The 'Shortage Economy' Will Hit Us Just

According to economists, we’re at the beginning of a “shortage economy” where shortages of goods like electronics and clothing will become commonplace. Yes, the pandemic is partly to blame. Factories shut down and are just now revving up to full capacity. The “supply chain bottleneck” has become a fact of life. More than that, there’s almost $10 trillion worth of government stimulus in the West that’s burning holes in people’s pockets. But there are several other factors affecting the supply of many goods. The Economist: Yet the shortage economy is also the product of two deeper forces. First, decarbonisation. The switch from coal to renewable energy has left Europe

Come November 2022, voters will remember what Christmas shopping in 2021 was like. On its own, that may not make too much difference. But add in (a) more COVID-19 deaths in 2021 than in 2020 (Biden vs. Trump presidencies), (b) rising fuel costs, (c) rising heating/cooling costs, (d) rising prices for basic things like groceries, (e) tax increases (at least proposed if not realized), (f) Afghanistan withdrawal, (g) the border, (h) the shuck and jive with mask and vaccine mandates, (i) increased violence in the nation's cities (almost all of which are run by Dems), and so forth. The list could go on double-alphabet! If the Republicans work hard, they can defeat the Dems from Congress to dog catcher. And then the Republicans have to govern like sensible adults. Competency would do nicely. No stupid compromise with the left. (Not all compromise is stupid. I am not saying it is. But we shouldn't compromise stupidly in the National Review fashion.)

I’m sure Pappy Poopy Pants is working on this during his moments of coherence. Absentia of cortex undoubtedly has ideas from her deep experience as a barkeep and consumer of outre’ fashion. But of course we must not forget “dr” jill and and faux-chi. They will have much input into solving this problem in a way to bring more “private” bags of money their way. And huncher - can he collect pappy’s 10% now? He needs to get back to his crack.

Do you remember the Christmas everybody in the US wanted to buy a Cabbage Patch doll? There you had one of the first manufactured shortages in memory. Want to know what killed the Cabbage Patch doll? Inventive seamstresses who could duplicate the doll, the little fake birth certificates and the cute little clothing for those. Hahaha! Let’s go Brandon!

I am an early Christmas shopper. I've been done since June. I only have one married son, no grandchildren. Only exchange gifts with one of my sisters (goodie box with home baked sweets) and I also prepare a box for a beloved neighbor and my son's in-laws. Ingredients already purchased. So I don't have an overwhelming shopping list to begin with. I listen all year to needs and wants and shop accordingly. BUT I know others do have long lists and many with smaller children are beginning to wonder about their toy lists. I would not want to be shopping for a big brood. Between shortages and HIGH prices it is going to be ugly out there. I do purchase a lot of gift cards which helps. I even have my Thanksgiving dinner in the freezer and in my cupboard. I am like a scout, always prepared. But I have to admit this "Let's go Branden" Administration is wearing me out.

My inner Ebenezer says, "yay". Except for the part where it hurts the economy, I don't see a downside to not wasting money on ever-increasing piles of crap that still don't salve the emptiness of the consumer's soul like they were supposed to.

Fools who believe in stupid unworkable things like solar panels in low sun UK, and windmills for electricity. The hard reality is they will be literally freezing in the dark because of their stupidity in believing the whole "CO2 is a problem" fairy tale. A fool and his heat and light are soon parted.

Southwest Airlines Cancels Even More Flights
as 'Issues' Worsen

As we reported earlier today, Southwest Airlines canceled hundreds of flights yesterday claiming, initially, that it was due to bad weather and that there were air traffic control issues. But their issues continued, with another 1,000 flights canceled today, as well — almost 28% of their total flights. This was the second straight day of significant issues. As we noted earlier, the claim of “weather” didn’t match what was happening in the country, and it wasn’t hitting other carriers. So, that wasn’t the real story. Fox’s Leland Vittert indicated that there was a “mass sickout” in protest of vaccine mandates. That many scrapped flights is obviously an internal problem, not weather.

