Numerous aspects of what unfolded during the Capitol riot have been hotly debated in the months since it happened, but few have been as contentious and emotional as the debate over the officer-involved shooting death of Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt. The 35-year-old Air Force veteran was shot and killed by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd on January 6th after she tried to climb through a glass-paneled door after parts of it had been shattered by another rioter, identified as Zachary Jordan Alam. Babbitt, who reportedly had been standing next to Alam, was shot. In April, the Biden Department of Justice announced they had closed the investigation into the fatal shooting

The video demolishes the conclusions of the official review. Believe the government or your lying eyes. And what we have seen is only a small portion of the video record. The Jan 6 videos are not being released because there was no riot, and the leaders of all the violence are FBI agents, BLM, and Antifa thugs. The video will show if Michael Byrd's mouth was moving. Experts can see through any mask. All we ever get are lies, lies, and more lies.

I am a huge supporter of my local police. I "back the blue" 100%. However, when a cop does something wrong, I also fully support punishing them to the highest degree allowed under the law. Officer Byrd killed an innocent unarmed woman for protesting. She wasn't violent. She wasn't a threat to him or anyone else. He didn't save a single life that day -- he took one innocent life -- and he should be facing prison for the rest of his life for doing it!!! This type of massive cover-up wreaks of politics and is exactly whey so many of us have no faith left in the judicial system in this country at all!!!

If you come out of a supermarket, and a hooligans' is destroying your car with a tire iron, you will go to jail the rest of your life for shooting them. There is not a State in the Union that allows deadly force in the protection of property. Ashli Babbitt was murdered in cold blood for breaking a window, because an ignoramus (and vastly incompetent) civil servant drank the Leftist koolaid. And so long as he keeps drinking the koolaid, they will reward him with protection. The rule of law is officially dead in America. It survived a barrage of wounds in the Clinton administration. Same under the Obama administration under the same cast of characters. And it was finally put down by the BLM and the Capitol Police.

Byrd is an incompetent, poorly trained affirmative action hire who panicked and murdered an innocent, unarmed woman for no good reason. He deserves prison 100 times more than Officer Chauvin, very clearly.

I saw the video just after Jan 6. She was just standing there beside two armed police officers. The video i saw also showed a guy in the crowd walk behind the cops change his jacket and hat on the stairs and leave. Byrd gunned her down in cold blood.

If I were Mr. Byrd. there's no way in God's good green earth without Nancy Pelosi standing off camera with a loaded gun pointed at me (a real possibility) that I'd allow even the softest of softball interviews to take place (ie, Lester Holt, who would be the slowest underhand softball pitcher known to man and the deep state). I trust Ms. Babbit's family attorneys are going through this interview with a fine toothed comb as to show any discrepancies between the "official (ie, sanitized)" accounts vs the story Mr Byrd is selling. Probably, there is no justice in this current situation for Ms. Babbitt's family for the sensless MURDER that Mr Byrd inflicted on them. Decisions in the next world are beyond my pay grade.

FTA* 'she tried to climb through a glass-paneled door after parts of it had been shattered by another rioter, identified as Zachary Jordan Alam.' It is surprising, and discouraging, that Legal Insurrection would repeat such debunked descriptions as those above. She was not climbing through broken glass, nor was she in cahoots with another rioter. She was an honourable AF vet, God Rest Her..........not an auntie frou frou.

Despite the public expectation that the war in Afghanistan is over, it may only be changing form. Even before his retreat from Kabul turned into a shambles, Joe Biden was preparing to pivot to the strategy of waging low-intensity warfare from “over the horizon”. NPR wrote in May 2021: “Right now, ‘over the horizon’ is more a fuzzy concept than a polished military plan.” The Biden plan — before it fell apart — was to use air assets like drones to supplement the now-defunct Afghan air force with intelligence-driven precision strikes.

POLITICO reports that “Florida has gained nearly 3 million people since the last redistricting process a decade ago,” and that expansion has “set the stage for a remaking of its political lines headed into a 2022 election likely to determine control of the U.S. House.” The paper’s Gary Fineout and Matt Dixon remind readers that redistricting “will be controlled by Republicans, who already hold 16 of the state’s 27 congressional districts.” Democrats worry that “the new maps will only further banish them in Florida’s political desert.” Florida will gain a 28th seat

One of the most fascinating questions about WW2 concerns when the Nazis realized they had lost the war. Some say the generals knew early as December 1941, when Operation Barbarossa was stopped before Moscow, that the great throw of the dice had failed. Others say civilian leaders came to it in 1942 when Case Blue failed to secure the oil they needed to fight on in the East. But most certainly the public moment had come by February 1943, when Joseph Goebbels delivered his famous “Total War” speech admitting that, far from attaining victory, the Reich would be very lucky to survive without a mobilization on a Communist scale.

I ask this question for two reasons: I have seen enough videos and read about enough officer-civilian interactions to know that the act of subduing a lethal threat requires several rounds. If an intruder entered my home and threatened my wife and child, I would shoot until I was able to ensure the target was immobilized. As to the first statement, there are plenty of examples of police officers firing multiple shots at a suspected threat. In the past year, the American public has been thoroughly able to parse through the shootings of criminals like Breonna Taylor and Antonio Brown, to name just two examples.
