Chicago officers defying Mayor Lightfoot's
vaccine mandate: 'Everybody up in arms
across the board'

Original Article

John Catanzara, president of the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police, said Friday Chicago Mayor Lightfoot’s vaccine mandate is "absolutely wrong" and instructed other officers not to comply. The mandate takes effect Friday and requires all police officers to be vaccinated or get tested for COVID-19 twice a week. Police are required to provide their vaccination status to the city by the end of the day. On "Fox & Friends," Catanzara estimated about half of his officers have been vaccinated, but he said even those who have received the vaccine agree that a mandate is wrong. He told Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt that the mandate was Lightfoot’s decision

Comments:

Living in Chicago is going to get even more violent than it already is if the mayor fires the cops. I'm glad it's many hundreds of miles away from me.

I don't want police making arrests if they are infecting others with COVID. And neither do you. Or anyone else.

A friends tells of a coworker who just came down with Wuhan flu this week. He attended a 15 person get together of old friends a few days before, and they all came down with the virus afterwards. All 15 sick, all 15 vaccinated. It doesn't keep you from catching the virus. It doesn't keep you from passing it on to someone else. It doesn't keep you from getting sick. USELESS against the virus, but it might kill you all by itself.

Another Columbus Day has come and gone. Although it was "celebrated" with the usual vitriol and outraged "wokeism" concerning the Italian explorer's alleged "genocide" against the natives, one influential voice came to Columbus's defense: on October 11, Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a proclamation, an excerpt of which follows: Columbus stands a singular figure in Western Civilization, who exemplified courage, risk-taking, and heroism in the face of enormous odds; as a visionary who saw the possibilities of exploration beyond Europe; and as a founding father who laid the foundation for what would one day become the United States of America

With a domestic approval rating of just 38%, Joe Biden is fast becoming one of the most unpopular presidents in modern U.S. history at such an early stage of a presidency. The catastrophic Afghanistan withdrawal, a massive crisis on the southern border, and a Socialist-style big government economic agenda have all combined to disillusion American voters. Is the leader of the free world though faring any better on the international stage? After all, Biden boasted on the campaign trail about "restoring" America’s standing and credibility across the globe after the supposedly reckless approach of the Trump era.

More than 500 pages of internal documents from DC Metropolitan Police concerning the fatal shooting of Ashli Babbitt in the Capitol on Jan. 6 reveal witness accounts stating she was not holding a weapon at the time of her death and how "upset" the officer was after shooting her. "These previously secret records show there was no good reason to shoot and kill Ashli Babbitt," stated Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, which obtained the documents through a May 2021 FOIA lawsuit. "The Biden-Garland Justice Department and the Pelosi Congress have much to answer for the over the mishandling and cover-up of this scandalous killing of an American citizen

One of the things that COVID and the vaccines have brought to the fore is the fact that, even in the third decade of the 21st century, as the Book of Common Prayer says, “in the midst of life, we are in death.” In the modern age, it’s been easy to forget that fact. But what if it’s government or other third-party dictates that are forcing that death upon us, rather than our free choice as citizens in a supposed free country. What then? In Moby Dick, Herman Melville wrote about rope, specifically the ropes attached to harpoons. A whale would be sighted, the men would row out, and harpoons

Florida mom Quisha King called for a "mass exodus" from the public school system, arguing that school systems left parents with no other choice for fighting left-wing ideas. Her comments came during the annual Family Research Council's Pray Vote Stand Summit during a Thursday panel on "Fighting Indoctrination on a National Scale." "I really think at this point the only thing to do is have a mass exodus from the public school system – that's it," King said. In response, she received prolonged applause, and many in the audience stood to their feet at the Leesburg, Virginia, event. King previously drew national attention for her speech opposing critical race theory (CRT)

Affirmative Action: Obviously a euphemism for institutionalized racism. Apparently, it's OK to discriminate against people of European descent rather than blindly consider merit. And in the absence of merit, mediocracy becomes more prevalent. This is the left's preferred remedy, rather than allow the "clients" of this practice better access to quality education so they can have more marketable skills. Minimum Wage: Based on the myth that standards of living can be elevated by government edict rather than increases in productivity. Advocates for minimum wage rely on the slander that employers (AKA job-creators) exploit their workers, and they confuse the price of a worker's time with its value.

In March 2021, a year into the Covid-19 pandemic, the New York Times shared the results of a comprehensive survey of 35,000 Americans done by Gallup and Franklin Templeton. True to form, the Times refused to face the survey’s epic implications. The Times started pulling punches in the headline, “Covid’s Partisan Errors: Republicans tend to underestimate Covid risks — and Democrats tend to exaggerate them.” This equivocation papered over the real news hook of the story, namely that health officials and their media enablers scared policy makers, especially in blue states, into making catastrophic, fear-based misjudgments.

The associate director of the polling company that conducted the survey, Savanta ComRes, suggested that the finding could be partially attributed to the proliferation of virtual prayers and religious services during the pandemic. Ten percent of British adults reported in January that their faith is stronger as a result of the pandemic, according to the Pew Research Center. Growth in faith during the pandemic was even more pronounced in the U.S.
