Scientific American, founded in 1845, has published such brilliant minds as Albert Einstein, Linus Pauling, and J. Robert Oppenheimer, and explored subjects as diverse as perpetual motion and solar neutrinos. These days, however, the magazine is concerning itself with somewhat different topics — like how “problematic” the fictional space warriors known as Jedi are. In a story published Thursday, titled “Why the Term ‘JEDI’ Is Problematic for Describing Programs That Promote Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion,” a group of five authors argue, “The Jedi are inappropriate mascots for social justice.”

Thanks to government funding, science has become a religion of the communists. “Believe in the Science.” “Trust the Science.” “Accept the Science.” “Have faith in Science.” None of these statements have anything whatsoever to do with science.

Science has been perverted by the left. Science is based on fact not feelings. I doubt they’ll ever figure that out.

One of the most influential consultants that George Lucas used during the making of the "Star Wars" trilogy was Joseph Campbell. Campbell wrote several books on "The Power of Myth" where he identified universal themes in folk stories and literature that cross times and cultures. His premise is that the similiarities of these myths is tied to our common human experiences of male and female roles and the struggles of our nature to cope with evil, death, and the meaning in life. The mythology of Star Wars with the young hero seeking a quest for justice to avenge the death of his parents is one of these myths. The male hero sacrifices himself to save the damsel. He must face multiple trials along the way until he attains his true self as the powerful but spiritually connected hero that conquers evil in the end. This was the message of the JEDI who have been portrayed in other myths as knights, samurai, gun slingers, hobbits, and DC comic heros. The people who want to destroy these myths want to remake our nature in their own image. This is what the cultural revolution in Russia, China, Cambodia, Viet Nam, North Korea, and other totalitarian states all seek to do. If they can control myth and meaning through language they can control the minds of people to obey their tyranny. We must fight this assault on our cultural heritage wherever it occurs. This is showing up as "woke" capitalism, critical race theory, and even such innocuous forms as a female James Bond.

Can't wait to hear the scientific community to opine on Darth Vader. The character was a white man who wore (gasp!) all black clothing and a black head covering. In real life the astounding voice was a black man but the costumed actor was white. What shall we do?

Open letter to J. W. Hammond, Sara E. Brownell, Nita A. Kedharnath, Susan J. Cheng, and W. Carson Byrd on September 25, 2021: It was a space movie, folks. Even young viewers compared the stories to Pirate ship sagas, tales of Cowboys and Indians, and cartoons. Youth, the target audience, were NOT fooled. The target audience did NOT extrapolate the story arc into some sort of morality play for the current media navel gazers! Get a grip Scientific American and stop kneeling at the tombs of former Nazi scientists and inventors. Thank you, Daily Wire for the article.

Fine, the "Science" of making iconic international "Household name" film universes is just a simple "Formula", what is done once is infinitely repeatable by anyone manipulating the same inputs, in the same order, via the same processes...anyone should be able to get the same results , just write it using whatever multi-hued epidermal trans glorified inclusively diverse characters you choose to manufacture and glorify. Trying to write this woke chit into the canon has had the effect of a close range cannon...each gets 'progressively' worse (Ya know...these same sorts of Clowns proclaimed then complained that JarJar Binks was a negative Racial Stereotype).

These racist morons validate my decision to discontinue the subscription 20+ years ago when they were taken over by political asses pushing the MMGW mythology as if it were real science. the person making the most ostentatious effort to be a White Savior is Robin di Angelo. As for this about Star Wars, the Jedi are White Saviors only if you think the little cuddly critters symbolically represent other races, in which case you are unrescuable and not going to be part of my cultural calculations. And finally. Do the anti-racism people have the foggiest idea how much human suffering there is and has been, other than slavery in the US. You hopeless ignorami. I would rather be a slave than an unborn child in the average womb. I would rather be a US slave than an Aztec slave, or a Central Asian one, or a North African one, or a concentration camp prisoner, or a dissident in a Chinese jail.

#18, it is no longer a scientific magazine, it is a political magazine. That's why I dropped my long subscription. Same for National Geo which I started getting as a gift from my grandfather when I was 14, and kept for 25+ years until the new editor announced in the magazine that it would from then forward be policy to put MMGW into all articles. I mailed in my cancelation and request for refund the next day.

It seems like this warning from the CDC shouldn’t be necessary yet the agency issued an alert to medical professionals to be on the lookout for Afghan refugees with infectious disease symptoms. A few cases of infectious diseases for which most Americans are vaccinated have started popping up among the Afghan evacuees recently brought into the United States. The CDC posted an announcement on its website warning medical professionals and staff of the possibility of Afghan refugees bringing infectious diseases like measles, mumps, and rubella into the country during their evacuation. Most Americans have been vaccinated against all those diseases.

We’ve reported about how Joe Biden’s staff has gone to great lengths to prevent him from answering questions. His meeting with U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the White House was a great example of this. Johnson took some questions from the British press. But as he was finishing up, the Biden staffers interrupted him, screaming at the top of their lungs at the press to get out, creating all kinds of chaos. The press then filed a complaint with White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki. She basically treated them like dirt and like their objections meant nothing. Then,

This comes after a spate of recent polls from TIPP and others suggesting Biden’s political support is in a freefall as Americans question his leadership on issues ranging from COVID-19 to the chaos on the U.S.’ southern border to the recent botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. The I&I/TIPP Poll asked Americans: “If the presidential election were held today, and the following were the candidates, for whom would you vote?”

"If you're both vaccinated and taking COVID-19 precautions, intimacy is likely to be safe," OHA wrote on Facebook. It was a striking change to the beginning of the pandemic last year when OHA released previous advice for daters in the time of COVID-19. "You are your safest sex partner," OHA wrote at the time.
