Chicago - The city of Chicago is taking a more hands-on approach to treat gunshot victims. The Office of Emergency Management is installing more than 400 wall-mounted "bleeding control" kits in buildings across the city. The emergency medical kit locations include City Hall, public libraries, medical clinics and more. Each kit has enough supplies to treat eight victims. Ten people were killed and 58 others were wounded in Chicago shootings over the weekend. Chicago crime reporting website HeyJackass.com says 608 people have been killed in Chicago shootings so far this year with nearly 3,000 others who were shot and wounded.

So, what's in these "bleeding control" medical kits? Do Chicago gangsta gangs include gangsta medics who patch up their wounded troops? 100% chance there's some good stuff, valuable stuff, in these "bleeding control" medical kits that any gangbanger worth his illegal 9mm could put to good use for the benefit of his community, his gangbanger community, that is.

Medical kits??? How about hiring police and stopping the carnage instead of treating gunshot wounds. Or is that too un-woke?

Chicago probably requires proof of covid vaccination before anyone is allowed to use a kit to try to save anyone's life.

Bleeding Control Medical Kits installed in public buildings? Most of the places names are government run places. They will not be open or accessible when the shots start going off on Friday night into Sunday night. They are all closed at night and most on the weekends. Lots of medical clinics (except for public hospitals) are also closed at night, especially on the weekends. Also, given the thoughtfulness of the gangbangers in Chicago, they will probably break into the buildings where the kits are placed and steal them for the supplies to use on their gang friends who manage to live through their bullet wounds. This is akin to giving syringes to junkies.

I predict that they will be stolen or vandalized before a week is out. If you don't know how to control serious (arterial) bleeding, and have the proper med kit in your car....you should. Combat tourniquet, packing gauze, chest seals, pressure bandages and knowledge of how to use them can save a life in a serious auto accident or gunshot situation. The trauma first aid training is pretty available.

#12, there is no such thing as "gun violence". Guns are entirely neutral tools. People are violent, and sometimes, when doing violence they may use guns.

How will Chicago keep the bleeding control kits from being stolen? Here's an even better question: What Chicago politicians and/or their cronies are making money off selling the kits to the City of Chicago? In Illinois, it isn't about stopping crime. It's about being in power and making money by hook or by crook. That goes for donkeys and the elephants (however, there are fewer elephants than there are donkeys in Illinois).
