White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan figures prominently in a grand jury investigation run by Special Counsel John Durham into an alleged 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign scheme to use both the FBI and CIA to tar Donald Trump as a colluder with Russia, according to people familiar with the criminal probe, which they say has broadened into a conspiracy case. Sullivan is facing scrutiny, sources say, over potentially false statements he made about his involvement in the effort, which continued after the election and into 2017. As a senior foreign policy adviser to Clinton, Sullivan spearheaded what was known inside her campaign as a “confidential project” to link Trump

Comments:

Blockbuster has become a tiresome bit of click bait, but this could warrant it. One significant blogger (also a lawyer) tags this as a colossal information dump. This was never going to be about only Sussman, but his indictment had to meet a deadline. This apparently has none.

The entire Federal government, including those in whom the most trust is placed, is corrupt. And who's going to reform all this, repair the damage done by such as the Patriot Act and other legal intrusions? Americans thought they were purchasing security...they bought a whole lot of tyranny. The Founders didn't trust government; why does anyone?

Nothing alleged about it. And about 3 dozen, at least, in the FBI, CIA and DoJ broke many laws to make this smear campaign work.....until it didn't work even with their criminal acts.

It's apparent some people have been talking, took a deal. Wonder how that phrase from Rod Rosenstein, "it's a big deal to sign off on a FISA warrant" is playing out in these discussions. And, hope they are still working to connect Daniel J. Jones, former FBI investigator, Clinton administration volunteer and top staffer to California Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who ran TDIP (The Democracy Integrity Project) which pushed daily "research" briefings to prominent journalists, congressional staffers all in an effort to keep the Russian "collusion" story alive. TDIP employed both Glenn Simpson and Christopher Steele, and was funded by people like Rob Reiner and George Soros. The TDIP wasted FBI and DOJ resources, Congressional resources and likely others pushing their "research".

I have noticed that, in all the acres of commentary (most of it respectful or even laudatory) on the wrapping of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris with 25,000 square meters of polypropylene fabric, none has claimed that the beauty of the city has been thereby enhanced. It has been called “remarkable,” “amazing,” “bold,” and even “artistic”—O Art, as Marie Antoinette would now exclaim, what crimes are committed in thy name! But no one—at least, no one whose cowardly dithyrambs to this costly, pointless exercise I have read—has called it beautiful. But while the prosecution remains in its infant stages, and it will be some time before the country knows more details(snip) the biggest backers of the Trump-Russia collusion hoax have already exonerated Sussmann. That fits a long pattern of collusion spinners downplaying every investigative advance into their Russia hoax. Here are their top talking points about the Sussmann news and why they are gibberish.

The state of Florida has obtained thousands of monoclonal antibody treatments to treat COVID-19 from a UK-based company after the Biden administration’s abrupt rationing of federally acquired doses. Florida went to GlaxoSmithKline, which produces monoclonals that haven’t yet been bought up by the federal government. They reached an agreement on about 3,000 doses, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Sept. 23. “That’s showing that we’re going to leave no stone unturned. And, if there’s somebody that needs a monoclonal antibody treatment, we’re going to work hard to get it to them,” the Republican told a press conference in Tampa.

At the Sept. 21 Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing on counterterrorism, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas touted a raft of new programs aimed at combating domestic extremism—many of which are raising red flags among interest groups across the political spectrum. The new DHS plans follow a March 2021 intelligence community report that deems white supremacy and violent domestic extremism as the most dangerous terrorism threat to the homeland. Mayorkas made similar statements at the Sept. 21 hearing. “Today, U.S.-based lone actors and small groups, including homegrown violent extremists and domestic violent extremists—who are inspired by a broad range of ideological motivations—pose the most significant and persistent terrorism-related threat to our country,” Mayorkas said.

The antiviral remdesivir treatment reduced the risk of hospitalization among COVID-19 patients when administered soon after they were diagnosed, according to a new study. Researchers found that remdesivir cut hospitalization risk by 87 percent compared to a placebo that half of the study participants received. Some 562 patients, all deemed at high-risk from COVID-19, were enrolled in the trial. Gilead Sciences, which conducted the Phase 3 randomized, double-blind trial, stopped enrollment in April because the company struggled to find enough participants. But it continued to follow those who had enrolled, half of whom were given a placebo.

LOS ANGELES — California has the lowest coronavirus transmission rate of any state following a sharp decline in cases and hospitalizations after a summer surge. The nation’s most populous state is the only one experiencing “substantial” coronavirus transmission, the second-highest level on the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s color-coded map. So is Puerto Rico. In all other U.S. states, virus transmission is labeled as “high,” defined as 100 or more cases per 100,000 people in the last week. California’s rate is 94 cases per 100,000. By comparison, Texas is 386 and Florida is 296.
