Thousands of mostly Haitian migrants traverse
Panama on way to United States

Panama City - Up to 4,000 migrants, most of them Haitians, have passed through the treacherous jungles of the Darien Gap in Panama on the Colombian border as they make their way north to the United States, two Panamanian government sources said. An impromptu camp arose in recent weeks on the U.S.-Mexican border that included Haitians, adding to President Joe Biden's migration policy headaches. At its peak on Sept. 18 there were some 15,000 people there as Haitians flee economic, political and social chaos in their homeland. The camp was cleared of thousands of Haitians by Friday, with most remaining in the United States for now

Gotta get those mail in ballot counts assured before 2022. That's assuming democrats want to at least be able to say votes come from addresses here in the US. With them in charge of everything we'll probably have on line voting and / or an amnesty (or two) by 2022 or 2024. After that voting wouldn't really matter anymore (as if it does now - see Arizona).

They are not fleeing chaos in Haiti. These “migrants” have been living in South America for years and now see an opportunity to come to the US without fear of the law. More fake news.

The catch is, America is now heading in a worse direction than Haiti or South America. Democrats want them to make sure there will be enough voters to wipe out republicans in upcoming elections.

Every da*n Country that allows migrants to pass through should be cut off from any benefits that US provides, especially Mexico. They are aiding and abetting terrorists , drug dealers, and deceased people to come here illegally. I also think that we should station military troops along the MEXICAN side of the border, as Mexico is stabbing the U.S. in the back. If Mexico does not like it, let them act responsibly. Mexico is NOT our ally.

The Haitians passing through Columbia and Panama are not fleeing "economic, political and social chaos in their homeland." They had already reached safe harbor in South America and had been there for some time. They're coming to America now for a better deal knowing they can blend in with the people who are currently fleeing the chaos in Haiti. It's why we're finding all those ID cards issued by their South American countries of residence abandoned prior to crossing the river. They're not only illegal aliens, they're scammers.

"Trump made a mess of the border, ruined cooperation with other nations, I'm going to FIX all of that!"- "Lunchbox" Joe Biden Panama went from receiving an average of 800 migrants in January to 30,000 in August. ALL refugees are required to seek refuge in the FIRST safe country they enter...and IF they don't do not qualify for refuge here. That IS the LAW. If they are passing through 7 other countries, then are immediately handed over to NGO/Charity groups who get PAID to house/feed/transport/place them? Those same groups are likely planning, paying, and arranging to transport them here to begin with. The term for that is "Human Trafficking"

Japan to lift all COVID restrictions 4 replies

Anyone who followed the saga of Japan’s journey through both the COVID plague and the country’s disastrous efforts to host the Olympic Games is probably already aware that many restrictions were placed on both citizens and visitors while the Delta variant spread across their islands. The nation’s initial efforts in June and July to establish mass vaccination centers failed repeatedly due to both a problem in obtaining a sufficient number of doses and logistical nightmares encountered in trying to vaccinate such a widely distributed population. This led to the political impacts

There are lots of moving parts to the Democrats’ struggle to spend trillions of dollars via bipartisan infrastructure legislation and Democrat-only-backed reconciliation. The debt ceiling has now been thrown into the mix for good measure. This piece in the Washington Post does a good job describing the Democrats quandary. It simplifies things considerably if one starts from the reality we have emphasized throughout — Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema are in total control of what can and cannot be enacted through reciliation. For purposes of a reconciliation package, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. Recognizing this reality, belatedly it seems to me, Joe Biden spent

Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better” plan is in big trouble, as we have been reporting. The progressives and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi are desperate to pass it, even at the risk of the bipartisan infrastructure bill. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has even said that they should not pass the infrastructure bill first, as Pelosi would like on Thursday because they will lose their leverage on getting the Build Back Better budget reconciliation plan through. Meanwhile, the moderate Democrats think the infrastructure bill is what’s critical. They’re not as sold on the Build Back Better bill. Indeed, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) already said if the infrastructure bill wasn’t passed by yesterday

The Democrat Civil War has been hot for a while now, with the far-left progressive wing and more moderate wing going at each other over the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill. Sen. Joe Manchin has been the face of the resistance, so to speak, but he’s hardly alone, with a sizable number of of his colleagues objecting on the House side of things. And just as I predicted almost two months ago, Rep. Nancy Pelosi has painted her party in a corner — and there seems to be no way to reconcile the two sides in short order. A vote on the bipartisan infrastructure bill already failed to materialize yesterday,

A new Gallup poll shows that when it comes to COVID risks, a lot of Americans have no idea what’s going on. The poll, involving 3,158 adult Americans, tells us that 41% of Democrats believe the unvaccinated have a 50% chance of being hospitalized because of COVID. Independents believe the correct number is 26%, while Republicans came in at 22%. The correct answer: Fewer than 1% of unvaccinated people infected with COVID will have to go to the hospital. While Republicans were more likely to overestimate the risk of vaccinated COVID patients being admitted to a hospital, both groups are off by a mile.

Testifying before the Senate Armed Services committee Tuesday, head of U.S. Central Command General Frank McKenzie confirmed that he initially recommended President Biden maintain 2,500 troops in Afghanistan, contradicting the president’s claim that the military unanimously recommended total withdrawal. McKenzie also warned that a full withdrawal would lead inexorably to the collapse of the Afghan forces and government. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Mark Milley, also present at the hearing, echoed McKenzie’s assertion, saying they both believed that a small footprint should be maintained until the Taliban complied with certain conditions for withdrawal. While neither general would say explicitly that they conveyed that opinion personally to President Biden,

Washington — In the final days of the U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, a top American general met Taliban leaders in Qatar and warned them to keep their forces out of Kabul for a few more days or else face the threat of U.S. airstrikes. Gen. Frank McKenzie, the head of U.S. Central Command, sat across from Taliban leader Abdul Ghani Baradar and showed him a map with a circle around Kabul, about 20 to 30 kilometers (12.4 to 18.6 miles) outside the city. McKenzie told Baradar that Taliban fighters had to stay outside the circle or the United States would strike them.

Dems Blame Potential Shutdown on GOP 13 replies

It is a basic rule of politics that if there is a government shutdown, it is the Republicans’ fault. If a Republican president or governor vetoes Democratic spending bills and portions of the government are briefly shuttered, it is the Republicans’ fault. Conversely, if a Republican Congress or legislature passes spending bills that a Democratic president or governor vetoes because they are not large enough, it is also the Republicans’ fault. We now see this pattern play out in Washington, where the Democrats control the presidency, the House and the Senate, and still don’t seem to be able to pass a continuing resolution to temporarily fund
