The U.S. has agreed to provide humanitarian aid to a desperately poor Afghanistan on the brink of an economic disaster, while refusing to give political recognition to the country's new Taliban rulers, the Taliban said Sunday. The statement came at the end of the first direct talks between the former foes since the chaotic withdrawal of U.S. troops at the end of August. There was no immediate comment from the U.S. on the weekend meeting. The Taliban said the talks held in Doha, Qatar, 'went well,' with Washington freeing up humanitarian aid to Afghanistan after agreeing not to link such assistance to formal recognition of the Taliban.

So now we’re sending financial aid to terrorists? This has Obama and Jarrett written all over it.

Of course. Makes sense. Threaten concerned parents with terrorism charges while funding real terrorists.

Well, gee whiz, we wouldn't want the Taliban terrorists to have to stop buying explosives and weapons for terror to actually take care of their poor people.
In lie-beral "logic", that is just unfair...

Yep, our representatives in our representative congress sure are representing all the things we want. They've decided for us who we are and how generous we will be. Representing the hell out of us they are.

One would think that leaving $75 billion in weaponry, military equipment and vehicles would have been sufficient aid. Americans held for ransom, eh Xiden?

Tell the Taliban to sell all of the military hardware we left them to feed their poor. If that is not enough, they can charge the Chinese rent while they are using the airbase the US taxpayers built.

I hope the tolly bon has their good pal Obama's signature on the deal. That would for sure make if valid. They could just sell off some of the $85 million they stole, when they aren't too busy cutting donuts and figure-eights in the sand.

Apparently they have already sold all of the billions of dollars worth of military equipment to most of the other camel humpers around them and they need mo money. Joe will be happy to help. The ransom money for the people left behind will be paid on the down low.

Gee, we left them $85 billion in high tech materiel, so why do they need humanitarian aid? I guess the money they’re making from selling the equipment is going into the dresses of the Taliban leaders rather than being used to buy food, fuel, etc.

The billions of dollars worth of military equipment the Biden regime left them is enough of a gift to keep them funded for many decades. Let them look to the Chinese for any aid they wish.

The bill for Afghanistan will never end...
We've handed out money to the Taliban (and others) before to keep them from shooting at us. As the esteemed Gen. Petraeus said, “Employ money as a weapons system. Money can be ‘ammunition.’” Pallets of cash made their way into Afghanistan; suitcases of cash made it out.
See, it's not "tribute", so we're okay with it.

Seems like the $80 billion in military equipment we gave them should have been more than enough. Biden and his administration are brainless.

Just like Democrats, they want to run the country but insist they need loads of other people's money to do it. If they have the answers for how to run things, let them do it!

Just one step closer to formal recognition of the Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan. Another great success of our State Dept. add the Biden administration's retreat from Afghanistan. Your taxpayer dollars at work.
