Five reasons the California recall is
good news for conservatives

Original Article

For conservatives sorting through the wreckage of the unsuccessful California gubernatorial recall effort, there are reasons to be hopeful. Here are five of them. First, for a liberal like Gov. Gavin Newsom to break a sweat in a liberal bastion speaks volumes. It would be akin to the 1992 Olympic Dream Team struggling to hold off Cuba for the basketball gold medal. Sure, the outcome was not close, but when Democrats outnumber Republicans nearly two-to-one, this race should never have risen to the level it did. Ink should never even have been spilled on its analysis.

Keep smearing lipstick on that pig. Votes mean nothing, and until we start addressing that, we will remain communist.

The author describes Newsom as telegenic. I marvel that anyone watching Newsom on TV would describe this unattractive man with an unpleasant horse voice as telegenic. Twenty plus years ago, when Mayor Willie Brown appointed Newsom to the San Francisco board of supervisors, one might have found his visage pleasant although much of that came from his youth. His looks now match his tawdry, incompetent and mendacious character.

And the worst point he is trying to make. "Secondly, the Golden State has become ungovernable for anyone, especially a Republican. The state is too big, the problems are too serious and the Democratic one-party rule is too strong. " Which he is saying, not a big loss, since it is a mess right now. By that flawed logic, we should also give up on America because Biden turned the country into a mess. Idiotic article, idiotic argument, from someone who seems to be trying hard to spin the failure of the spineless RNC who did not back Larry Elder, and the rest of the idiots who ran and took some of the votes. I said this many times, and I will say it again. Unless the voting system is fixed, mail-in ballot nonsense stopped, it will be hard for anyone not approved by the democrats to win elections.

The candidates other than Larry Elder didn’t take one vote away from the Yes to recall vote. The RNC stayed out of the recall since they considered an official Republican presence the kiss of death. Big money and big media were what made Newsom’s win so large. He won big. He didn’t have to cheat. Most voters here are ardent members of the Church of the Democratic Party.

I blame all the Republicans that abandoned California instead of staying here and fighting for their State. I imagine they will also abandon America when the fighting gets too tough to save her as well. Republicans refuse to fight. They simply run away and then bad mouth all of us that have stayed. Where was the National Republican Party when we needed help to oust Newsom? We got a talk show guy this time and an actor last time. Gee thanks. Most complainers of California do not reside in California. I love God, my wife and kids, America and yes, California. I will stay and fight. I will not run away. I am not a Republican. I am a Christian Conservative. Have a blessed day.

The GOP lost ---- but that is a good thing. I remember when GW sent some guy to Iraq, who knew nothing about the country, and we were told that --- bit that is a good thing. So Biden should be in a nursing home, Blinken and the Pentagon are fools, and the government is ran by communists, but conservatives will be told --- but that is a good thing. After all, the GOP and the Democrats are controlled by their donors, not us --- and that's a good thing.

#12 - I don't know from where you're getting your numbers. Per Ballotpedia, the recall petition garnered 2.1 million signatures, of which 1.7 million were proven valid. 3.3 million voted for the recall this week; 5.8 million against. And for what it was worth, Elder captured less than 2.4 million votes.

#12 Where did you get the "8 million signed the recall petition" number from? Look up the article. "Who wants to recall Gov. Newsom? Signatures point to Trump’s California By Swetha Kannan and Sandhya Kambhampati April 29, 2021" And you'll see. "The Times analysis studied the 1,626,042 voter signatures verified by local election officials and reported Monday by the secretary of state's office. Not included are about 400,575 signatures that officials rejected." And the article was panicking, suggested Trump is taking over California. The official numbers, from the Los Angeles article.

The United States should be at its pinnacle of strength. It still produces more goods and services than any other nation—China included, which has a population over four times as large. Its fuel and food industries are globally preeminent, as are its graduate science, computer, engineering, medical, and technology university programs. Its constitution is the oldest of current free nations. And the U.S. military is by far the best funded in the world. And yet something has gone terribly wrong within America, from the southern border to Afghanistan.

Senator Tom Cotton, R-Ark., laid into President Biden for spending his weekend at the beach while Americans are still stranded in Afghanistan. Cotton campaigned in Iowa this weekend on behalf of Republicans in the Hawkeye State, where he sat down with Fox News for an exclusive interview that touched on Afghanistan, the border crisis, the 2024 election and more. The president's weekend trip to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware is "adding embarrassment" to "humiliation," Cotton said.

"One of the lessons I hope our students can unlearn is that politics doesn't have to be this way," Biden said. "Politics doesn't have to be this way. They're growing up in an environment where they see it's…like a war, like a bitter feud….I mean, it's not how we are. It's not who we are as a nation. And it's not how we beat every other crisis in our history. We got to come together." When an elected executive complains that politics is too much like

President Biden used the word "unity" eight times in his inauguration speech, but voters say the country is heading in the opposite direction on his watch. By a 54-37 percent margin, they think the country is less united under Biden rather than more so. The latest Fox News national survey also finds a dip in the numbers describing him as caring and as a strong leader. Fifty-one percent think Biden cares about "people like you." That was 56 percent last year (October 2020). That five-point shift is mostly due to a 15-point drop among independents.

The first inalienable right mentioned in the Declaration of Independence is the right to life. Yet America, which enshrines that right in our founding document, does a worse job of protecting unborn life than most other countries. The Supreme Court now has a chance to begin ending this injustice and ensuring that America lives up to its promise. We’re both shocked at how far the U.S. falls short in protecting life. We’ve spent the better part of our careers striving to change that. One of us (Ambassador Haley) has also seen how life is devalued across the rest of the world.

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., railed against a judge’s decision to block a Minneapolis ballot measure that would replace the city's police department with a new department of public safety. During an in-person town hall meeting Tuesday evening in Minneapolis, Omar blamed big money for thwarting a progressive measure that she argued would have given the city "flexibility" on how to better police the city. "The leaders who are opposed to progress in this city are not nameless or faceless," she said. "Using your network to obstruct the kind of progress so many people in this city want and were looking forward to is not something that should go unnoticed."

One of today’s most important, and weirdly under-reported, news stories is the economic crisis that threatens Great Britain and, more broadly, Europe. Its most striking current manifestation is a food shortage in the U.K. Acute food shortages were feared last night after high gas prices forced most of Britain’s commercial production of carbon dioxide to shut down. Emergency talks were being held between government officials and food producers, retailers and the energy industry…. The closure of two fertiliser plants in northern England and others in Europe has left the food and drink industry facing a shortage of carbon dioxide, which
