In a strange ending to a long series of motions and appeals, trial court Judge John R. Miraldi has unsealed confidential Facebook records of Gibson’s Bakery store clerk Allyn D. Gibson, who was not a party or witness in the underlying trial that resulted in massive verdicts for the family bakery.(Snip)This is all too strange. Judge Miraldi twice denied applications, first by the college then by the media, to unseal the records. The Writ in the Supreme Court was being opposed by Allyn D. on a motion to intervene. Why not just let it play out and allow the Ohio Supreme Court to rule?

Long-awaited and engulfed in controversy from start to finish, the Arizona Senate's election audit gave America a split decision while leaving the question of whether illicit ballots were improperly cast or counted to the state’s attorney general.(Snip)The more than 50,000 ballots flagged by auditors for more investigation involved concerns ranging from people voting from addresses from which they had already moved to residents voting twice. The total in question was nearly five times the 10,400 vote margin that separated the two presidential candidates, giving Donald Trump's troops fresh reason to call for more scrutiny.

Several hundred elite Navy SEALs are in danger of being blocked from deploying with their special operator teams by the Pentagon after failing to get a mandatory COVID vaccine, according to a lawyer and pastor counseling them.(Snip)"They are essentially being asked to make a decision between their commitments to the lordship of Christ and their careers as Navy SEALs. Our country should be very concerned about what this would do to military readiness. Losing hundreds of Navy SEALs because of their legitimate and sincerely held Christian beliefs could be devastating to us as a nation."

We still await the Ohio 9th Circuit Court of Appeals decision in which (1) Oberlin College is challenging the compensatory and punitive damage awards totalling, after reduction under Ohio tort reform law, $25 million, plus over $6 million in attorney’s fees, bringing the judgment to over $32 million, and (2) the cross-appeal by Gibson’s Bakery and two members of the Gibson family (including the widow of the late David Gibson) seeking to restore the full $33 million punitive damages award.

Campus groupthink and viewpoint intolerance in action: Either conform to the leftist pro-abortion stance or be condemned as “dangerous” and “unsafe.”(Snip)The editorial board of a Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) student newspaper slammed the student government and school administration for an early September decision to recognize the campus pro-life group, which the paper called “a danger to the student body.”(Snip)“We already have to deal with anti-abortion laws dictated by governments that put our lives in danger, but now we have to face the reality of our tuition going to a club that makes the majority of the student body feel unsafe,” the editorial board wrote.

Scientists have discovered that fully vaccinated individuals carry 251 times the viral load of Covid in their nostrils compared to the unvaccinated. The researchers, who detailed their findings in a paper by the prestigious Oxford University Clinical Research Group published Aug. 10 in The Lancet, found that while the jab moderates symptoms of infection, it also allows vaccinated individuals to carry unusually high viral loads without becoming ill at first, potentially transforming them into pre-symptomatic superspreaders. “This phenomenon may be the source of the shocking post-vaccination surges in heavily vaccinated populations globally,” Dr. Peter McCullough noted in an Aug. 23 analysis for Children’s Health Defense’s The Defender.

A month after referring it to mediation, the Ohio Supreme Court has sent a matter involving the unsealing of evidence in the Gibson's Bakery versus Oberlin College lawsuit back to its regular docket for a future decision.(Snip)In mid-July, WEWS-TV in Cleveland and several other parties had asked the Ohio Supreme Court to force Lorain County Common Pleas Judge John Miraldi to release photos of Facebook posts by Allyn D. Gibson, the son and grandson of the owners of Gibson's Bakery, that were submitted as evidence in a 2019 civil trial but never introduced during the trial.

Marine Corps General David H. Berger on Monday rebuked Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s edict requiring all Armed Forces personnel to submit to Covid-19 vaccinations under threat of court martial or discharge, said a source in Gen. Berger’s office who overheard a heated conversation between them. Gen. Berger telephoned the defense secretary minutes after he said in a press conference that the Covid-19 vaccination is needed to maintain military readiness and that he would enforce the mandatory vaccination policy regardless of FDA approval status. “There will be no mandatory vaccinations for my Marines,” Gen. Berger said.

Dr. Kobi Haviv is not just any doctor. He’s world-renowned for his work on Covid-19 treatments, particularly aiding patients who have acute respiratory ailments as a result. One would think an interview with him explaining the growing problems Israel is facing with Covid-19 hospitalizations would be newsworthy in the United States, but there has been a media blackout.(Snip)Because he had the gall to utter the phrase, “Yes, unfortunately the vaccine… as they say, its effectiveness is waning.”(Snip)According to Dr. Haviv, the vaccinated account for 85-90% of all new hospitalizations and 95% of “severe” cases at the Herzog Medical Center in Jerusalem.

OBERLIN — Investors bought $80 million in bonds last week to finance Oberlin College’s four-year geothermal energy conversion project. Following Stanford University, the Lorain County-based college is now the second higher education institution in the United States and third in the world to make use of Certified Climate Bonds for campus construction projects. The green financing avenue can only be used for projects that align with the Paris Climate Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to less than 2 degrees Celsius compared to temperatures before the age of industrialization.
