Tesla's Elon Musk suggests Texas HQ move
inspired by tweet from California Democrat

Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Friday suggested that his decision to move the automaker's headquarters from Fremont, California, to Austin, Texas, was inspired by a Democratic assemblywoman who tweeted, "---k Elon Musk," in 2020. Musk made the announcement Thursday during a shareholder meeting, citing affordability, space and convenience as some of the reasons behind the move, adding that Tesla will also continue to expand in California. On Friday, the billionaire engineer responded to an article from Tesla news website Tesmanian.com titled, "Tesla Moved its HQ to Texas Following Explicit Offer from California Assemblywoman," saying, "Exactly."

Comments:

AOC drove away Amazon in NYC. This one drove away Elon Musk. Keep electing socialists, you blue state geniuses.

There's no mention of how much subsidy money is going into Musk's pocket as part of this move; journalism 101, especially in a "business" story. Says below that $65 million was dangled out for a factory. https://www.businessinsider.com/texas-county-approves-tax-subsidies-for-new-tesla-vehicle-factory-2020-7?op=1

The final ev manufacturer and Rocket/space manufacturer in Calif...and they want him "Gone". Bash him for wanting to train people to qualify for jobs...after the schools miserably failed to do so. Compare what he asked for remedial job training funding to what the Calif schools spend on CRT, Trans acceptance, re-gendering in all of their communications. Decades ago the CEO of IBM(back when they were the leading edge of Tech) stated, "Schools are failing, I need to hire thousands, I can train them to do what we need them to do...but I can not start them from scratch when they can't do even the most basic math, or communicate in basic english."

Musk said he's moving the Tesla Headquarters out of California, not manufacturing. New stories seem to conflate the two and I'm not sure that's what Musk is saying. The headquarters are on Deer Creek Road in Palo Alto and employ just a few hundred people. Tesla's major manufacturing facilities in California are in Fremont in the Bay Area and in Hawthorne near Los Angeles. Moving manufacturing from Fremont and Hawthorne would affect thousands of workers. Journalists need to clear up this confusion. Regardless, my apologies to Texas for all the liberals headed your way.

Is moving to the Austin area really that much of a change from California? Seems Musk wants the tax breaks from the move more than the socialist life style. Isn't it funny that the Austin area of Texas, the seat of government of the state, is similar to leftist California, while the rest of Texas is pretty much bright red. Leftists love government jobs. It enables them to rule people while producing nothing of value.

ANY company could be a success IF they were given as much in FEDERAL & STATE government subsidies as this one has. Why does he get "incentives", such as the monies mentioned for a factory? Seriously - this man is listed as one of the richest in the world BUT he hasn't made that money - the gov't has given it to him. So what, now he will start draining the Texas coffers??? Would've been better for TX if he had stayed in CA.

All cultures are important and valuable, but it is a facile mistake to think all cultures are equal. They are not. Cultures are not equal in terms of values, rights, ethics, morality, achievements, advancements, nor any other comparative feature. This isn’t good or bad, it isn’t a celebration or indictment, it’s just a basic observation. In the 15th century, among other differences European culture had developed different philosophies and military armaments than their western-hemisphere counterparts.

One of the most remarkable twists in the pandemic is that a handful of NBA players have emerged as the most cogent and principled defenders of liberty, common sense, and basic civic decency in America. It’s a bit unexpected. In recent years, the NBA has most often landed in the political news cycle thanks to LeBron James’ disgusting habit of bowing and scraping before the Chinese Communist Party, or Steve Kerr’s refusal to breathe a word about the suppression of protests in Hong Kong or the oppression of Uighur Muslims while lecturing everyone on the evils of systemic racism and gun ownership in America.

A new Supreme Court brings new hope to reeling in unchecked federal power. For the last few decades, the Supreme Court has allowed Congress to delegate unchecked power to unelected agency officials, who are mainly part of the executive branch. The executive branch has thus legislated through unelected officials and latched onto powers not granted to them via the Constitution. The most recent example is President Joe Biden’s mandate that large employers require their workers to be vaccinated or test for the virus weekly.

Radical pro-abortion facilities and activists first brought an emergency petition to the Supreme Court with the hopes that the justices would at least temporarily block the law from going into effect on Sept. 1.

In DC Comics’ anthology “Batman: Urban Legends issue #6,” Batman’s sidekick, Robin (the third one, Tim Drake), transforms into a bisexual. While rescuing his old buddy Bernard, Drake finds himself smitten. Meghan Fitzmartin, the writer of the story, described to NPR that Drake finally admitting to being bisexual is his “light bulb moment.” The significance “has been others seeing themselves in the character and feeling seen and cared for in a way that speaks to something that they’ve seen for a long time,” gushed Fitzmartin.