US Senator Kyrsten Sinema wants to cut $100bn from climate programs in major legislation being pushed by the White House, a report says. The Arizona lawmaker is one of two centrist Democrats who are essential to passing a $3.5 trillion budget bill and a $1 trillion infrastructure bill, legislation which is a signature part of President Biden’s domestic agenda. Ms Sineman, who started her political career in the Green Party, is now demanding the cuts be made on climate provisions in the budget bill, according to The New York Times. Last month, Ms. Sinema told The Arizona Republic, “We know that a changing climate costs Arizonans. And right now

We’ve been talking about how bad the polling has been for Joe Biden, even in deep-blue states like Minnesota. How do you know when it’s getting really bad? When even CNN — usually all in to pimp for Biden — is acknowledging how underwater he is in job approval. He’s down even with Democrats, but what they say is really animating the poll is how much he has dropped with independents. As CNN’s John Berman and Harry Enten put it, the technical term is “not good.” He’s down 10 points among Democrats, 12 among Republicans, but among independents, he’s down 19 points.

President Donald Trump held a rally in Des Moines, Iowa, today. Now, like every Trump rally, you know it’s going to have a lot built into it. But this one, because of the location, has a little bit of a deeper meaning for 2024, because Iowa is the state front and center of any presidential primary run. Trump pointed to the importance of Iowa in the effort to take back the House and Senate in 2022, then the White House in 2024. The Republicans need a net gain of just one seat in the Senate and a net gain of five in the House to win back the majority. The only Democrat

A man who truly loves Iowa, loves Iowa. He’s young, very young guy. He’s strong and he’s very handsome. He fights like no other. When I’ve needed him for help, he was always there,

Democrat political analyst David Shor on Friday warned the Democrat Party has become too elitist, exclusive, and intolerant of the American workers and the American family, which is threatening President Biden’s agenda in the Senate and future elections beyond 2022. “I think the core problem with the Democratic Party is that the people who run and staff the Democratic Party are much more educated and ideologically liberal and they live in cities, and ultimately our candidate pool reflects that,” David Shor told the New York Times about the Democrats inability to connect with working families in the middle of the country.

A U.S. court of appeals temporarily reinstated Texas's six-week abortion law, issuing an administrative stay of a preliminary injunction granted to the Biden administration earlier this week by a federal judge that blocked the controversial law's implementation. "It is ordered that Appellant’s emergency motion to stay the preliminary injunction pending appeal is temporarily held in abeyance pending further order by this motions panel," the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Friday. The U.S. court of appeals directed the Department of Justice to respond to the emergency motion by 5 p.m. next Tuesday.

Some days ago, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who is one of the moderates holding up Biden’s “build back better” agenda, was accosted and filmed in a public bathroom. The illegal immigrant activists blistered her for not supporting a pathway to citizenship via reconciliation, something the Senate parliamentarian has already said can’t be done anyway. But it was really the reaction to that scene that held the most impact. You expect far-left lunatics to be far-left lunatics. What Sinema probably didn’t expect was for Joe Biden to claim the attack was “part of the process,” while Bernie Sanders holds up a letter of condemnation.

President Biden did not mention a labor shortage in remarks following the release of a disappointing jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday. Biden blamed lower-than-expected hiring levels on the spread of the Delta variant of coronavirus. The Bureau’s report found that the U.S. added just 194,000 jobs in September, compared with the 500,000 expected by economists. “Remember, today’s report is based on a survey that was taken during the week of September 13…when COVID cases were averaging more than 150,000 per day,” Biden said. “Since then, we’ve seen the daily cases fall by more than one-third, and they’re continuing to trend down.” Biden also repeatedly

It’s October and now the September numbers are in and they “fail to meet expectations.” When even CNN has to say how bad it is, you know it’s bad. The move is aimed at curbing emissions from a category of small engines on pace to produce more pollution each year than passenger vehicles. The gas-powered equipment to be banned uses small off-road engines, a broad category that includes generators, lawn equipment, pressure washers, chainsaws, weed trimmers and even golf carts. The order said: It is the policy of my administration that climate considerations shall be an essential element of United States foreign policy and national security. The United States will work with other countries and partners, both bilaterally and multilaterally, to put the world on a sustainable climate pathway.
