing to you!!!
Period!!!
If someone had assaulted him, with racial motivation, they would have spent years in prison for not only the attack but as a "hate crime". That is exactly where Jussie needs to go!!!

I thought this lying homo was already free and running loose on the streets of Chicago again. I guess their social justice network isn't as powerful as their murder network, which is still setting records.

Aye, there's the rub, #6. If Jussie gets a jury of his peers he will soon be flying free as a bird, or as OJ the LA Slasher.

#11 is thinking what I'm thinking. Dave Chappelle dealt with "Juicy Smollier" (from France, natch) with finality. Chappelle is a brave fellow. I'm down with him.

Sorry, but I can see a 9-0 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in favor of Jussie. The Court, if opposing Jussie, would have to conclude that a punishment of a cash fine and community service is not a punishment.

Wait. You mean that the story about Juicy going out to Subway for a sandwich at 2 a.m. and running into two white men who happened to be carrying a gallon of bleach and a noose-- in Chicago, at 2 a.m.-- that the story that they recognised and attacked him-- that was all a big fib? Oh my gosh.

The ancient principle of ''a deal-is-a-deal'' can be found in the law school textbooks right next to ''finders-keepers-loser's-weepers''.

I'm not a lawyer but seems to me its not Double Jeopardy if all Charges were dropped before any trial. Should have pleaded guilty to some minor crime when he took the deal.
