Multiple shoplifters in California were seen brazenly stealing from a Marshalls location as the crime continues in the state.
"People shopping there were just kind of standing there watching. The only thing I figured I could do was get their identities and their license plates and give them to somebody who will do something with them," witness Lindsey Rodriguez, a resident of Hemet who recorded the suspects, told NBC4.(Snip) "The employees at TJ Maxx have been told that, in these specific circumstances, it’s not worth it for you to go and physically attack, physically stop people that are walking out with this inventory," criminal defense attorney Alexandra Kazarian

See, shoplifting is WAY down in Cali.
But people taking things from stores without paying is way up.....it's just not a crime any more.
How long can stores remain open? Seems like they'll be closing soon enough.

Eventually the "don't prosecute" policy will drive all retail out of Democrats areas and online. All those store fronts will be empty, no more property taxes paid, no more jobs or vital resources for the necessities of life for the communities, all the other businesses that rely on those shops will also go under. Urban areas especially will be denuded of all retail businesses from pharmacies to grocery stores to clothing shops and home goods,
With ALL their touchy feely stupidity, the giant frozen flounder to the face that is the law of unintended consequences is something Democrats never see coming.

YEARS ago, in a big chain convenience store in Phoenix, AZ, I 'clotheslined' a guy rushing out of the store with a 30 pack of beer in each hand that he was stealing.
The store clerks were aghast; "Are you trying to get us in trouble? We aren't supposed to do anything to shoplifters; We aren't supposed to do anything to thieves unless they shoot or stab someone. We aren't even allowed to call the police unless someone is hurt. Management just calls it 'a cost of doing business.'

I wonder if it would be OK to steal the stuff back from them.

When the back asswards law is on the side of the shoplifters, it's not worth it to risk interfering, unless you own the store. Congratulations on your reinstatement of Newsom. Close down and move somewhere that the feral underclass isn't.

And they wonder why there are food and other "deserts" in certain urban areas.
There was once a thriving shopping center in Milwaukee. After it became "run down" it was rebuilt as a gem on the northwest side. It was anchored by a Target and Lowe's. It's now a retail wasteland. Those big boxes are gone; the parking lots with weeds growing from the cracked pavement a testament to folly. And if the Democrats get their way, this is coming to a suburb/exurb near you.

#7, I know of two malls in the KC area who went that route.....too many criminals living nearby to survive.
Indian Springs Mall and Bannister Mall. Both now only memories. And after Bannister Mall closed, Walmart tried a "SuperCenter" about a quarter mile away, just across the street. That survived about 6 or 7 years. Now gone, too.
Last I saw, Indian Springs was just a large empty asphalt lot, no buildings left. Bannister Mall sat empty for a few years, then was leveled, and sat a as a giant mound of rubble for another year or two. Now many office buildings take the spot. I guess that employees will just be forced to accept the rate of car theft and robberies in the parking lots that were the primary problems causing the malls to fail. You do have to park at work, you don't have to shop at an unsafe place.

I have a nephew who thinks that the people stealing are selling the stolen goods to buy food. I said, if they need food, why are they not stealing food.

This will keep happening until it starts to affect Rodeo Drive where the super-wealthy Hollywood types do their shopping.
Imagine someone like Cher being caught in the middle of one of these looting sprees while shopping at Prada or Armani.

I work at a big box store. One of the supervisors is a young hard-working Muslim woman. No one argues with her when she tells the customer that they cannot buy the item for the price they want. It's a blast!
The store doesn't sell Nike stuff any more. Too much theft. So. it's interesting to see young people ask where the Nike clothes are.
Retail stores are for honest people.

I’d like to see Cher beaten up by and Antifa or BLM thug and have her purse stolen. A fantasy because she likely has an armed bodyguard - libtard privilege

It may be counter-intuitive but the way to stop this nonsense is...have EVERYBODY start to do this in these Marxist utopias. And I am 100% serious. The Democrats are counting on the vast majority of people not participating in this legalized theft. That keeps everything manageable. The stores write it off as the cost of doing business there. The gimmedats get free stuff. The Democrats get virtue points.
But once the honest citizens figure out that THEY end up paying for this increased cost of doing business, they can either move, or they can stop this by joining the game. Start taking stuff too. Once this catches on and the stores get effectively stripped, the chaos created (including a huge drop in sales tax collections for these Democrat shiiteholes), it will all come crashing down.
Do your patriotic duty, Californians...start stealing stuff and shut down the Democrat crazies.

A Simple sign in bold capital letters stating the following posted at the entrance to all these stores overwhelmed by shoplifting, which is by the way is a polite euphemism for looting, would put a stop to these crimes in one day - LOOTERS WILL BE SHOT! All it would take would be a couple of these criminals suffering gun shot wounds in a couple of locations and that would be the end of this communist death democrat attack on our cities and towns.
Hard Core? Maybe, but hard times call for hard measures.

Why bother to report theft? It will just be null prosed (not prosecuted).
Steal away. Steal away. Just take what you want.
Soon there will be no more stores.
Then the Dems can declare victory over capitalism.

As this becomes more & more common how long before more & more people do it?
Why pay when you can take?
What would be store policy then?
How high will insurance costs go?
Sooner or later the stores will have to pull out.
Then watch the polys blame the stores.

When the 'regular people' start doing this (re #16, et al), they will get prosecuted for it. Only the feral "oppressed" class are expected (and permitted) to take without consequence.

Given that corporate policy is to make the honest customers pay inflated prices to cover these losses, maybe it's time for the honest folks to grab&go too.
