Either four of America's top generals

In the midst of the Afghanistan surrender debacle last month, Joe Biden went for a softball interview with a Democrat partisan news reporter. As always, the President struggled to put words together. Finally, the reporter asked Biden point blank a leading question he could answer with a simple yes or no: “So no one told — your military advisers did not tell you, “No, we should just keep 2,500 troops. It’s been a stable situation for the last several years. We can do that. We can continue to do that”? Biden answered: “No. No one said that to me that I can recall.”

Hmm, gee, I wonder which it is???

In my opinion I think all of them are lying. CYA to keep your jobs while we Americans have to hear them tear this country apart and wait for something to drop. How much can we put up with? Biden needs the 25th amendment yesterday!

I wonder how of these geniuses read H.R. McMaster's Dereliction of Duty - about the failure of the Jt. Chiefs to confront LBJ before plunging into Vietnam. I doubt Austin has, Milley - maybe - in between reading books on white rage. What a bunch of spineless cowards, who are more concerned about their rank and prestige than doing their job and standing up to sleepy Joe. Sad.

I'm not sure I understand the comment "They're all lying" which appears in various forms here in the comments. The Generals say they told Biden something, while Biden says they didn't. Either the Generals told him that or they didn't. If they did, then Biden is lying and the Generals are not. If they didn't, then the Generals are lying and Biden is not. (I personally think it's Biden who is lying.) About this point, it's not possible for all them to by lying.

Totally loathe Quid Pro Joe. But the old crook gave himself an out. He said he couldn't recall. He might remember the last woman he sniffed but doubt he can remember what he had for breakfast or advice from others. The Delaware Dummy has always thought he is the Cats Pajamas and needs no advice from mere mortals. Being a citizen of the USA while this senile simpleton is CEO is like when I took a cab to the airport and the driver was drinking beer and driving 95 mph on the interstate. If I'm around in January 2025 I will kiss the ground.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So no one told -- your military advisors did not tell you, "No, we should just keep 2,500 troops. It's been a stable situation for the last several years. We can do that. We can continue to do that"? BIDEN: No. No one said that to me that I can recall. And there you have it. The generals advised Biden to leave 2,500 troops in place, but the shuffling dementia patient forgot. OR, Biden not being of sound mind, imagined himself smarter than the generals. Either way, he is unfit for office, and becomes more so with every passing day. Democrats did this to us. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/full-transcript-abc-news-george-stephanopoulos-interview-president/story?id=79535643

Yay, Glenn!!!! Georgy-Porgy Stephanopoulos (can Biden find a more charitable marshmallow of an interviewer anywhere on the planet?) … and Biden lied to him. Or maybe he was essentially telling the truth when he said he did’t remember being told about those generals' belief that 2500 servicemembers should be left in place until everyone else was out of Afghanistan? The price of having a mental case in the Oval Office?

It's pretty thin for Biden and his apologists to say, "They may have advised me, multiple times over a period of many months as they say, and I'm sure I would have deliberated over such advice as any responsible president would in connection with matters of life and death, but I'm just saying that I don't recall it." Everyone will have to conclude that he's truly lost his mind, or he's once again lying to us. I'll take either one.

Joe Biden’s border policy would be comical if it weren’t so destructive and tragic. He in effect tells would-be immigrants, “Please don’t come but, if you do, we’ll let you in and let you stay.” Predictably, they do come, they do get let in, and they do stay. Put another way, they come, they see and they conquer — all at the implicit invitation of the president. How long before they get dinner at the White House? Millions come. Border towns are overrun. Sanitation is bad. Conditions are horrendous, filthy and unprecedented.

A Hillary Clinton lawyer has been indicted for lying to the FBI in the Clinton campaign’s 2016 smear of Donald Trump. The lawyer fed bogus information to the FBI to fuel the false allegation that Trump was colluding with Russia. The lawyer lied to the FBI by stating that he was acting purely as a private citizen, while his own firm’s billing records prove he was actually working for Hillary’s campaign. As the current occupant of the office for which Hillary was campaigning might say in a rare lucid moment, “This is a big f*cking deal.”

The first midterm elections during a presidential term are a test that he/she/they/it usually fails. Harvard actively and obviously discriminates against Asians. To get admitted, Asians need an SAT score 140 points higher than whites and 450 points higher than blacks. Harvard’s justification for this discrimination is almost as painful as the discrimination itself. Harvard says that the Asian applicants have poor personalities. The way Harvard evaluates an applicant’s personality is not with any standardized test, but with an in-person interview by a bureaucrat – where it just so happens that the bureaucrat can take note of the applicant’s skin color. Asian applicants sued. The suit was in Boston before a federal judge appointed by President Obama. The judge sided with Harvard.

Back in your correspondent’s Version 2.3 or thereabouts, he was an engineer for Boeing. This was back in 1978-79. My starting salary was $15,400. When I left Boeing to start my personal Version 3.0, my salary was still less than $17,000. My parents thought I was crazy to give that up and take on debt to go to law school. Boeing was booming. Airlines were being de-regulated, airline travel was becoming less expensive while still being slightly sexy, and everyone wanted to go to Europe for the first time.

Joe Biden recently learned a trick from Kamala. When he’s asked a legitimate question that he doesn’t want to answer, he laughs. This buys him time and maybe even avoids altogether the necessity for an answer. Sometimes it works. But it works less well when the question is about human lives at stake. It’s all part of his flippancy, snarkiness and gaslighting as he tries to divert attention away from the humanitarian catastrophe that he created in his Afghanistan abandonment. His strategy seems to have been something like “ready, fire, aim.”

A certain Iraqi official holding the post of (Dis)Information Minister made a name for himself in the second Iraq war against the west. That was the one where Saddam Hussein wound up hiding in a spider hole and the people of Iraq were finally freed of his tyranny. It doesn’t matter what his real name was. He came to be called “Baghdad Bob.” As the western allies descended on Baghdad, Bob held frequent press conferences laden with colorful, comical but incorrect contentions: “Our initial assessment is that [the allies] will all die.” That assessment proved inaccurate, to put it mildly. “God will roast their stomachs in hell at the hands of Iraqis.” Ditto.

Scathing criticisms of Joe Biden’s disastrous cut-and-run in Afghanistan have been issued by even his media cheerleaders at CNN, NPR and the New York Times. Career diplomats including former Obama officials have publicly excoriated his administration for incompetence. Foreign leaders are baffled. Only the Taliban is happy. A withdrawal from Afghanistan may have been necessary, but it didn’t have to happen this way. Only 2,500 soldiers were there anyway – about the same as in Iraq.

In a recent mixed gathering of friends and casual acquaintances, a man made a joke about “mental masturbation.” A woman’s rejoinder mentioned her habits of the physical kind. Everyone laughed. I did too. It was funny. That’s an exchange that would not have happened a few years ago. Back then, and forever prior to then, onanism was a fine thing that 90% of people practiced, often to perfection, but 110% denied. Heck, they didn’t even need to deny it, because the entire topic was taboo. Not so anymore.

A decade ago, the EPA determined the Keystone Pipeline would produce “no adverse environmental” effects. But Joe “Follow-the-Science” Biden (does anyone seriously think Biden knows anything about science or bothers to follow it?) killed the pipeline hours after being sworn in last January. Since then, Biden has waged war on the American oil and gas industry. Scolding Americans that “we’ve already waited too long to deal with the climate crisis,” he has halted new oil and gas leases on federal lands and ordered a re-examination of existing leases. OK, burning oil and gas has probably warmed the earth a degree or two. Or not. The science is not settled.
