#2, in six months. Seriously, the estimate has been six months from the time anyone asks the question. This has been going on for at least 12 years. Sliding scale and all that.

States Gear Up for Legal Fight Over Vaccine Mandate 2 replies
Posted by earlybird 9/14/2021 10:19:31 PM Post Reply
Nearly all Republican-led states have voiced opposition to the vaccine mandate announced by President Joe Biden last week. Many of them have vowed to fight the mandate in court, but held back on voicing specific legal strategies as details of the Biden administration’s policy remain unknown. The mandate would require businesses with more than 100 employees to have staff either vaccinated against COVID-19 or be tested weekly for the disease. It would be put in place through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), according to Biden. Governors and attorneys general in at least 27 states, all Republicans, made comments in opposition to the mandate.

The immunity conferred by recovering from COVID-19 is better than the protection afforded by COVID-19 vaccines, a prominent vaccine inventor says, citing in part a recent study from Israel. (snip) people in the country vaccinated with Pfizer’s COVID-19 shot were 13 times more likely to contract the Delta variant of the CCP virus and 27 times more at risk of symptomatic disease, compared to those who had recovered from COVID-19. “It’s now been shown(snip) that the breadth of that immune response in terms of T and B cell memory populations is more diverse and more long-lasting than the breadth of immune response elicited by the spike-based vaccines alone,”

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Rochelle Walensky says the federal health agency is working quickly on a COVID-19 vaccine for younger children between the ages of 5 and 11. “We’re waiting for the companies to submit the data to the FDA, we’re anticipating that will happen in the fall,” (snip). “We will look at that data from the FDA, from the CDC, with the urgency that we all feel for getting our kids vaccinated and we’re hoping by the end of the year.” Her comments contrast with health advisory panels in several other countries, including the United Kingdom, that haven’t recommended COVID-19 shots for children aged 5 to 11.

Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee strictly oppose the immigration reform measures in the committee’s portion of the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion budget resolution package because they say the bill grants amnesty to nearly 8 million illegal immigrants and encourages more people to flood the southern border. “June was the highest month on record until July when 212,000 enforcement encounters took place; my guess is August will be higher yet. So, what are Democrats focused on in this legislation? Putting amnesty in a bill for—approximately 8 million illegal immigrants—in a bill that spends $3.5 trillion,” Jordan said in his opening statement to the House Judiciary Committee hearing Monday.

Apple on Monday released a series of emergency security updates following the discovery of a vulnerability that allowed Israeli company NSO Group to infect Apple products with spyware. The vulnerability, discovered by researchers at Citizen Lab, applied to Apple iOS, MacOS and WatchOS products, and was described by the researchers as a “zero-day zero-click exploit” targeted against iMessage. Apple released security updates for each of the products on Monday after Citizen Lab disclosed the vulnerability to the company last week, with Apple noting in the update that it was “aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.”

New York City’s largest teacher’s union has won a battle to keep teachers and other educators employed if they suffer from certain medical conditions and don’t want to comply as a result with the Big Apple’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. An arbitrator ruled late Friday that teachers with certain documented medical afflictions must be offered assignments outside of classrooms and be kept on the city’s payroll. Other educators who don’t want a COVID-19 vaccine must be offered unpaid leave that keeps in place their health coverage or a severance package. City officials announced last month that all 148,000 Department of Education employees would have to get a COVID-19 vaccine, with limited exemptions.

I held off on writing about the “F*** Joe Biden” chants that began at college football games a couple of weeks ago. I had three reasons. First, I’m not a fan of obscenities because I think they cheapen speech. Second, these chants were initially small groups at Southern colleges, which really didn’t seem like a “thing.” Third, I wasn’t going to get excited until I learned whether the chants had legs. Well, it turns out they do have legs and they’re becoming large chants at multiple games (including New York baseball games). And most importantly, Joe Biden knows about them and isn’t happy.

A popular catch-phrase among pro-Trump patriots is: “Nothing can stop what is coming.” This is based on the theory that there are things quietly going on behind the scenes, that President Trump still has a hand in what is happening today. Perhaps he is laying a giant trap for Democrats and the deep state establishment. Or perhaps the military is in control under the theory of devolution. Or perhaps, this is all delusional wishful thinking.
